Adding a new AfD discussion

Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:

Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Maharashtra|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.

Removing a closed AfD discussion

Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.

Other types of discussions

You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Maharashtra. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.

This article on an unreleased film has been moved from draft space to article space, but this article, which says that the title teaser has been released, is itself only a teaser. There is nothing in this article about significant coverage because there isn't any significant coverage of a planned film. There is nothing here that implies film notability. There isn't even a mention of principal photography, but that wouldn't be relevant anyway. Nominating for a deletion discussion rather than unilaterally draftifying so as to avoid move warring.

DMacks properly added a notability template to this just shy of a year ago. Since that time, no one has made any effort to resolve it. It's now time to decide if the article should be deleted.

No SIGCOV present in article and my BEFORE on Google Books, Google News, JSTOR, and newspapers.com fails to find anything other than incidental mentions of a non-biographical nature.
The subject does not hold a named chair. The subject has an H-Index of 26. The subject's CV lists two awards, neither of which are sufficiently major to qualify under NPROF. (A GOJ Eco-Frontier Fellow, which is a research fellowship, not an honorary fellowship; and the Takeda Foundation Techno Entrepreneurship Award for Enviromental [sic] Sciences which, despite the name, is actually a grant funding mechanism).

Maybe keep. @Oaktree b: Did you search without the honorific title "Veer"? He's most commonly known as "Bhai Kotwal" without the Veer or Vir (which is a Hindi title given to honor heroes). If you search for that there are tons of hits in google books with snippet views of promise. Note that there are buildings and schools, a road, etc. named after him in India. There was also a 2020 film about his life. He's clearly a well known figure. I might suggest removing the Veer from the title because it literally means/denotes "hero".4meter4 (talk) 15:09, 27 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: To be honest, not much more comes up [2] has about a paragraph mentioning him. The entire Gscholar search [3] is about a dozen items... I don't see substantial coverage. Delete - This is an unreleased film, and has been moved back to article space after draftification. According to future film notability guidelines, unreleased films are only notable if production itself has actually been notable. There is nothing in this article that provides notability. When the film is released, it will be notable after it has been reviewed. It cannot be reviewed until it is released. Trying to put this article into article space before release is promotional. This is not what one generally calls an "unreleased film " but an upcoming film -obviously unreleased yet- but the rest of your comment makes that more or less clear, so not a real issue; however, Recommend deletion rather than draftification because this article will need to be reworked when the film is released strikes me as an extremely strange suggestion: following this path would imply that most draft pages about upcoming films -and all pages that will need reworking in the future..... - should be deleted right now...would this be really reasonable? Changing upcoming to [2025] and adding a reception section with reviews does not seem to be such hard work that the concerned pages should be deleted. e.ux 17:32, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
