Round 8
- User:Iselilja. Renewal. Mostly English Wikipedia lately, but also Norwegian bokmål Wikipedia. I write about society and politics, so newspaper articles are of high interest. I have found HighBeam especially valuable for topics from non-English speaking countries (other than Scandinavian) because there are often a draught of sources for those topics. Regards, Iselilja (talk) 17:30, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- User:درفش کاویانی. Renewal. My account has expired, and I would like to extend it please. im ctive in Persian Wikipedia, Tajik Wikipedia, English Wikipedia and German Wikipedia. Thanks Darafsh Kaviyani (Talk) 15:36, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- User:TenPoundHammer. Renewal. Expired and I'd like to extend. I'm mainly active on retail and country music articles, and the Highbeam subsription was extremely useful in fleshing out mall articles. I've been editing since December 2005 and have created nearly 1,500 articles. Highbeam has a lot of information that is of great use to me. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 04:00, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- User:MrX. Renewal - I have used Highbeam extensively over the past year to add references to newly created and existing articles. I have more than 30,000 edits and have created 138 articles. Thank you for your consideration. - MrX 12:21, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- User:Malik Shabazz Renewal. I've been an editor since 2006 and have made more than 76,000 edits. Very helpful resource. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 18:48, 6 October 2013 (UTC)
- User:Gobonobo. Renewal. Despite having library access to many databases, I often find myself wanting access to HighBeam sources. I intend to use access to work on historical biographies of women. Gobōnobō + c 20:20, 6 October 2013 (UTC)
- WhisperToMe (talk · contribs) - I have been active editor for about a decade and I would like to have Highbeam to help expand my sourcing. I do not have highbeam access from an alternate source. WhisperToMe (talk) 17:39, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
- 4nn1l2 (talk · contribs). Persian Wikipedia. It's the second year I'm editing on Wikipedia and of course enjoying it. I usually write about Middle East history, culture, and societies. Aside from Middle East topics, I enthusiastically edit articles on engineering and fundamental sciences. I have wrote 2 Featured article yet and expanded a whole bunch of other ones. I intend to expand my work on Wikipedia but unfortunately due to recent sanctions against Iran, I have lost my access to digital libraries. I really appreciate it if you let me have access to HighBeam. 4nn1l2 (talk) 11:36, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
- User:Shalbat. Spanish Wikipedia. I have more than 24 000 edits and I have created more than 200 articles. I would like to go on with this work. --Shalbat (talk) 15:07, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
- User:Smsarmad Renewal, I am an active English Wikipedia user and have more than 26,000 edits. I mostly edit articles related to Pakistan, a topic area that lacks in a number of ways, one of which is availability of online sources. HighBeam is a good resource and was helpful in creating/expanding a number of articles. -- SMS Talk 10:25, 10 October 2013 (UTC)
- User:Mackensen Renewal. I've used HighBeam over the last year to improve our coverage of North American railroading topics. I do not have access from an alternative source. Thank you. Mackensen (talk) 13:05, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
- User:Czar. enwp. History of education, art, and video games—mostly content expansion, new articles, but also source verification. I've hit the paywall dozens of times in the last year and my institution doesn't have HB access. My research time spent would be greatly improved with access. czar ♔ 13:12, 15 October 2013 (UTC)

Thank you, -- Doc Taxon (talk) 13:47, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
- User:Blackberry Sorbet. Interest lies largely in articles that often predate the commonality of the internet and access to HighBeams digitized archives of older print publications would be extremely useful in sourcing material as well as opening avenues for new articles which might otherwise fall by the wayside for lack of access to sources. BlackberrySorbet 18:24, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

