This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Albums and songs. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Albums and songs|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Albums and songs. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

Probably not an appropriate article for that. Some of the page's content is described at Music of Nepal but I do not think that redirection or merge would suffice. Article was moved to draftspace despite one decline, and I could not find any sources describing this topic and not the music of the country in general. - Delete: Poorly written article. The title of the article doesn't match the article. Maybe Newar music? But there doesn't seem to be enough differences between Newar music and Nepalese one. I don't see any way to salvage this article. — Itzcuauhtli11 (talk) 14:21, 27 May 2025 (UTC)
- Delete - Definitely original research and looks like a student term paper. No Wikipedia article has the author's name at the top, and this is most of that user's work WP. Article was previously redirected but subsequently restored. Only additional source added since is for a small appearance on a small Billboard chart which seems perfectly ignorable to me in terms of notability. - Keep. While I know KnowYourMeme generally shouldn't be cited, I believe this is a special case as it's an editorial from the website, which means it was written by someone with the authority. Besides the fact that it's already a viral, well-known meme, the song has starting entering several charts as well, so there is potential. MC-123 (talk) 00:08, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

Fails WP:NALBUM. The album has no significant coverage, award wins/nominations, music chart history. The same goes for the songs on the album. The page's references rely on music store links (Bandcamp, iTunes, BigCartel). Other "sources" include expired links and YouTube links. There are no further sources that can be gathered to support any album sale claims, recording dates, etc. Sackkid (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 02:29, 23 May 2025 (UTC)

While she has an Emmy nomination, it doesn't strengthen the article and frankly she doesn't much media coverage outside of blogs. There is a Billboard charting song but again, the page is a weak keep at best. So I am open to nominating that page for deletion as well. Sackkid (talk) 03:43, 23 May 2025 (UTC)

- Probably redirect. From WP:NSONG: "Songs and singles are probably notable if they have been the subject of multiple, non-trivial published works whose sources are independent of the artist and label". In the coverage, Portrait is not the subject nor is the coverage in-depth, because the articles are about the full-length album. We therefore need better "content" than that. - Keep. I created the article because the album forms part of a notable artistic shift for Natasha St-Pier. The artist is one of the best known contemporary female French pop artists, known for her appearance in Eurovision Song Contest 2001, and for a string of hit albums of a strictly secular nature. Her shift to a Catholic devotional theme created considerable comment, as is reflected in the biography on the RFI website: note that this significant coverage in a reliable, independent source. Album fails WP:NALBUM, a cursory search does not help either. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 15:06, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- Note: This discussion has been included in the deletion sorting lists for the following topics: Albums and songs and Canada. Shellwood (talk) 15:25, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- keep per WP:NALBUM#2 as this has been on the charts in at least three countries FR, CH, BE [3] reaching a top position of 23 in France. --hroest 14:47, 9 May 2025 (UTC)
- keep The singer herself has a level of notoriety in the francophone world that probably would make even the most obscure production notable. Superboilles (talk) 07:05, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
- Why says so? Other sources must decide that, not any one Wikipedia user. Geschichte (talk) 11:00, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
- Comment: From NALBUM: "All articles on albums or other recordings should meet the basic criteria at the notability guidelines, with significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject". Where is the coverage? Geschichte (talk) 11:00, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

- Redirect, however if reliable sources that show third part independent coverage I will reconsider the vote. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 06:47, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- Weak Keep: I found two good sources with SIGCOV (one already was on the wiki page): [4] and [5]. ProQuest has more results but I don't have full access to confirm their usefulness. —LastJabberwocky (Rrarr) 16:35, 20 May 2025 (UTC)

- Keep: WP:NALBUM says an album is notable if it has appeared on any country's national music chart. lescharts.com is listed in WP:GOODCHARTS as a reliable charting source. It was also certified gold in France (also a WP:NALBUM guideline). — Itzcuauhtli11 (talk) 15:08, 27 May 2025 (UTC)
- Keep: This article has been significantly improved since I nominated it and the editor has made it clearer on why they think NALBUM is met, and I agree with them; the gold certification coupled with the national chart (all which the article wasn't representing as of my nomination), is sufficient NALBUM pass for me.
