Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Austria

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Austria. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.

Adding a new AfD discussion
Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
  1. Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
  2. You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Austria|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
Removing a closed AfD discussion
Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
Other types of discussions
You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Austria. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
Further information
For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to Europe.

I couldn't find any WP:SIGCOV that satisfies me that he meets WP:NFOOTY and therefore fails and also fails WP:GNG. He did have an MLS contract but he never actually played a regular season game for the Seattle Sounders. Servite et contribuere (talk) 14:43, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Low-level football player in Europe. Could not find any SIGCOV. I couldn't even find anything from his college career (other than three brief passing mentions), which isn't surprising considering he only played in one game at Florida Atlantic (and somehow made a solo tackle) Note that he is called "Conner Miller" in some sources. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 13:55, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Delete: Seems to fail GNG. The article may also attribute the actions of a separate athlete with a similar name to this person. CabinetCavers (talk) 14:22, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Delete per above Sanemero the Robot Prince (not really, it's a Gloryhammer reference) 15:11, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Non-notable individual. The sources here are not enough to establish WP:GNG because they are largely not WP:SIGCOV or are not independent of the subject.

Also worth noting that this article was likely created by the subject as WP:PROMO. Accounts related to the subject have a long history of self-promotional disruptive sockpuppet editing both on enwiki and dewiki. See SPI page for more info. The event described in this article appears to be non-notable. Sources do not establish WP:GNG as they are mostly either not independent of the subject, or not WP:SIGCOV, or are actually explanatory notes. Per WP:NEVENT the coverage needs to show a lasting impact from the event; this appears to have just been something like pseudo-legal performance art.

Also worth noting the article was created by a banned sockpuppet linked to one of the event organisers, Christian Michelides, who has an extensive history of using sockpuppets to create WP:PROMO articles about himself. See more at the SPI page. David Palmer//cloventt (talk) 03:04, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The article's relevance is questionable. Most of it consists of genealogical information and information about his work as a trade commissioner in Austria and a naturalist. One book from 1949 is also mentioned, but this information cannot be verified. In my opinion, the above information is insufficient to substantiate the article's relevance.
