This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Canada. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Canada|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Canada. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.
This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to Americas.

Non-notable company. Small market broadcaster that only ever owned two stations. Was acquired by another company. Westman, if we can find sources, would probably have enough we could find for an article to redirect it to. ViperSnake151 Talk 05:48, 2 August 2025 (UTC)

Youth ice hockey organization which fails WP:GNG since it does not have WP:SIGCOV. The league is covered only in primary or secondary sources. Any third-party sources I found are only passing mentions, such as person X once played on team Y in league Z. An alternative is mering into Ontario Minor Hockey Association, which is the parent organization. Flibirigit (talk) 23:58, 1 August 2025 (UTC)

Article about a company, not properly sourced as having any strong claim to passing WP:CORP. As always, companies are not automatically entitled to have Wikipedia articles just because they exist, and have to be shown to pass WP:GNG and WP:CORPDEPTH on third-party coverage about them in media and/or books -- but two of the four footnotes here are the company's own self-published content about itself, and the other two both just glancingly namecheck this company's existence in the process of being about something or someone else, which means absolutely none of them count as GNG-building coverage at all. Nothing here is "inherently" notable enough to exempt this company from having to be referenced much better than this. Bearcat (talk) 04:57, 1 August 2025 (UTC)

- Delete the article fails WP:CORP. Of the four sources, this and this are the company's own press releases. This is WP:CORPTRIV: trivial coverage listing it briefly along with others in its industry. This isn't about the company but mentions it in passing in a wood industry magazine whose about us section mentions that it specialises in promoting such companies and doesn't inspire confidence that it is truly independent of the company. Can't find any other sources that suggest notability. Valenciano (talk) 07:34, 1 August 2025 (UTC)

As you can on it's page, there is an unresolved additional citations tag from 2009. It has not been resolved because the subject does not have any WP:SIGCOV in any WP:INDEPENDENT sources. There are extensive mentions in the school's own website and the York Region District School Board's websites. However, those aren't independent. When scouring Google Books, all I could find were passing mentions. Some of these weren't independent sources, some were works of fictions (just with the same name as the subject), and others were lists. On Google Scholar, I could find unrelated works created by students of the school. On Google News, it was much the same as Google Books in the sense that I could not find significant coverage. Most were just passing mentions. Some notable examples: [2]; [3]; [4]; [5]; [6]; [7]. If we were to construct a page using these, I think it would violate WP:NOTNEWS and WP:INDISCRIMINATE. Does not meet WP:GNG or WP:NSCHOOLS. 🇪🇭 Easternsahara U T C 15:46, 30 July 2025 (UTC)

An article on a small, non-notable fan convention. The sources currently in the article are not reliable sources, being either simple event listings or the (currently down) official website for the event. Searches did not turn up any significant coverage on the event, in either its original form or more recent virtual form, that would allow it to pass the WP:GNG. The article was WP:PRODed back in 2012, but that was contested by the article creator, so I am bringing it to AFD for discussion. Rorshacma (talk) 23:23, 29 July 2025 (UTC)

I searched for some sources on Google News, per standard procedure, and all I could find are some trivial mentions. Even if these were significant coverage, I am not sure they would pass not news. I looked at Google scholar as well, it was mostly student's papers which did not mention the school significantly in any capacity. On Google Books, the sources were either not independent or in passing mention. 🇪🇭 Easternsahara U T C 18:15, 29 July 2025 (UTC)

For this very controversial BLP, notability seems to be entirely resting on a WP:1E student newspaper controversy. All other references are passing. Does not pass GNG from reliable independent sources outside of the 1 event, and this is very negative BLP which makes me further question it given how poor the sourcing is. We should not be writing an article on every controversial student newspaper columnist. PARAKANYAA (talk) 22:07, 28 July 2025 (UTC)

