Adding a new AfD discussion

The article should definitely not have been created directly in mainspace in this condition; it's completely unsourced, and I can't find any third-party sources on Google either. Martín Urdiroz

Much of the prose is about his family while the sources are all about his brothers and barely make mention of Martín, who played a handful of games in his lone top-flight season with his brother as his coach. Even contemporary sources all seem to be trivial mentions in game lineups, leaving us with database entries. I understand creating this article from a completionist perspective, but, as per WP:SPORTBASIC, All sports biographies... must include at least one reference to a source providing significant coverage of the subject. Marbella International Film Festival

Non notable film festival. Lacks coverage in independent reliable sources. Google.es news search for "Festival Internacional de Cine de Marbella" found multiple hits but they are of the press release type from individual actors/films saying look what I won or look our film is playing instead of being coverage of the festival itself. (Note, my Spanish is lacking so there was a large reliance on machine translation.) That or straight press release, eg the 20minutos source added by A .B. Kyle Hill

I came across this article whilst looking for the YouTube educator. (who apparently doesn't have an article at this time) Asides from a few external links, there appears to be only one source for this biographical article about a basketball player. Withdrawn. When I hastily made my nomination, I assumed the article would be held to the same (or similarly high) notability standards as biographical articles for YouTubers like J. J. McCullough, Mr. Beat and Sambucha, and other sportspeople like Armand Biniakounou and Patrick Chiwala. (I don't really care as much about these two, just thought I'd mention them as examples) Nonetheless, I take away the following from this:

Articles on sportspeople are held to some standards, but apparently those standards may not be as high as the standards for articles about influencers. (I might have run with a fallacy here)
If I had wanted to bring other editors' attention to an article, I could've just tagged it as needing "immediate attention", but that can only be done through certain WikiProject banners. In my experience, tagging an article for "immediate attention" on its talk page ironically seems less effective (than an AfD nomination) at drawing a reasonable amount of attention to an article within a reasonable amount of time.

Keep This is an incredibly lazy nomination that relies on others to do the work on behalf of the nominator. As Hill was a prominent enough basketball player in Europe, I was able to farm [2] [3] from other languages, [4] is a good article and [5] [6] are other sources. It doesn't look like the nominator saw themselves as the person addressed by the text of WP:BEFORE, but that is how we conventionally mean it - you are supposed to do some due diligence before nominating, as opposed to nominating and expecting others to do it. We're all volunteers, and it's fair to expect some investment of time up front given that you expect others to do some investment of time to then double-check that and back you up. Likewise, a lack of {{inline citations}} (and references being merely links) is a cleanup issue, not a reason for deletion. 1959 Dwight D. Eisenhower visit to Spain

The entire article was created in a single edit by User:Hectordej7544 ... and it is a fishy article. No in-line citations; only two sources. And both sources are very broad, generic sources (not specific to the 1959 visit). Another editor tagged the article as "AI-generated".

The WP:Verifiability is paramount, and articles need footnotes and citations to provide confidence. In addition, the editor that creates the articles should have READ the sources before creating the article.

These are all between 51 and 63 years after the event. So definitely not breaking news, passes the 10 years test, and WP:SUSTAINED. This is all enough to pass WP:GNG. WP:NOTNEWS just does not apply to something that had retrospective coverage 50 years after the fact. WP:LASTING is not even required for an event to be notable (it's a proxy to assess recent events), but anyway, sources deem this visit to be a pivotal moment in Francoist Spain international image, since the Government was pretty much isolated until that era. I think we have another skim reader. Shame the wiki community is so full of them. May I respectfully remind the administrator assessing this that this very nomination for deletion was made under false pretenses of nonexistent social media and self published citations. There are none.
Multiple independent sources outline over a dozen TV series episodes Stacey participated in with national distribution, as well as her participation and placing 1st Runner-Up in the 2024 Miss Universe Philippines competition are noted. This is in addition to her success in the national Binibining Pilipinas pageant. This, in addition to a nationally recognized prison ministry program.

2016 is breaking news about closing the case, 2017 and 2018 are breaking news about reopening the case, 2019 is breaking news about reclosing the case, 2021 is breaking news about a memorial (but also has significant coverage of the crash itself), the 2023 sources are about the driver's death and the subsequent end of the case, and 2021 (which you listed as 2023) is breaking news about a memorial. The 2021 source is promising, but I'd hope for at least one source that actually demonstrated that it's notable in its own right as opposed to contemporary coverage over a long period of time. The one in 2021 provides non-breaking news in-depth coverage, as you already noticed, and that is sustained coverage:

Delete I don't think this single event merits its own page. Does not have WP:CONTINUEDCOVERAGE, it has follow ups on opening/closing of case, but I don't think they establsih notability of the event.
