How to use this page

Making a request

Before asking volunteers to look for your source, try finding it yourself with the tools at your disposal.

In particular, eligible editors can use the Wikipedia Library, which gives access to content provided by numerous academic publishers.

Fixing references and common medical problems!
Warning: for legal reasons, we must note that the Resource Exchange cannot fix any medical problems. But it can fix references.

• Though we would prefer you to ask for a specific journal, article or work, we will accept open-ended questions. You can ask for all kinds of sources here, either on this page or by writing directly to an active user.
• Provide as much detail as possible: a full citation with author, title, publisher, date and identifiers like DOI, ISBN, ISSN, PMID, OCLC, etc. Indicate which article you need this for.
• Due to copyright restrictions, we cannot send you full book/thesis copies. Narrow down your request to a specific chapter or page(s).
• Since we cannot post original copyrighted material online, we will most likely send it by email. Make sure you have specified an email address in your preferences before asking.
• Add the {{Resolved}} template when your request is completed.
• Filled requests are archived. Requests unfilled after three months will also be archived.

Fulfilling a request

• Anyone may offer advice and fulfill requests, in full or in part. When fulfilling a part of a request, tell others which one so that they don't have to do the same work.
• Notify (mention) the requester using {{u|REQUESTER_USERNAME}}.
• You can:
  • post a URL address ( https://... ) if the material is available online and the webpage does not infringe others' copyrights
  • share scans of pages or documents using a file-sharing service if legal

Copyright tips

• Respect copyrights and terms of services of any online services you use.
• Limit sharing content online that the copyright holders have restricted access to to the minimum level: only to the individuals who need it, only to the minimal degree necessary to fulfil the request and only to improve Wikipedia. We share content under a presumed non-commercial, educational, fair use purpose to improve our articles or create new ones.
• Whenever possible, share copies privately. You should not upload copyrighted copies from print publications or online databases for unrestricted distribution via open websites.
• Individual editors are solely responsible for sharing copyrighted content and assume all legal risks. Check the laws of your jurisdiction to make sure you are comfortable and safe giving access to it.

Volunteers who will locate and send articles for you and are willing to be contacted to handle complex queries or answer questions

Books about folktales of Southeast Asian peoples (Tai Khamti and Shan)

The following books were written by academics of the peoples themselves.

1 * Sai Aung Htun Dr. (2020). Taikhamti: Legends & Law. Shan Literature and Culture Association. pp. 1-6 (introduction), 75-80 (tale 16. "The Python"), 143-156 (tale nr. 29 "The Young Man from the Emerald Mollusc (Sao Hoi Seng)").

The introduction is for Khamti people as a possible source, tale 16 for "The Story of the Hamadryad" (girl marries python).

The alternate for tale 29 indicates it is a Khamti variant of Sang Thong (aka. "The Prince in a Golden Conch [Shell]"), because "Hǒi-sang" was the name used by J. Leyden and Captain James Low to indicate the existence of the tale in the early 19th century.

2. * Pu Loi Hom; Pu Loi Tun, eds. (2014). Shan Legends. Zaw Oo. pp. 109-121 (text for tale nr. 14, "The Story of Ai Maung of the Tousled Hair (White Shell-fish, the future Buddha)", 300-308 (text for tale nr. 48, "The Story of a Fairy and a Prince"), 314-317 (text for tale nr. 51, "The Youth of Emerald Mollusc").

The Story of a Fairy and a Prince is homonymous with a tale first collected from a Shan source and published by Mrs. Leslie Milne in 1910. Milne's tale is a Shan variant of ATU 408 and the Indian "The Belbati Princess". Would like to see if it another variant or a reedition of Milne's text. In the latter's case, will add it as a reprint and later to separate the Shan tales.

"White Shell-fish" has a parallel title to a Shan tale published by B. R. Pearne in Journal of the Burma Research Society with the title "The Silver Oyster", which has been pointed as a Shan variant of Sang Thong. Possibly another variant of the Shan tale.

"The Youth of Emerald Mollusc" has a similar title with the Khamti "The Young Man from the Emerald Mollusc (Sao Hoi Seng)".

