Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Wikipedia:REFUND)

This page is not for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions or to address the pending deletion of any page.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in two cases:

    1. Restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions (G6) or stale Articles for creation drafts (G13) or abandoned user subpages of non-contributors (U6)), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator.
    2. Requesting that deleted content be "userfied", i.e., restored as a draft, to userspace or emailed to you; this way, the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). Be clear as to which namespace is intended, when requesting the restoration of a deleted article.

This means that content deleted after discussion – through deletion processes – may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process but through deletion review instead. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided.

    Do not request that pages or media deleted under speedy deletion criteria F7, F9, F11, U5, U7, A7, A9, A11, G3, G4, G10, G11, G12, or G15 be undeleted here.

    Instructions for special cases:

    Siege of Taliqan

    [edit]

I am requesting undeletion of the article called Siege of Taliqan

The article was originally being worked on for simple wikipedia where the other editor is not blocked and I wrote most of the article myself and I uploaded it to English Wikipedia on my own without being told to do so and it was not meant to help anyone get around a block

I understand that this situation can look like proxy editing and uploading the article here was a mistake but there was no intention to evade a block or break policy

If the page is restored I will make sure that all future edits on English Wikipedia are done independently and follow the rules

Thank you for your time MunkhtushigTheGreatMongol (talk) 11:22, 28 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

However, the draft namespace, though it is intended to provide some breathing room to create and develop a page without the time pressure of immediate review, is not for the indefinite hosting of material that is unsuitable for inclusion in the article mainspace. Narhar Ambadas Kurundkar

    [edit]

Hello, I would like to request the undeletion of this page, please move it to draftspace. The page was recently deleted on the ground of notability. I don't know why the nominator didn't perform WP:BEFORE. There is a full-length monograph on the subject published by Sahitya Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters, which is enough to establish notability. Pinging nominator @4meter4:, and voters @Tioaeu8943:, @Agnieszka653:. —Gazal world (talk) 12:33, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Certainly you may work on this in draft. It’s great that you found a monograph. That particular source didn’t come up in searches for me, and evidently not for others as well. Please don’t assume that a failure in source location means due diligence was not done. Not every search engine has the same results. Not everyone is as skilled at researching content. Google books in particular is notorious for being both location based and algorithm based. It has different results based on where you live and your past search history, and different countries have different access levels and collections in google books. In other words, editors are not likely to get the same search results even using the same search terms because of the way google is structured. Please assume good faith. On a side note, a DRV is likely to endorse this close because there was a clear consensus to delete. I suggest starting over from scratch based on the source you found. I note that where I live this source does not provide any preview and I believe the subject had ties to the school which published the monograph which may draw into question whether the source is sufficiently independent. For me this would still be a delete. 4meter4 (talk) 14:03, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@4meter4: The monograph is published by Sahitya Akademi which is the national literary academy of India. And there are more sources too. I just assumed that others may have not checked Google Books but you must be right that your results might have been different than mine. So sorry on my behalf. --Gazal world (talk) 19:43, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Gazal world: No worries. It's easy to get frustrated when it appears like editors are being careless or making decisions which are not perceived as reasonable. Just remember that editors are doing the best they know how. Source location has so many variables in it, that it really is not entirely predictable what one editor's BEFORE will return versus another editor's searches. That is one reason why we have AFD discussions in the first place, so that the community of editors as a whole can work towards source location. Someone living in India for example is likely to have a much larger library of India related materials available to them in google books, then say someone living in the UK or the USA. That's just one example. Anyway, it sounds like you have located GNG level sourcing, so I encourage you to just build a new article from scratch at Draft:Narhar Ambadas Kurundkar. Best wishes.4meter4 (talk) 19:52, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    [edit]