- DCDuring. Most active as admin at English Wiktionary. We constantly need to attest to usage in a wide range of subject areas. One of our particular weaknesses is in coverage of terms used in contemporary workplace, especially other than computing. That in turn is partially attributable to lack of access to trade press, not well covered at Google or other free sources. English Wiktionary is an important resource for other wiktionaries. DCDuring (talk) 00:53, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
- Roisterer (talk) 01:23, 28 October 2013 (UTC) Active member since 2004 with 22,000 & a bit edits, a couple of GAs and lots of article creation and editing, all of which would be greatly improved with a HighBeam subscription.
- Froid (talk) 08:05, 28 October 2013 (UTC). I meet the requirements and will fulfill expectations. Highbeam will enhance my contributions to Wikipedia; I've long wanted access, as when conducting research for the purposes of contributing or verification of preexisting content, I frequently encounter sources for which a subscription is required. My stats: # Froid (talk) 08:05, 28 October 2013 (UTC). First edit Sep 09, 2006 / Unique pages edited: 7,401 / Live edits: 20,734 / Deleted edits: 0 / Total edits (including deleted): 20,734.

Although I have access to some other databases that I use for the Resource Exchange, I do not have HighBeam access. John M Baker (talk) 20:46, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
- Doug Coldwell. New. English Wikipedia. I work on articles about colonial people of the United States. I have about 300 Did You Know articles and over 20,000 edits. I do not have HighBeam access and believe it would give good biographical information.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 19:16, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
- Acather96 - New. I've been an editor on Wikipedia for nearly four years with 29000+ edits, would find access to sources extremely useful(especially if they include information on plants). Acather96 (click here to contact me) 20:55, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
- User:HueSatLum – New. English Wikipedia. I write about just about everything and find paywalls extremely frustrating. I believe HighBeam would provide more and higher-quality sources for writing better and more accurate articles. Cheers, ~HueSatLum 18:42, 5 December 2013 (UTC)

- User:Sagaciousphil New English Wikipedia. I'm a fairly slow and ploddy editor in comparison to most but I like working on historical information; I do have access to some databases through my library card and I pay for Questia myself. - RL0919 (talk · contribs) Over 8 years and more than 21K edits. I've written and expanded a number of articles about people, books, and plays from the 20th century, topics for which HighBeam should have useful source material. - Hobbes Goodyear (talk · contribs) - My initial one-year account has expired--I would like to renew. With Google News archive out of commission, I think that having Highbeam access has become even more important. I just created a new article on a subject where references are tough to come by, and there are two on Highbeam I'd like to include. --Hobbes Goodyear (talk) 13:38, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
- EricEnfermero (talk · contribs) - Renewal; on English WP for about two years, >11,000 edits. I focus largely on content creation, particularly related to biographies in sports, psychology and medicine. HighBeam has been helpful in expanding articles, including successful GA nominations. EricEnfermero HOWDY! 05:02, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
- Grolltech (talk · contribs) - Renewal; Have enjoyed using HighBeam over the last year, as I have found it to be very useful. I had a whole bunch of articles staged for use – I just added one the night before last, went to bed, but by morning the account had expired. Hoping all of that good research I've accumulated wasn't for naught. —Grollτech (talk) 12:21, 22 January 2014 (UTC)
- Jeremy112233 (talk · contribs). English Wikipedia. I have spent 2-3 years editing Wikipedia and focus most of my attention on content generation. All of my reference use full citation information, which helps users to verify the information I add to the encyclopedia even if they do not have access to the pay-site's articles. Most of my articles require a large amount of research as they deal with contemporary issues where the sources I need are often behind paywalls rather than available freely on Google's reference searches like Scholar or News. That said, they just changed the Google News search so the old Archive function is no longer available, providing even less good sources to create articles. My articles are largely on law, medical, or entertainment related people or firms, and Highbeam would make my articles better researched, and allow me to create articles on subjects I may otherwise not be able to. I do not currently have ready access to HighBeam through either a university or a library. Jeremy112233 (talk) 16:39, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
- Lwarrenwiki (talk · contribs). English Wikipedia. My first edit was in Aug. 2013, and I have been quite active since then, with over 500 edits. If you have any flexibility in your requirements, I would very much appreciate being able to access your resources with a free account. I am diligent in providing detailed citations to references, and it's clear to me that HighBeam can allow me to provide higher quality in my editing and will greatly enhance my research. My areas of interest are listed at User:Lwarrenwiki, and I have seen that HighBeam covers (for example) major city newspapers with reporting of music-related events, as well as music criticism. I fully expect that I would be using HighBeam regularly for greater quality. I do not have other sources of free access. I respectfully request your approval for a free account. Thanks for your consideration. Lwarrenwiki (talk) 22:51, 27 January 2014 (UTC) - updated 05:17, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

