Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Consistent COI editing, edit warring. Cerebral726 (talk) 15:40, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

Declined Not only has this not flared up in a day, looking at it I think that Ms. Tranel may, however she chose to address them. have genuine issues that I have recommended she address through the Foundation offices. Daniel Case (talk) 03:49, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Semi-protection: BLP policy violations – Long-term disruption. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 23:16, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Edits today, nothing for a month before that, and then nothing for a couple of years. Daniel Case (talk) 04:00, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Temporary accounts with demonstrated COI ("on behalf of the subject") are editing the article. It's just two accounts so far but I think a short protection will send a message. Stefen 𝕋ower HuddleHandiwerk 23:40, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Just today's flurry. Try to get them to the talk page. Daniel Case (talk) 04:02, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Extended confirmed protection: Earlier, requested for semi protection, but still no improvement, IP vandalism is increasing ever since semi-protection got removed. Request for longer duration of protection. MNWiki845 (talk) 13:45, 7 March 2026 (UTC)

Question: @MNWiki845: Is the disruption limited to IPs (TAs, actually, now)? Extended confirmed is not necessary if it is. - The Bushranger One ping only 19:20, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
Actually, lot of IPs are vandalising the article and adding a lot of unecessary and fake stuff, that's why requested the same, even though semi protection would work but duration should be increased according to me! MNWiki845 (talk) 19:24, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
If not extended confirmed protection, then semi protection would work but i believe duration should be long, request the administrators to go through the history of article once. MNWiki845 (talk) 06:21, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent addition of unsourced or poorly sourced content. Gunther :  Talk  17:18, 7 March 2026 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Two such edits in the last month. Daniel Case (talk) 04:34, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Reason: Disruptive IP that necessitated an extended page protection for Brian Wilson last December has now shifted to persistently changing "songwriter" to "lyricist" in the lead for Mike Love. [1] [2] [3] ili (talk) 19:45, 7 March 2026 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level

Request removal of protection from a page, or reducing the current protection level

Before posting a request for unprotection, please discuss it with the protecting administrator first. You can create a request below only if you receive no response from them.

To find out which administrator protected the page, go to the page's edit history and click on the "View logs for this page" link (located underneath the page's title). The protecting administrator is listed in the protection log entry, next to the words "protected", "changed protection level", or "configured pending changes". If there are a large number of log entries on the page, use the drop-down menu near the top of the page and select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" to filter the logs accordingly.

DO NOT request a reduction in protection if...

  • ...you are being prevented from editing the page. A desire to change content is not a valid reason for unprotection. Instead:
    • If you can edit the article's talk page, use the WP:Edit Request Wizard to propose a change on the article's talk page. Include an explanation of the exact content that you want to change, and what the content will be afterward.
    • If the article's talk page is protected, you may propose a change at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Edit.
  • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is that the article has not been vandalized. That simply means the protection is working as intended.
  • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is basically "a long time has passed" without supporting details.
  • ...you haven't contacted the protecting administrator.

You may request a protection reduction below if...

  • ...you want to change the protection level of a template or module from full protection to template protection. You may add the request to this page without having to discuss it with the protecting administrator first.
  • ...you need to remove creation protection from a location where no page exists (redlinked pages) after a draft version of the intended article is prepared beforehand and ready to be published.
  • ...you are proposing a trial reduction in protection for a page that has been protected for several years, provided the proposal is supported by evidence such as talk page activity, page views, page traffic, number of watchers, frequency of edit requests, and prior history of vandalism.
  • ...the protecting administrator is inactive or has not responded to you in several days.

If you cannot locate your request, make sure to check the request archives to see if it's been moved there. Only requests that have been recently answered will still be listed here.

Reason: The article was semi-protected on February 26 by Daniel Case set to expire in May (I checked with him before posting here). I'm requesting that the protection be reduced to pending changes protection because there is a very substantive edit request on the talk page that seems to be in good faith and I think it would be good for the user to implement it themselves. ScrubbedFalcon (talk) 23:35, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

  • Automated comment: A request for protection/unprotection for one or more pages in this request was recently made, and was denied at some point within the last 8 days.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 23:36, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
  • I think what the bot is referring to is from when the page was protected, it was tagged as TA's blocked, but protection was added to the page. ScrubbedFalcon (talk) 07:01, 7 March 2026 (UTC)

Current requests for edits to a protected page

Request a specific edit be made to a protected page
Please add an edit request to the talk page of the protected page before adding an edit request here

Requests for specific edits should be made on the talk page of the protected article. You can create an edit request below only if the talk page is also protected, preventing you from adding a request there.