Hi, I'm Taiyaki Schizo, and I would like to request the undeletion of this draft about a historical figure deleted under CSD G13 or U6. I am of the opinion that where possible Wikipedia should make articles about individual items in the same way that Wikidata tries to categorise everything to have one massive database of all that exists, by storing individual entities. While I understand criticism that this would lead to many short articles, in this case, other users contributed with more information of their own but I wasn't using Wikipedia much at the time and never ended up finalising the article. Please restore the page so that I can make edits to it. Thank you. Taiyaki Schizo (talk) 14:17, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Taiyaki Schizo please note that regardless of your personal opinions the subject must have the sources to show it is notable by our guideline on Wikipedia:Notability. Also you are mistaken about Wikidata: it does not try to "categorise everything" as you say, it has it's own notability policy at d:Wikidata:Notability. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 14:29, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I imagine there should be a 1-1 approach that if something is in Wikidata a page of it in Wikipedia can't be deleted for not being relevant. I think of Wikipedia as like a library where you can find information on anything which could be found in a book. I realise that some things seem almost irrelevant, but the whole is built off of smaller sections like individuals which often seem irrelevant because a narrative is easily dominated by more "important" things that catch the eye.
To avoid being poetic, if we have information on something, and we know it has relevance to a topic people could have an interest in, it ought to be recorded as someone could find new importance in it.
Separately, where are Wikipedia's policies on these things decided, since I realise I am preaching to the choir and you're just enforcing rules decided elsewhere.
But anyway, WikiData already had him as an entity as he took part in a revolt deemed to be important but the limited historical information on him makes his importance a matter of debate, where I think he is important.
In such a subjective situation, I think it is easy to understand we should err on the side of allowing it to be recorded. Taiyaki Schizo (talk) 19:01, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have noticed by looking at Wikipedia talk pages that a surprising amount of time on Wikipedia is spent arguing about what Wikipedia is, so maybe the real Wikipedia was the editors we made along the way. :) Taiyaki Schizo (talk) 19:01, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Wikidata has a different scope. I am in Wikidata, but that certainly does not justify a Wikipedia article on me. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:53, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
My first reaction was "How did you end up in Wikidata", and from your user page, you seem to be quite a substantial contributor. There is precedent for important wikipedia editors to get their own wiki pages, and we have an article on wiki users who have done enough here to attract attentions and a "List of Wikipedia people". If you have done enough on Wikipedia that people want to know who you are and make an article detailing your acheivements, this has already been done for other Wiki users. Yes, enough attention does make a person important.
I am having 2 different discussions on what feels like the same topic at once, the other being on my opinion that what was a very well-written article on the Namibian politician with the same name as Adolf Hitler should be brought back as the amount of attention brought to him by his name had led to research in an area that most people otherwise would not have bothered looking at, that being Namibian local politics. Local English politics, on the other hand, have tonnes of articles likely made by those politicians themselves or people who know them, and no one bats an eye since they are well-written and create the impression of importance. I see nothing wrong with that, Wikipedia is better for it. So, I would hope the same amount of detail would go into other parts of the world and rather than going "This person is important because I've never heard of them", itself already subject to much bias in terms of what we have already heard of, we can see it as an opportunity to find more information on a topic we otherwise would not have engaged with.
I do not plan to argue with Wiki users though, as much as it somehow feels enjoyable to talk to others on the internet. I asked on another talk page where I have not yet got back a reply, but where exactly am I allowed to make a case that policy or the way it is implemented should be changed, and actually have a chance of succeeding? You Saved My Life

    [edit]

Please restore You Saved My Life, which was deleted as a proposed deletion. Here are sources about You Saved My Life:

    1. Vickery, Colin (2009-04-15). "Hero worshipper". Herald Sun. Archived from the original on 2025-12-31. Retrieved 2025-12-31.

The article notes: "Tara Brown admits she has been a blubbering mess since the birth of her son, Jack, in October. The hormones have kicked in and the emotions are all over the map -- which makes her the perfect person to co-host Channel 9's You Saved My Life. The show is a three-hanky job. It tells the stories of people who have been saved in a life-or-death situation by a total stranger, an ordinary person who does the extraordinary, risking their own life to save another. Like Seven's Triple Zero Heroes, each episode ends with a reunion between the saver and the saved. Brown is there to interview each one about their emotion-charged meeting."