- User:Tokyogirl79 - I'm a frequent flier at AfDs and other deletion type scenarios, but I frequently find myself in situations where I need to check older articles that are not visible on the Internet. I edit mostly film and book related articles, but I also edit articles on various other topics that could predate news coverage on the Internet. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 10:38, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
- User:Storye book. I've been an editor here for 9 years; I've created over 50 DYK articles including one GA, and a load more of created or expanded articles. A lot of the articles are on buildings, structures and people, plus other historical subjects; all are fully cited. I have contributed over 2000 own-work and archival photographs to WP and Commons, and am listed as an auto-patroller on Commons. I do have access to certain online databases, mainly via my local library membership, but this tends to be limited to UK databases, - so Highbeam, for example, would expand my research worldwide. I'm currently working on an article on a 19-century church, with associated biographical articles, including artists of the Arts and Crafts movement. --Storye book (talk) 09:50, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
- TheBigJagielka (talk · contribs) - I've been editing for about four years, I have made many edits and most of my edits are on historical association football competitions. TheBigJagielka (talk) 19:38, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
- Bearcat. Active in new article creation and referencing improvements, predominantly in the areas of Canadian politics, LGBT topics and Canadian and international film, TV, music and literature. For a long time I wasn't sure if this project would actually be useful to me or not, but nowadays I quite frequently run into HighBeam previews in the course of trying to track down sources, so I figure I may as well give it a shot. Bearcat (talk) 22:08, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
- User:Brianhe. Active Wikimedia project: WikiProject Motorcycling. Have added HighBeam to many articles (with credit of course), my account apparently just expired. HighBeam used for a variety of research on vehicles, biographies and miscellany. -- Brianhe (talk) 06:03, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

- User:Krimuk90. Renewal. I have been the principal contributor to 3 featured articles on Indian film artists. The Highbeam tool enabled me to find a lot of references, something that is otherwise difficult due to limited sources available for older Hindi film articles. A renewal of my account would significantly help me continue editing other film-related articles. Thanks. --krimuk 90 04:04, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

- User:Gaurav Pruthi Had used Highbeam for citing various articles earlier. Hope to get my subscription renewed.Gaurav Pruthitalk 09:38, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
- User:ColonelHenry. Mostly on the English Wikipedia, although I do translate English content into Farsi for that project. As of March 2014, almost 17,000 edits, several FAs and GAs (listed on my userpage), I generally focus on content creation and improvement especially towards articles on poetry, literature, historical biographies, regional history and historical places/landmarks, looking to expand my work into theology and botany. Often I get an odd urge to edit an article I happen to come across randomly, and with access to more tools, I would do that more often. I would be honoured to have access and make good use of it and would gladly help other editors looking for certain journal, newspaper, or other resources.--ColonelHenry (talk) 07:34, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
- User:TransporterMan. English Wikipedia. I do dispute resolution and am the second most active volunteer at 3O, the most active at DRN, and a member of the Mediation Committee. - User:MrBill3. WP:WikiProject Medicine, WP:WikiProject Citation cleanup, WP:WikiProject Nursing, WP:WikiProject Skepticism. Formatting refs on hundreds of articles, adding archive versions of refs. Adding and improving refs on many articles. Verification of references on many articles. Adding content and refs to a significant number of articles. Top ten contributor to medical articles in 2013. Contribution of content to articles on scientists and skeptics. I am a very active editor. I use the resources I have access to extensively, the addition of HighBeam would help me verify references and improve my ability to contribute content and sources as well as provide sources for existing content. - - MrBill3 (talk) 05:04, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
- Dezastru (talk · contribs). English-language Wikipedia editor since January 2012, with 3,000+ edits. Most of my contributions involve American history, politics and current events, and biographies. My local library recently eliminated online access to archived news sources due to budget cuts, which has substantially limited my research options. Dezastru (talk) 17:05, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
- User:Shakehandsman Editor since 2006 with over 11,000 edits. Working on Wikiproject British Crime articles including creating a good article almost single handedly. Also work on politics, biographies, and football. I often add refs for unreferenced material. I intend to continue the same work into the future and would really benefit from access to additional sources that Highbeam provides.--Shakehandsman (talk) 08:44, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