KHR FolkMyth, available copies of the books seem to be few and far between. There is the one that you found in the National Library of Myanmar, and the Department of Ethnical Literature & Culture-Kachin State also appears to have a copy, given the Facebook post here. Two bookshops also appear to have it: one here, for $3.5, and one here (although that post is from 2020). The first of those also includes a link to the book's table of contents, acknowledgements, introduction, and foreword. Note that the author died some months after publication, so reaching out to him is not an option. The reality is that the book is going to be difficult to borrow from a library. The best option would likely be to reach out to some of the parties above, and see if they would be willing to provide a scan of a few pages. (The bookshops may be less likely to do that, but while it's less than ideal to have to pay for sources used on Wikipedia, the cost before shipping does appear to be nominal—maybe they'd provide a scan so you wouldn't have to also pay for shipping?) --Usernameunique (talk) 18:27, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Getting in touch with an author or publisher is frequently a good way to get a copy of an article, especially when it's a niche piece; mentioning that it's for Wikipedia is also sometimes helpful, because it (a) shows it's for research (a reason for which authors, themselves researchers, frequently can relate), and (b) implies that the article might become more widely cited. Particularly here, when you're looking for a book that we can't find a trace of outside of Myanmar, I would try every available avenue. --Usernameunique (talk) 03:03, 2 December 2025 (UTC)

You can enter your username at the top of the page here, then fill out the form. You'll need to link to this discussion (which explains the difficulty of obtaining the book), give the articles you plan to use the book for, and provide the link of Myanmar Bookshop (above), from which the book can be bought. @Mmemaigret: That was being used as a reference on Northern Suburbs Transit System before that article was merged with Yanchep line. Its possible that this article only appeared in the Western Australian edition of the newspaper. Otherwise, something is wrong in the original citation. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask for this, and if not maybe you can point me in the right direction? I'm not looking for specific sources about specific topics, but rather collections of magazines to be useable generally as sources. There are a bunch of such magazines on Internet Archive, but there are several that I have not found, or at least not found full collections of, so maybe someone who is better at searching for this sort of thing could help me locate the ones I am missing? If you see them at IA, or available somewhere else, could you ping me and let me know? Or if there is a more appropriate forum to ask could you let me know that?

For Archivea, a seemingly extremely rare monotypic orchid which, to the best of my knowledge, is known only from a single illustration. The first two are articles which I haven't been able to find online: I can only find citations to the article in Revista Guatemalensis, while the article in Orchids does seem to at least be available online to members of the American Orchid Society. The third source is a recent book that at least (according to Plants of the World Online) mentions Archivea, but I am not sure on which page(s) - any pages that mention it even briefly would be useful.

I'm looking for a few books on Neapolitan cuisine in the hopes that they cover Neapolitan ragù. I am confident that Francesconi goes in some depth, and not sure at all whether any of the Sorrentino book's cover the subject. I have had little luck searching, and none are in libraries close to me.

You reverted this edit and then stated on the talk page of the article that you did not know "what" Radha is.

Per the policy you have mentioned, "An editor who may wish to draw a wider range of informed, but uninvolved, editors to a discussion can place a message..."

I am asking these editors as for help so that I can use the exact sources they have provided because they are informed but not involved.

For Cult of Zeus, currently under construction at User:Michael Aurel/Zeus. It would be excellent to have the part (or parts) that discuss the cult of Zeus and its origins at the site. Looking at a few reviews, the book seems to have three sections: pp. 1–139 are by Kyrieleis, pp. 141–246 by Eder, and pp. 247–248 by Benecke. Judging by this review, I think the part that discusses Zeus might be in the section by Kyrieleis (maybe around pp. 26–83)?

I want to understand whether this paragraph in the History section is cited correctly or not.

The word for Tea in most Indian languages is “Chai” suggesting trade with inland China before British colonization. Tea however became a popular beverage introduced to India by the British. Tea plants have grown wild in the Assam region since antiquity, but historically, Indians viewed tea as an herbal medicine rather than as a recreational beverage.[8]

Something about this citation really doesn't add up for me. What is the "J Amer Med Ed Assoc" and how is it different from J Amer Med Assoc? Why was it abbreviated this way and not as JAMA like in citation 4? How can it be 1925 and volume 5, if the JAMA only has volumes 84 and 85 that year? How is it pp. 16–19 if the "Deaths" section usually doesn't appear until way later in the issues?

The book is organised by French department numbers. I'm not sure if it's volume 9 but it should presumably be under chapter 62, which is definitely called Pas-de-Calais. The question is whether the references that are in the Rail section support the current wording of the text. Very likely that the book is offline and only available in France.

I came across this book and, judging by the author's description (Damien Somville), seems to be a very reliable source in describing the music of Swift's songs. Is there someone that could help me find the book's chapters for "ALBUM: Speak Now", its subchapters "Andrea Swift, Mom and Ally" and "Songwriting That Stands Out", and "ALBUM: Speak Now (Taylor's Version)"; even one of these chapters would be wonderful. This is so I could expand Speak Now (song) as well as If This Was a Movie.
