Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Crime
![]() | Points of interest related to Crime on Wikipedia: Portal – Category – WikiProject – Deletions – Stubs – Assessment |
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Crime. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Crime|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Crime. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

Shakily sourced controversy article; creating editor was blocked from editing Bagong Henerasyon (along with everyone else for now) for adding undue weight and poor Reddit-based blog sourcing about a minor controversy involving that organization, so they're taking their grievances to any other article related to BH they can find and creating what reads here as an unbalanced attack page (originally titled DV Boer Scam) against the organization using this company's issues to COATRACK about BH and related organizations, along with Roberto Gerard Nazal Jr.. - Comment: For what it's worth (which isn't much), it would appear that DV Boer itself has no article — just this one about the controversy surrounding it. (Granted, it probably isn't impossible for an otherwise non-notable company to still have notable controversies; I offer no opinion as to whether that is the case here.) WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 02:50, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
- I did take that in mind in nominating this; if there was a company article to redirect to I would not send this here, but straight off it's just an immediate attack with no context outside 'company bad', along with them trying to shove their view of BH anywhere they can. Nathannah • 📮 03:04, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
- I cannot find any information about the company beyond its probably links to the Members Church of God International by MCGI Exiters group. While personally I could sympathize their cause, it remains a fringe movement which have not or will probably not be picked up by the mainstream media outlets which would have helped establish WP:SIGCOV. However, alas Wikipedia ultimately not a place to WP:RIGHTGREATWRONGS Hariboneagle927 (talk) 05:26, 25 May 2025 (UTC)

- Keep until we have an article about the event. Or just add "Death of" to the title. WP:BIO1E does not suggest deletion, it suggests renaming or merging. We could add "death of" to the title.
- What 1E says is this: 'When an individual is significant for their role in a single event, it may be unclear whether an article should be written about the individual, the event or both. In considering whether to create separate articles, the degree of significance of the event itself and of the individual's role within it should both be considered. The general rule is to cover the event, not the person. However, if media coverage of both the event and the individual's role grow larger, separate articles may become justified. ... Another issue arises when an individual plays a major role in a minor event. In this case, it is not generally appropriate to have separate articles on the person and the event. Generally in this case, the name of the person should redirect to the article on the incident, especially if the individual is only notable for that incident and it is all that the person is associated with in the source coverage.'
- Nowhere here suggests deletion. PARAKANYAA (talk) 03:11, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- I would also support this, however the subject is also notable in the aspect of the story about his police dog Thehistorianisaac (talk) 03:26, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- Isn't that also kind of about the event though? I oppose deletion in any case. PARAKANYAA (talk) 03:27, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- I agree with your opinion, but the subject gained significant coverage in two separate events which are interlinked:
- In 2011 when he was killed in action(now, this itself would not guarantee notability, but it shows he has been covered for multiple events)
- In 2021 when the CCTV-7 video went viral of his police dog waiting for him.
- Either way, I would support keeping the article. Thehistorianisaac (talk) 04:03, 22 May 2025 (UTC)

- Keep but also support changing the title to include "Death of ...." as this person appears to be primarily notable for the manner of his death. Also the behaviour of his police dog appears notable because of his death and contributes to persistent coverage of the death. As already observed, WP:BIO1E is more about what to write the article about and the article should be about the event, not the person. - Contesting Deletion
- This article substantially improves upon the previously deleted version by adding verifiable, independent sources demonstrating Ilyas El Maliki’s notability per WP:GNG:
- Global Digital Influence: Ranked by Dexerto as the 12th-largest Kick streamer worldwide and Africa’s #1.
- International Sports Role: Official chairman of Morocco’s national team at the Kings World Cup 2024, (Video of the game on Kings League's channel), with repeat invitation for 2025 alongside stars like Lamine Yamal.
- Addressing Systemic Bias
- While I respect Wikipedia’s deletion processes, I must note the recurring difficulty in establishing notability for clearly significant figures from Morocco and the broader MENA region. Despite providing verifiable, independent sources (including industry rankings and international tournament participation), articles like this face disproportionate scrutiny compared to Western counterparts with similar or lesser achievements.
- I urge editors to consider whether this reflects unconscious bias rather than policy compliance. Improve articles, not deleting them, should always be the first option. ~~~~ Rap no Davinci (talk) 19:30, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
- Delete or speedy delete per previous AfD, little change. PARAKANYAA (talk) 20:16, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
- Contesting Deletion
- the original article of the subject got deleted because claimed "No real sign of notability", I list a number of sources proving that the subject is indeed notable:
- - International Tournament Participation: Kings League World Cup 2025.
- - Top 15 Streamers Worldwide: ranked at 12.
- - Massive coverage by Moroccan press both in English (more), and Arabic.
- if all these still don't make the subject notable, then sure go ahead and delete. ~~~~ Rap no Davinci (talk) 10:27, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
- Update:
- just to add one more thing (a fact and a message):
- The first 3 months of 2023, the subject of this article was the most streamed gamer on YouTube, surpassing IShowSpeed, all this achieved through a dialect (Darija) spoken by about 40 million people, not a major language (English spoken by over 2 billion people). But somehow he is not notable!
- It's really demotivating to continue contributing to Wikipedia against all these (unconscious) biases. This is not an accusation, it's studied and proved, "Reliability of Wikipedia". We come here with good intention to contribute, but seems like not on English Wikipedia, unfortunately. El Maliki is literally the biggest streamer in all of Africa according to all reliable sources included (like Dexerto).
- respectfully, ~~~~ Rap no Davinci (talk) 15:06, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- Keep (still new here, I just learnt that this is the right term)!
- so, since these discussions are NOT VOTES, then it should be that if 1 editor is able to present sufficient RSs on the subject, it won't matter how many spam "speedy delete"
- Allow me to list an organized number of RSs testifying to the notability of the subject of this article:
- The most watched streaming gamer of the first quarter of 2023 (surpassing IShowSpeed), Dexerto & SVG.
- The 6th highest peak viewed stream on Kick's history (Surpassing Adin Ross, he literally had a stream with President Trump while running for office, still got surpassed by a guy speaking a dialect of 40 million people), Dexerto.
- 12th biggest streamer worldwide, Dexerto.
- His Ultra was the first team selected for the 2025 Kings World Cup Club, the official and sole chairman of the Kingdom of Morocco on a world-class international competition, Kings League Pro.
- His life largely covered by multiple RS in different languages: UAE's Al Mashhad, Morocco's most popular press outlets and most RSs: MWN, L'Opinion, Hespress, Le360, and much more.
- It's not that difficult to look up stuff on Google. Best ~~~~ Rap no Davinci (talk) 16:39, 21 May 2025 (UTC)