Otherwise, this is the correct place to use in order to add an edit request if you are unable to add one to the article's talk page. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to properly add a request.

Re-write the introduction to state the following:

The 2026 Iran War is the culmination of a decades-long campaign of aggression by the Islamic Republic of Iran, which had systematically funded, armed, and directed a network of proxy forces (including Hamas, Hezbollah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the Houthis) to wage war against Israel and destabilize the broader Middle East. The conflict's proximate roots lie in the October 7, 2023 Hamas terror attacks on Israel, which killed approximately 1,200 Israeli civilians in massacres documented as the deadliest assault on Jewish people since the Holocaust. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps provided Hamas with funding, weapons, and strategic guidance in the lead-up to the attack.

Following the 2023 Gaza war and the June 2025 Twelve-Day War, in which Iran directly fired ballistic missiles at Israeli territory, Israel and the United States concluded that Iran's missile program and nuclear ambitions posed an existential and unacceptable threat. On February 28, 2026, Israel and the United States launched coordinated preemptive strikes on Iranian military and government installations, targeting capabilities Iran had repeatedly used to threaten and attack both nations. Iran responded with missile and drone strikes against Israel, US bases, and regional allies. ~2026-14626-16 (talk) 00:31, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

I would re-write the entire article to something like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Sandbox&oldid=1342268659 --~2026-14626-16 (talk) 01:16, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Requests for autopatrolled

Autopatrolled

I have created over 150 mainspace articles (primarily in the area of Film and TV). While some of my earlier creations were deleted, the majority of my recent articles remain live, and I have refined my sourcing and notability assessment standards over time. I am familiar with WP:N, WP:BLP, WP:V and WP:RS and I ensure that all new articles meet notability and sourcing standards prior to creation. As I continue to create new articles...I believe autopatrolled would help reduce workload for NPP, as my pages generally require minimal follow-up. Reason for requesting extended confirmed rights: Hello. I was accused of creating trivial edits to "game" EP. However I do not believe this to be accurate. I posit that all my edits have contributed to Wikipedia and have been productive. If you look at the before and after of some of the pages I contributed to, Ashadeepam, The Lords of High Decision, Mercy on a Crutch, etc. I transformed them significant amount, turning template stubs into actual pages. I even painstakingly went through the entire Xylota genus to make sure each species page was more palatable than before.

As for the 'gaming' accusation... I only made two to three edits that are related to PIA, which were done weeks after getting EC, not immediately after, and they were moreso out of curiosity and not done on any page specifally about the Arab–Israel conflict.

I would like to mention I have some disabilities, such as nerve damage that causes pain in my dominant hand that sometime flares up, which makes it arbitrability harder to do longer tasks sometimes. Working in short bursts is more comfortable and often prevents pain. Tzedekha (talk) 06:42, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

I work with thousands of book cover images and also some film poster images and there are cases, though rare I will admit, where having this ability would be of use. I also accept and agree with the terms of use and the fact that some slight improvement of a file name move is not justification enough for using the permission. Could you explain your thought process behind marking Missa Hebié reviewed? Sohom (talk) 04:54, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
Hi Sohom_Datta, I can't see the article anymore, so going off memory here. I recall that the sources looked ok at first glance - and that there was a French article on him, but then the sources didn't pan-out upon closer inspection (and I think user was a sock trying to gain experience). If there's a way for me to view the deleted page, I could better explain my thinking. WidgetKid Converse 05:28, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
I've temporarily undeleted the history and article at User:Sohom_Datta/Missa_Hebié if that helps. Sohom (talk) 09:10, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
Thanks, Sohom_Datta. Here's my read on the sources for that article:
  • Faso-Actu: Coverage of Hebié's death and accomplishments, including positions with national film organization and *national television.
  • Infos Culture du Faso: Coverage of Hebié's death and accomplishments, including positions with national film organization and national television.
  • LeFaso: Coverage of Hebié's passing, including interviews with other film directors about his importance.
  • Africultures: Held Deputy Director of Programming for Burkina Faso's National Television.
  • RFI: Coverage of Hebié's latest film, but also prior works.
  • LeFaso: In-depth review of Hebié's work and considers whether he's a visionary.