- Delete: Doesn't seem to have gotten much coverage in Canadian media; she worked for Rebel News, which tends to be seen in a negative light here, to be diplomatic (they're of the same cloth as OAN and many others in the USA). That's likely the reason for the lack of coverage. Tangential mentions in the sources given, not really enough to show notability for our purposes. Oaktree b (talk) 13:24, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
- Delete per nominator and Oaktree b. MidnightAlarm (talk) 20:35, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
- Delete – this article is blatantly WP:BIO1E of a single controversial (yet minor) event. No significant coverage exists outside of trivial mentions-in-passing so WP:GNG clearly isn't met. I share the nominator's concerns about the poor sourcing considering how negative the article is. Keeping WP:NEXIST in mind I don't think the article could possibly be salvaged; a thorough search shows there simply don't exist enough reliable, independent sources providing anything remotely like significant coverage. A cut and dry case of non-notability. GhostOfNoMan 20:06, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
- Delete. Per nominator. The basis of the article is WP:1E and then loads of WP:TRIVIALMENTIONS. Lots of the references are to poor and unreliable sources like blogs, podcasts, and Substack posts...
- To summarize this article:
- Was fired from a student newspaper for interviewing a neo-Nazi. That serves as the basis of the article and is what's been used in the lede. This is WP:1E. The sources include a podcast, another student newspaper, and BuzzFeed. Two are reputable Canadian news (Global Times and CTV), but Wikipedia is WP:NOTNEWS and single events don't establish notability.
- Worked for Rebel News briefly. Of three references, one is a page on Rebel News (itself not a reliable source) asking for donations. The other two references (National Post and The Times) don't even mention Anna Slatz, they seem to have been included just to be able to insert "far-right." There's a mention of her arrest and release while covering protests, hardly notable and didn't lead to substantial coverage anywhere (of the three references, one is a blog and another is Patch.com (a WP:UGC website)).
- Set up a blog Reduxx. None of the references here are actually about Reduxx or Anna Slatz, just quick mentions of Reduxx. Reduxx doesn't have its own article and even if it justified one, notability isn't inherited and these are WP:TRIVIALMENTIONS.
- She tweeted something and it got mentioned in an article about JK Rowling, then she tweeted something about women going to India and it got mentioned alongside other tweets in an Indian blog DESIblitz.
- That's the whole page. Clearly there isn't any substance to this article. It revolves around WP:1E and fails WP:GNG. Ashoburn (talk) 21:29, 31 July 2025 (UTC)

Sometimes I start draft I Microsoft Word and then paste them in, so the only thing I can think of is I started the draft, but then forgot I did, kept working on it and then tried to start a new draft and forgot to write Draft: and it was a mainspace by mistake and then said oops just leave it when I should've just G7'd it. Article about a television series, not properly sourced as having any strong claim to passing WP:TVSHOW. As always, television shows are not automatically entitled to have Wikipedia articles just because they exist, and have to pass certain defined notability criteria -- noteworthy awards, significant WP:GNG-worthy coverage about them, and on and so forth.
But two of the three footnotes here are IMDb and a Facebook post, which are not support for notability at all -- and while the third footnote is a real piece of GNG-worthy media coverage, it just represents local coverage in the area where the series was filmed, and thus isn't enough to singlehandedly vault this over GNG all by itself, while even a Google News search only found one other GNG-worthy (though still local) source about it.
The series, incidentally, aired on a cable television community channel -- the Canadian equivalent of public access television -- so it can't be extended a presumption of notability in the absence of adequate sourcing. Bearcat (talk) 15:41, 24 July 2025 (UTC)

- Keep I'm seeing other GNG-quality sources, such as a May 2025 article in the The Daily Gleaner. It's paywalled at [8] but the full text is available for all to see at ProQuest 3206341807. There's also an extensive August 2023 article in the Miramichi Leader ProQuest 2866485108. These should have both easily popped in a BEFORE. Nfitz (talk) 04:22, 31 July 2025 (UTC)
- The first source doesn't count towards WP:GNG as it's a passing mention. The second source counts for something, but two sources? I don't think that fulfils WP:GNG. jolielover♥talk 05:26, 2 August 2025 (UTC)