- Dom497. I have been active since 2011 and have made over 11,000 edits. I work largely with Amusement Park related articles. I used to be able to find news articles through Google Archives which provided articles from almost a decade ago. I used these article to get several roller coaster articles to the GA or FA level. Google has since removed the archive feature and is now hard to find news archives. I've done a few searches on some roller coasters through the database (you search without an account, just can't read them) and found lots of articles that would really help.--Dom497 (talk) 18:56, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

- User:JonRichfield. In the past four years or so I have done well over 3000 edits, and a fair proportion of my work has been on articles that I initiated. Most of the topics that I deal with are substantial, plus many RFCs (no groupie celeb touting for example). Most of my work is in a wide range of scientific and technical matters, particularly biological and computing, though I deal with a certain amount of historical and philological material as well. I am not familiar with HighBeam resources, but it sounds extremely valuable for some kinds of data search for up-to date citable material. A good proportion of my work is in dealing with "citation wanted" texts, so my requirements for reputable citations is atypically high. I am retired and cannot often reach the local university libraries and it is not clear to me that the HighBeam resources would be available there even if I could. I do not apply for any material benefit to myself nor to any third party, commercial or otherwise. In short, if I find that HighBeam resources are appropriate to my work, I not only would be able to put them to good use, but would in the process be publicising their value in good faith and without reducing their market value. I remark that I am thoroughly aware of my responsibilities in protecting the interests of the publisher. Thank you for your attention. JonRichfield (talk) 20:02, 29 April 2014 (UTC)

- Wtmitchell (talk · contribs) - I'm an active editor in a wide range of topical areas -- probably most active in articles about or mentioning the Philippines. I also do a lot of anti-vandal work using WP:Huggle. All of that often involves to looking for sources to support or refute unsupported content added to articles. I'll use HighBeam as a tool for locating sources. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 07:46, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- User:Mabalu Mabalu - my main focus is fashion and textiles articles, incluidng biographical articles, but I do edit generally across Wikipedia depending on what I come across, focused on both creating new articles, and verifying & sourcing existing ones. Often it is difficult to find material due to the nature of fashion writing online (many blogs, bumft, and non-RS) so I think Highbeam would be VERY helpful for me here with providing good sources and citations. Mabalu (talk) 15:34, 25 July 2014 (UTC)
- User:The Drover's Wife The Drover's Wife - I'm primarily interested in Australian history, and there's a number of journals on HighBeam in particular that I'd love to get my hands on. I don't have journal access by any other means, so on a number of topics (labour history being one I just found a thrilling amount of content on) I could do much more work with this access. - User:JackofOz: When researching articles, I have often been frustrated to find a tantalising High Beam first page online but am unable to read further. I am very active, mainly in the the area of classical music. I have well over 100,000 edits and have initiated many hundreds of articles. Thanks. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 23:23, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
- User:SL93 I would like HighBeam access to research content for expanding and writing articles, as well as search for sources in AfD. I'm active in AfD, DYK, and article creation/expansion. I had to take a break for a while for my education with only edits here and there, but I am now able to contribute like I used to. I have thousands of edits and my account has been open for a few years. Edit- I might have add account assess Wikipedia before. SL93 (talk) 00:19, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

- Torchiest: I'd had access to HighBeam from September 2012 to August 2013 and used it to reference a huge number of borderline BLPs. I'd love to renew after a year break. I anticipate referencing more BLPs, as well as old media like music and video games from 1980s and 1990s, for which online sources are scant, and some science-related articles here and there. Thanks! —Torchiest talkedits 04:16, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

- The Whispering Wind - Google News is becoming increasingly ineffective for identifying sources relating to schools and other education articles and such articles risk being deleted not because the sources do not exist but because they are not accessible.