WP:NOTNEWS, racist and violent football-related riots which happen sadly quite often. Can perhaps be a short paragraph in some other article, don't know where though, but not enough to be a separate article. Keep – the article does not describe just another hooligan riot, but a case of significant socio-political unrest in Belgium. 80 people were injured, including children, policemen and a man with serious gunshot wounds. this is very unusual. there have been many political reactions at national level and official commemorations. several foreign media have covered these events, including in France (RMC Sport, La Dépêche, So Foot), Spain (Diario AS) and the Netherlands (NOS), which demonstrates international notability of these events. the argument that we don't yet know whether this will have a lasting impact doesn't hold water, because the impact is already there, widely covered by reliable secondary sources. --GloBoy93 (talk) 16:20, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
- Keep Somewhat ref-bombed, however I've read some of the French articles, this seems like a notable event. There are multiple issues with the article and its structure. The article needs renaming. - Merge short summary to R.S.C. Anderlecht–Club Brugge KV rivalry This needs a serious edit to summarize what happened and it's well into TOOLONG territory (neighboring countries mentioning the event in rundown form is unremarkable, especially in the EU), and it can be summarized there as just a mention of the club's hooligans taking things too far. I certainly do not want it deleted, but if the article target is inappropriate I can switch it, no issue. Nathannah • 📮 00:44, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

- October 2024 Deir al-Balah mosque bombing (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
These articles fail WP:GNG. The only coverage is WP:ROUTINE news reporting in the immediate aftermath of the incidents, with no indication of WP:SUSTAINED or WP:LASTING coverage. Wikipedia is WP:NOTNEWS and should not be the paper of record for every isolated act of violence, regardless of scale or tragedy, as part of broader conflagrations.
The presence of significant casualties is not, in itself, a criterion for notability under Wikipedia policy. Notability must be established through multiple, independent, and reliable sources that provide substantial coverage beyond mere event reporting. In these cases, such coverage is absent.
These nominations are being made in the interest of consistency and in light of WP:NPOV. Both Israeli and Palestinian-related events should be evaluated under the same criteria and to avoid selectively retaining articles based on the nationality of the victims.
By contrast, articles like 13 July 2024 al-Mawasi attack (Palestinian) and 2021 Tapuah Junction shooting (Israeli) meet notability due to broad and enduring media analysis and public discourse. These stand in stark contrast to the transient coverage seen in the articles nominated here and mirror the community's consensus to merge 2024 Tarqumiyah shooting (Israeli) and Shadia Abu Ghazala School corpses (Palestinian).
The nominated articles can be and should be merged into Timeline of the Gaza war. Longhornsg (talk) 20:01, 24 April 2025 (UTC)

- Oppose deletion of 2025 al-Funduq shooting, 29 October 2024 Beit Lahia airstrike, and October 2024 Deir al-Balah mosque bombing
- Generally, per WP:LASTING, "It may take weeks or months to determine whether or not an event has a lasting effect. This does not, however, mean recent events with unproven lasting effect are automatically non-notable."
- The al-Funduq shooting was only 3 months ago, so it is still recent. The death of one of the perpetrators was also mentioned as recently as last week, so that seems to have WP:SUSTAINED coverage.
- The Beit Lahia airstrike and Deir al-Balah bombing are both mentioned in South Africa's “Public dossier of openly available evidence on the State of Israel’s acts of genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza, as of 4 February 2025” (although the latter is only in a footnote). That these events will be used as evidence in the genocide case makes them lasting. The events are also recent enough that it feels slightly over-zealous to delete.
- Not WP:SIGCOV, mentioned in several of over 100 footnotes in a 220+ page legal document. Longhornsg (talk) 00:59, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
- Significant coverage was already established through WP:DIVERSE coverage in WP:RS, which is enough per WP:NTEMP.

- Keep all per EVENT and NOTROUTINE. While it is a bit early for SUSTAINED, similar debates have shown that terroristic events get included in books and revisited in newspapers, reports (as above), and databases. Every such event gets included in the national database with ample information. While we have too much coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on Enwiki, so in this sense I have sympathy for this nomination, these events pass the applicable guidelines. It is my observation that Israelis keep revisiting terror events in newspapers, books and reports. We should really create more coverage of all the rest. gidonb (talk) 14:57, 27 April 2025 (UTC)

- Keep. I disagree this is routine coverage. A lethal shooting attack on a bus and passing cars such as the one discussed in this article, is not considered "routine" under our policy because it is inherently unpredictable, violent, and has lasting national or international consequences, unlike scheduled or everyday events such as press conferences, sports matches, or local awards, which the policy provides as examples for routine events.