    2. McWhirter, Erin (2009-04-15). "Picks of the Week". The Daily Telegraph. Archived from the original on 2025-12-31. Retrieved 2025-12-31.

The article notes: "Just when it seemed observational documentary series Find My Family was the only show capable of producing tears in even the most hardened of viewers, along comes a rival. Seasoned 60 Minutes reporter Tara Brown introduces former train guard Les Williams (pictured with Brown). Twenty-six years ago Williams leapt from a moving train to save the life of an 18-month-old boy playing on the tracks. One wrong move and little Gavin Armstrong (also pictured) and Williams would have met a tragic fate. Now, Williams meets Armstrong for the second time. Re-enactments might not be this program's strong point, but viewers will be so caught up in the real-life moments that the clunky moments fail to detract from the overall effect."

    3. Beaumont, Anita (2009-04-17). "Channel Surf". Newcastle Herald. Archived from the original on 2025-12-31. Retrieved 2025-12-31.

The article notes: "Sometimes someone will make a split second decision that will change the lives of everyone involved. Like leaping from a moving train to save a toddler or going into a difficult situation to help someone in trouble with no thought for personal safety. This new heartstring-plucking series brings together the rescuers with the rescued for emotional reunions. Cue the violins and grab someone's sleeve to sniffle on. The emotions are real and touching, although there is a huge element of cheesiness — thanks to the soundtrack — that will hinder one's enthralment. 60 Minutes reporter Tara Brown (pictured) was keen to be involved once she was told about the experiences of some the people they would be featuring."

    4. Cronin, Seanna (2009-04-16). "Tara to the rescue". Play Magazine. Archived from the original on 2025-12-31. Retrieved 2025-12-31.

The article notes: "Some real-life heroes are not comfortable with their title or the spotlight, as Tara Brown discovered in the new series You Saved My Life. The 60 Minutes reporter co-hosts the tear-jerk series, which reunites those who have been saved in a life threatening situation with their rescuer, with Dr Andrew Rochford Usually, Brown's work starts on location, where she interviews the rescuer at the spot where the event took place. But on a few occasions she rang people to try to convince them to be on the show."

    5. Rigney, Ellen (2009-04-19). "What's On". The Daily Telegraph. Archived from the original on 2025-12-31. Retrieved 2025-12-31.

The article notes: "These are the incredible stories of people who were once complete strangers but are now inextricably linked by the extraordinary circumstances in which they met. Presented by Tara Brown (pictured) and Andrew Rochford, people who owe their lives to the courage of another are given the chance to reunite with their saviour to say thanks. ... While the featured people are inspiring and their stories are moving, repeated close-ups of the rescuer and rescuee hugging in slow motion tends to grate after a while."

    6. Tracy, Jackie (2009-04-19). "TV Guide". Sunday Mail. Archived from the original on 2025-12-31. Retrieved 2025-12-31.

The article notes: "It's a pretty cool concept - bringing together rescuers and the people who owe them bigtime. And Nine's tasked 60 Minutes reporter Tara Brown and telegenic medic Andrew Rochford with upping Australia's tissue usage. In the premiere, rail guard Len Williams comes face to face with the baby he saved from certain death on the tracks. The infant is now a 26-year-old man keen to say thanks. Allana Arnott also finally meets her saviour 18 years after a plane crash in the Blue Mountains."

The article notes: "Tara Brown and Andrew Rochford host this show, which is one of two new factual series on Nine and is reminiscent of two that air on Channel 7. This one reunites the rescued with the rescuer so the pair can relive the nightmare for the cameras. Opening up about their ordeal are Allana Arnott and Hugh Russell. It tells the stories of ordinary people who have saved another person's life. Tonight we hear the story of Len Williams, a train driver who jumped from a moving train to pull a toddler off the tracks right before the Newcastle-to-Sydney express screamed past. Anyone who has travelled by train between Gosford and Newcastle will watch this program in disbelief at how lucky the toddler, now 26, was."