That all seemed to add up to notability to me. In hindsight, I should have looked at Muhskk's history. Though I get why this was removed (user was a sock), but I still think the subject may be notable enough to warrant an article. WidgetKid Converse 15:13, 2 March 2026 (UTC)

I like to request New Page Reviewer rights to help with the NPP backlog. I have been active in AfC work (draft clean-ups, sourcing checks, NPOV/WP:PEACOCK fixes, and resubmissions) and I’m comfortable applying WP:GNG, WP:RS/WP:SECONDARY, WP:V and basic deletion processes. I created 3 articles and 11 drafts in the last one week and I have the NPP dashboard on my userpage (with "not a reviewer" note) for a while purely to monitor backlog while working on drafts, and I’m now looking to help on the review side as well. LionmerterTHE (talk) 08:45, 4 March 2026 (UTC)

(Non-administrator comment) You appear to be using AI to create most of your articles. This revision contains redundant information-free sentences typical of AI such as Early reporting has described these initial programmes as part of the operational rollout of the GBFF and an effort to scale up international biodiversity finance following adoption of the Global Biodiversity Framework. Please read WP:LLM and WP:NEWLLM. Helpful Raccoon (talk) 08:25, 5 March 2026 (UTC)
I just noticed that your userpage contains an "LLM-assisting Disclosure", which itself appears AI-generated, and marks two drafts (not the article I noted above) with "LLM assistance". Helpful Raccoon (talk) 10:26, 5 March 2026 (UTC)
Thank you @Helpful Raccoon. I don’t use AI for sourcing or facts, only occasionally for wording or light copy-editing, basically the same way someone might use a grammar tool. All facts and sources are checked by me against reliable independent sources before I publish anything. I added the disclosure on my user page simply to be transparent about that, and I make sure my edits follow WP:V, WP:NOR, and WP:LLM.
If I am not mistaken, I added the disclosure, once I understood that I should place it, from there on, I created Draft:SEC Cybersecurity Incident Disclosure Requirements with (LLM assistance tagged in my UP) and Corporate Transparency Act reporting requirements also tagged. Once both drafts got declined for "draft shows signs of having been generated by a large language model, " I almost deleted the entire articles and started manually from scratch.
Once the "Corporate Transparency Act reporting requirements" draft was published as article, I removed the tags on my UP.
My main interest is in revising tone, deleting promotional content, adding or removing categories with hotcat - reason I would love to help with NPP Backlog is upcoming interest in the process and to sincerely help the community. LionmerterTHE (talk) 07:39, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
You are using AI far more than "only occasionally for wording or light copy-editing". If you had actually carefully reviewed its output, you would not have added sentences like the one I noted above, or outright hallucinations like in [8] where you claim LUSAT-1 is frequently cited as a milestone in the development of Argentina's space activities when neither cited source claims it is a milestone or links it to broader space activities. I strongly advise you to stop using AI entirely when writing articles: correcting its mistakes is far more difficult than writing an article without AI. Why should you be trusted to review other people's work when you can't even check your own work? Helpful Raccoon (talk) 08:16, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
First of all, thanks for your straight forward feedback - I appreciate that. Just to clarify again, I don’t use AI for sourcing or facts - only for wording or structure, basically like a grammar tool. If I use an LLM only for a word or a single sentence in an article, I haven’t added an LLM assistance tag on my user page yet, but I will make sure to do so from now on. I think text that is backed by reliable, independent sources, with improved wording and structure, is not a bad thing - it’s an improvement.
My goal here is not to push pages through quickly, but to improve them.
I will withdraw my request for now and apply again in 12 months once I have gained more experience.
In a world driven by LLM and AI in general, I think, responsible adoption is inevitable.
Have a lovely day! LionmerterTHE (talk) 09:50, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
LionmerterTHE, Having reviewed your contributions, it appears that you included hallucinated references at Magion 1, can you please address the apparently missing and irrelevant citations? signed, Rosguill talk 20:11, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
Actually, on second thought, having now more carefully reviewed the exchange with Helpful Raccoon,  Not done; there's clearly too much reliance on the LLM here, even aside from the asserted intent to withdraw. signed, Rosguill talk 20:17, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