Delete Article seems to be promotional in tone and fails WP:NBIO. Need more reliable sources apart from the [executive].--Policking (talk) 17:35, 24 July 2025 (UTC)— Policking (talk · contribs) is a confirmed sock puppet of Unclethepoter (talk · contribs).- Keep – Full disclosure: I created this article in March 2025. As the primary strategist behind what the SEC called one of “the most complex microcap stock fraud schemes” ever, Bauer meets notability requirements. The sources back this up.
- Investment Executive – National finance‑press report dissecting Bauer’s guilty plea and recapping his market activity. Independent, mainstream coverage demonstrating enduring public interest. This meets significant, reliable, secondary under WP:GNG.
- Law360 - Detailed legal story chronicling Bauer’s extradition fight.
- Compliance Week – Investigative compliance magazine feature that unpacks the $194 million pump‑and‑dump scheme step‑by‑step. The depth and analysis back up Bauer’s notability beyond routine reportage.
- BDO Canada (BDO Global) - One of Canada's largest accounting firms lays out details of "the Bauer Ring." This analysis from a major accounting firm shows the case's impact and discussion within the professional financial/legal community, corroborating the widespread attention noted in mainstream press.
- Stephenson Harwood briefing – International law‑firm commentary detailing the £100 million share‑ramping plea. Reliable legal insight confirming the scale and notoriety of the case.
- United States Department of Justice – Multiple official statements detailing charges, plea, and 20‑month sentence underscore the case’s gravity.
- United States Securities and Exchange Commission civil complaint & judgment – Provide a documented regulatory history that secondary outlets reference, further establishing the subject’s public footprint.

- Most of the sources you listed are primary sources, not high quality reliable secondary sources that cover the subject in depth. Unfortunately this and the other three articles suffer from COI/UPE and sockpuppetry issues. At Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cora Systems, an article which you also created, an editor said
The clear WP:PAID / WP:COI / WP:PROMO overtones, in the article's creation and its tone/intent, are also very very difficult to overlook.
I see the same issues here with this article too, and would like to hear from uninvolved experienced editors about whether this article meets WP:NBIO or not, because I don't believe it does. Some1 (talk) 22:56, 29 July 2025 (UTC)

- Keep — Karen Vardanyan is a prominent Armenian businessman and philanthropist, actively involved in public life, including as the head of one of Armenia’s largest holding companies. There are numerous independent Armenian-language sources confirming his notability. I will help improve the article by adding the appropriate references.

- Keep – Karen Vardanyan is a notable Armenian businessman and philanthropist, widely recognized in Armenia.
- He is the CEO of the largest confectionery producer in Armenia and a prominent public figure. His contributions span across business and philanthropy. He has been covered extensively in reliable sources, including major Armenian news outlets.
- Moreover, this article exists in both Armenian and Russian Wikipedias, which further supports his regional notability. The English article has been improved and now cites multiple independent and verifiable sources, demonstrating that the subject clearly meets Wikipedia’s WP:GNG.
- Deleting the article would mean erasing the presence of a significant figure in Armenian economic and social life from the English-language encyclopedia.
- Conclusion: The article meets notability criteria and should be kept.
- Anna Manasyan (talk) 11:12, 16 July 2025 (UTC)
- Keep. As noted above, sources exist in other languages including Russian and Armenian that establish notability. Some effort has already gone into adding these to the article. The formatting is bogus in several places, but that can be resolved outside of AfD.Gbp190, there is a template at {{ill}} or Template:Interlanguage link. This will add both a red link for the en-wiki article and blue link to the article in another language. When another editor gets around to creating the red-linked article, it will then automatically turn into a regular wikilink. When you add sources in the standard source editor, templates need to be closed within curly braces to work. So
<ref>{{cite web|...}}</ref>
rather than<ref>cite web|...</ref>
. You can also use the drop-down menu in the source editor's toolbard under "v Cite" and "Templates v"; this gives an easy form to fill out for the 4 most-used citation templates. Thanks for taking the time to track down sources and improve the article, Rjjiii (talk) 00:37, 20 July 2025 (UTC)

- Yes, Cadence of Hyrule is unquestionably notable as a game given how incredibly rare it is for Nintendo to license their IP to an indie. However, that is not "inherited" by the studio. Given that it was essentially a one-off situation, it doesn't seem that the studio in itself is notable due to it. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 21:26, 11 July 2025 (UTC)

- Crypt of the NecroDancer, Cadence of Hyrule and Rift of the NecroDancer appear to be part of a series. While I share your concern that a simple merge is not feasible, I think a redirect is fine for closing this AFD. IgelRM (talk) 16:27, 2 August 2025 (UTC)