But the genuine newsworthiness of its well-researched stories and the pacy re-enactments add an extra dimension to the reunions. Presenter Tara Brown's (pictured) 60 Minutes pedigree doesn't hurt and nor does the benign presence of TV medico Andrew Rochford. Tonight, flight attendant Greg Kahn and passenger Keith Charlton reunite six years after their bravery thwarted a hijacker on a seemingly routine Melbourne to Launceston flight. Kahn managed to wrestle the man to the ground, but took a savage beating for his pains. Charlton stepped in to save the have-a-go hero. Nice one."

    Chasing Time (TV series)

    [edit]

Please restore Chasing Time (TV series), which was deleted as a proposed deletion. Here are sources about Chasing Time:

    1. Lowry, Ben (2002-12-20). "Ulster produced TV show in line for top award". Belfast Telegraph. ProQuest 337129925.

The article notes: "A global travel series produced by a television company from Northern Ireland has been short-listed for an international award. The programmes, entitled 'Chasing Time In ...', were produced by Holywood-based Brian Waddell Productions for National Geographic Channels, to be screened worldwide. The series will compete for medals in the 45th Annual International Television Programming and Promotion awards run by the New York Festivals, which showcase global TV. The 13 episodes, presented by Trey Farley, involved contestants competing eight challenges in 12 hours in some of the world's great cities, including Rome and Sydney. The successful contestants won a luxury break in the city while the losers were sent home on the next flight."

    2. "Surprise, you're on a reality show". The Straits Times. 2003-02-22. Archived from the original on 2025-12-31. Retrieved 2025-12-31.

The article notes: "Chasing Time, a National Geographic Channel 13-parter, comes hot on the heels of reality show The Amazing Race, which also made a stopover here last year. Singapore is a destination in the second series of Chasing Time, to be aired in October on StarHub Channel 11. In each 30-minute episode, a couple of 20-somethings are whisked off to a foreign city. Armed with a mobile phone, map, phrase book and camera, they must complete eight tasks within 12 hours to win a luxury holiday. A source from National Geographic Channel revealed that filming here was wrapped up in four days. During this time, the contestants learnt calligraphy in Chinatown, convinced people on the street to belt out the national anthem, ate fish head curry and had their fortunes told by a parrot."

    3. Elder, Bruce (2003-01-13). "Pay TV - Saturday". The Sydney Morning Herald. Archived from the original on 2025-12-31. Retrieved 2025-12-31.

The article notes: "A simple concept: put two strangers in Sydney and give them a series of tasks to complete in an allotted time. If they succeed they score a holiday. If they fail they go back to Britain. The fun here is, if you're a Sydneysider, realising that what you consider to be easy others will find very difficult. The result is an interesting and fresh view of Sydney."

    4. "Simply Trey-riffic". New Straits Times. 2003-03-07. Archived from the original on 2025-12-31. Retrieved 2025-12-31.

The article notes: "At 27, Trey has waved farewell to the music television industry and now hosts National Geographic Chasing Time, an adventure-travel/challenge show. The clock rules as two contestants are whisked off to a foreign city armed with only a mobile phone, map, phrase book, camera and plenty of chutzpah. The quest: to unravel a bunch of cryptic text messages and explore the city within 12 hours. Success will garner an all-expense paid luxury stay in the chosen city. Otherwise, it's the next plane home. It's different from AXN's Amazing Race. The next Chasing Time instalment was shot in Kuala Lumpur last week."

As if travel isn't stressful enough, I got a tension headache just watching Pam and Clive shoot around Shanghai in the first of a new series of the global game show. They set such a cracking pace solving the cryptic clues, you see quite a lot of the city. Shanghai is a fast-changing metropolis of 13 million people, few of whom speak English. But they're a friendly lot, keen to help these Londoners find phoenix claws, a Chinese circus and assorted oriental oddities."

This week's premiere episode with Armstrong is Psychic Detectives, looking at how police psychics have become media darlings. The documentary asks if they are really helping police or merely wasting valuable resources and preying on loved-ones' desperation."