Hello! I'd like to request NPR rights. I've been actively contributing by editing articles, participating in AfDs as both a nominator and a voter, and assisting new users. I initially applied for the rights on a temporary basis so I could take part in the September 2025 backlog elimination drive. While I made a few mistakes early on, the experience helped me learn a great deal. Since then, I completed a trial run in October and another during the January–February backlog elimination drive to ensure I was fully prepared. I now feel confident enough in my understanding of the process and would like to request permanent NPR rights. — EarthDude (Talk) 19:45, 5 March 2026 (UTC)

Requests for page mover

Page mover

Hi, I requested pagemover rights in 2023 and my request was denied due to lack of demonstrated need for the tools. Recently I've been doing more AFC (and to a lesser extent NPP) work, which prompted Kj cheetham to suggest I reapply for this permission so that I could draftify articles without leaving behind redirects. (Most recently, I moved Karamsad Anand Municipal Corporation (which WP:DRAFTIFY says I was too quick to move, but the creator has previously created multiple similarly-problematic articles so I decided to IAR.) pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 13:34, 26 February 2026 (UTC)

Requests for rollback

Rollback

Hello! I am Phlogiston Enthusiast. I would like a moment of your time to request rollback rights. I believe that I could use rollback permissions to assist in anti-vandalism in the recent changes tab. There are multiple reasons for this. For one, it would streamline reverts on articles that need them, and be a useful tool against vandalism. This is because if a user is making edits of a vandalistic nature, they are likely to have made multiple. Rollback would assist with these issues and prevent long and drawn-out revert wars by vandals. Second, I believe that I meet the qualifications for the role. I possess experience patrolling the recent changes section, and have reverted many vandalous edits. If need be, I can attempt to provide a comprehensive list of the articles on which I have combatted vandalism. Finally, I understand that it looks bad to have had two arguments over vandalism-related subjects in the past. However, I would argue that this is almost the opposite, as having a clean record with no mistakes would mean that I had no mistakes to learn from, and as well I have apologized to all parties involved in both. In summary, I believe that I should possess rollback rights as to better combat vandalism, and if need be there can be elaboration. If not, I completely understand.

Ammending: this was written roughly a month ago. I was told that I would need one month's experience more before I should re-apply. I have since aqquired more than this. I have been the cause for scores of blocks and have better since de-vandalized the Wiki. Following my embarrasing mishap recently reguarding confusion over the tool, I have better researched it and now believe I would be more fit to utilize this. (Non-administrator comment) That isn't really relevant to rollback though; admins will check your edits when they review this, and reverts and counter-vandalism is what matters for rollback. HurricaneZetaC 16:40, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
Okay, sorry. Just trying to say I understand to an extent what does and does not break syntax. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 16:51, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
Also worth ammending is that it would provide access to interceptor, which is a useful tool I believe I could do a great deal of antivandalism with in a way that is more efficient than the typical recent changes page. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 18:33, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
Also of note: I am now a Pending Changes Reviewer. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 14:49, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
(Non-administrator comment) Phlogiston Enthusiast, an admin will review the needed information. I don't see how a lot of these notes are relevant to rollback; pending changes requires some overlapping skills with rollback (such as the ability to effectively determine what is vandalism), but it is an entirely different right for good reason, and does require different skills. Rollback's primary purpose is to assist with recent changes patrolling. 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) (contributions) 21:53, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
Okay, sorry. Just trying to put everything on the table here. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 02:25, 28 February 2026 (UTC)

I would like to renew my rollback rights, because I have been using AntiVandal constructively, and the same other reasons as my most recent request. Theeverywhereperson talk here 11:14, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

Namely:
  1. I am a recent changes patroller and have been patrolling for a few months now,
  2. I have made more than 700 edits in mainspace and more than 1700 edits in total,
  3. Since I am already a pending changes reviewer, I am also used to reverting vandalism in some areas where it isn't visible to everyone yet, so I think I am trained for the job,
  4. This would allow me to use tools like AntiVandal to revert vandalism easier and faster, for the benefit of Wikipedia as a whole.

I have met the minimum requirements of 6 months of editing and over 300 enwiki edits. I do anti-vandalism work through patrolling recent changes. I believe that having the TAIV permission would help me to identify and deal with instances of vandalism from one user across multiple temporary accounts.

I recognise the additional responsibility from this permission and I would only use it where necessary, primarily to investigate and counter vandalism. I have read through the criteria for use and agree to using this permission in accordance with that and with the WMF guidelines. Nyancat5249 (talk) 20:21, 5 March 2026 (UTC)