    8. Hooks, Barbara (2005-10-13). "Pay TV - Monday, October 17". The Age. ProQuest 363865488.

The article notes: "A welcome new season of the lively "travel challenge" series starts this week. The clever concept remains the same: Two-person teams are dropped into cities around the world where they take part in complicated scavenger hunt related to various landmarks and the locale they're in. For example, in the first new show, a ditzy Dutch couple arrive in Singapore, and straight away they're required to hunt for pink orchids, after which they try to get some of the shy locals to sing the country's national anthem. It's all in good fun."

I'm a little concerned about the continued use of AI. You have a history of creating articles with AI and then not resolving the various issues that arise from LLM created articles. You were given several warnings on December 28, along with a warning that this could go to ANI. I would rather see them go back through the articles they've already created and clean up any AI related issues that likely exist with those. I would also recommend that they check in at Wikipedia:WikiProject AI Cleanup to ask for advice on how to ensure that their work doesn't continue to have those issues, if they are going to continue using AI. This should be undeleted and attached to the right account by being moved to User:Christian Giersing/Sandbox, which should be moved out of the way and deleted as it's just a few redirects that got blanked. I found this because User:Christian Giersing (usurped)/Sandbox is in Category:Candidates for U6 speedy deletion as of 2026-01-01. I checked the relevant move log for more cases like that without finding any, but given the number of user changes this account has had (see the history of their main user page), there might be other deleted pages around. Hi! I would request the deletion review. My source assessment was claimed to be "false", despite the fact that it is based solely on Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources . There were barely two people who voted, and it does not seem that anyone reviewed 20+ sources in the article. The nominator did not address any of the valid questions I asked, or use any policies to support their claim and reasoning. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Winston_Weinberg

The subject meets WP:GNG and WP:SIGCOV through sustained, non-trivial coverage in multiple reliable, independent secondary sources with strong editorial oversight. There is no controversial promotional information in the article.

Interview-based reporting by independent journalists remains independent under WP:SIGCOV and WP:RS when it includes editorial control, narrative framing, and analysis. Independence is determined by authorship and editorial oversight, not by the presence of quotations from the subject.

Coverage goes beyond routine company news and addresses the person’s background, career, and leadership role in the legal AI sector over time.

I strongly believe a redirect is inappropriate and inconsistent with Wikipedia practice for notable founders who meet GNG. The sourcing supports a standalone biographical article. I'd appreciate a more detailed review! — Preceding unsigned comment added by WestwoodHights573 (talkcontribs) 19:19, 1 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Not done – this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Winston Weinberg, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, OwenX (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. Steel1943 (talk) 19:30, 1 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Got it! Thank you. I will contact the administrator. I was confused with instructions. WestwoodHights573 (talk) 19:32, 1 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Steel1943 the administrator told me to "appeal the AfD close at close at WP:DRV." I made a request here already. Is there another template to use? I strongly believe it should be relisted as none of the legitimate points I made were addressed, and nobody discussed anything exempt of me. @WestwoodHights573: You'll have to go through the instructions listed at WP:DRV to dispute your point. There are instructions there on how to start a new deletion review request/discussion. Either way, this page here is not where deletion discussion disputes are raised. Steel1943 (talk) 20:49, 1 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Haddad Maia fan: Done – as a draft that was deleted under CSD G13, the page has been restored upon request. However, the draft namespace, though it is intended to provide some breathing room to create and develop a page without the time pressure of immediate review, is not for the indefinite hosting of material that is unsuitable for inclusion in the article mainspace. Please continue to work on the draft so that it meets Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for inclusion and then submit it for review—at the least, prior to another six months elapsing. When you are ready, a review can be requested by placing this code at the top of the page and then saving: {{subst:submit}}. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 05:08, 2 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

The draft is now a page but after someone made an article while the draft still existed, I had to use copy-paste to put the draft article into the main article. At the time I didn't know that you could request a history merge for copy-paste procedure, but I was told at the time such a move was impossible so I didn't pursue it further. The draft was deleted in 2024 but if it's possible, I'd like to bring back the draft for the purpose of merging the history of that article into the current GP article.
