Mjolnir (comics)
Hello Explicit! I was a few hours too late to join in the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mjolnir (comics) deletion discussion. I think the nomination was flawed in that I could find several secondary sources (in a non-exhaustive search) which do discuss the topic beyond plot summary (and not all within the scope of Thor (Marvel Comics)), which I have listed here. I realize that it is rather hard to convince people after they have already given their !votes, but would you consider these sources (and if necessary and given enough time I could look further) enough of "significant new information" in the vein of WP:DRVPURPOSE no. 3 to consider reopening the discussion? I'll defer to your judgement either way. Thanks a lot for your time! Daranios (talk) 15:07, 10 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Daranios: Hi, it's pretty difficult to reopen and relist a deletion discussion when there was a fairly strong consensus to redirect the article. Thor (Marvel Comics) is not particularly long (50 KBs), would creating a subsection in this article be worth consideration? ✗plicit 00:50, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, I guess. There is a lot in connection with Thor. My argument would have been that in those secondary sources Mjolnir also appears as its own character, and there is an interaction with several characters which tells overarching things about Mjolnir, with there being likely at least as much on Jane Foster than Thor. But as no analysis was yet in the article (and I also don't want to rearrange my priorities to add at this point rather than continue my previous projects), starting at Thor (Marvel Comics) and then branching out from there is one way to go. Thanks for your reply, I have little grasp on the admin side of things in the background! Daranios (talk) 08:34, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
Wikivoyage redirect
Hello
. In relation to Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2025 May 9#Template:Wikivoyage redirect; would you mind restoring {{wikivoyage redirect}} and its related pages (such as the related category and documentation subpage, etc.). I have a few pages I would like to create as soft redirects there (e.g. to wikivoyage:D-Day Beaches, wikivoyage:Grand old hotels, and mayhaps even wikivoyage:Driving in Norway), but cannot do so as the template no longer exists. If for some reason they go to RfD and fail retention there, the template can always be sent back to TfD (I will likely argue it should be kept in case an instance arises where it is needed; given that the plain soft redirect is not used in the mainspace, the lack of this template means it's never appropriate to send readers will there a la Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2024 November 27#Template:Wikimedia Commons redirect -- but that is a matter for if the issue ever arises again in that particular venue). Thanks and warmest regards, — Godsy (TALKCONT) 11:05, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Godsy: Hi, I'm afraid I can't restore the page if the concern of the nomination is ultimately not addressed. Gonnym has been open to changing their view in the past if an orphaned template gets put into use, so if the template can be transcluded somewhere, they may be willing to do the same in this case. ✗plicit 00:50, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Gonnym: I listed three targets that I intend to transclude this template as soft redirects to above (on page titles I will create if this is restored). Any qualm with restoration (the new soft redirects themselves would be open to challenge at rfd if anyone so desired)? — Godsy (TALKCONT) 06:14, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- Ideally, a template should be created for more than 3 pages, as if it is only 3 you can just manually link to the pages. If you believe, you (and not some maybe future editor) will continue on and use it more, then fine by me, but if you only have 3 in mind, then just do it manually. Gonnym (talk) 13:21, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- Excellent. I'll do a scour and find as many suitable uses as I can and implement them (as a compromise of sorts) shortly after the template is restored. I know it's a very niche area, but say for example someone creates a reasonable soft redirect to wikivoyage:. The plain {{soft redirect}} template is not used in the mainspace (WP:SOFTSP). I monitor a pseudo-category of such occurrences; if this template does not exist, I have no choice but to list it at RfD. If the community decides it should exist as is there, then I have to get this template restored anyhow. This template not existing is tantamount to saying nothing should ever soft redirect there in the mainspace. The community has decided this is the way in regard to e.g. meta:, but not for this sister site. Additionally, it would not be in accordance to the guideline to manually redirect/"link" there. Warmest regards, — Godsy (TALKCONT) 15:24, 13 July 2025 (UTC)

G7 speedy deletion of article at AfD
This deletion discussion about InnerCamp was closed early because the page author made a G7 request. I wasn't aware such requests could trump an AfD discussion. It is to my understanding that G7 is allowed if a request is in good faith, but given that the article was previously draftified for promo/possible COI [1], it seems to me like this G7 request may have been an attempt to sidestep future G4 issues, leaving open an easier path to recreation for potential COI editors. I don't plan to contest the deletion, but I'd be interested to hear your thoughts about this. Thank you. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 00:25, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four: My experience with G7 for pages at ATD is quite different. It usually marks the point where the author has given up, so they request deletion. WP:CSD#G7 does also state, "If an author requests deletion of a page currently undergoing a deletion discussion, the closing admin may interpret that request as agreement with the deletion rationale." If they recreate the page and it ends up at AFD again, any further G7 attempts should be rejected, but that's not usually what occurs. ✗plicit 00:31, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
"If they recreate the page and it ends up at AFD again, any further G7 attempts should be rejected"
, that assuages some of my concerns. I have significantly less experience with deletion processes, so your insight about what you've found to be typical is very helpful, thank you. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 00:43, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
Two separate issues? Or one huge issue?
I was looking at Powerlifting at the 2023 Pacific Games which I moved to draft space, then it was moved straight back into main space without due process, but was it deleted before and recreated as a redirect to be deleted? Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2023 October 3#Archery at the 2023 Pacific Games, I see the RfD, but a previous AfD? There are a whole load of recreated 2023 Pacific Games articles, which I assumed where deleted before.
Then I was looking into the user:Malto15 and wondered if that was User:Sportsik1998 and I ended up going down a rabbit hole of looking through the SPI of Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/RhodesAvenue thinking it's all connected! Am I going crazy, but I feel that Malto15 is just carrying on what the socks where doing... so... , I saw you might have some experience here and maybe able to help? Govvy (talk) 10:35, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Govvy: Per WP:DRAFTOBJECT, anyone can contest draftication and move the page back into mainspace, even its author.
- Powerlifting at the 2023 Pacific Games was originally created as a redirect to 2023 Pacific Games by Sportsik1998, but it was nominated for deletion at RFD just a few hours later. As far as I can tell, it was never sent to AFD as it wasn't created as an article until recently.
- I'm not familiar with the sockmaster or Malto15, but the latter has been active since 2015, including during CU sweeps, so it likely would have been picked up in one of them performed since 2018 if it were a sockpuppet. There may be issues with their contributions, but they appear to be independent from Sportsik1998. ✗plicit 11:51, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks for clarifying, as I thought it had been deleted before and couldn't see a log for that. I am still unsure that those Pacific Games articles, (and there are a hell of a lot of them added to wikipedia), pass what I would say is a lot stricter view of GNG these days. This maybe bad of me, but I might leave it for others to deal with. Regards. Govvy (talk) 14:08, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
Request - assist with speedy delete of section of talk page?
@Explicit: I see you are active with CSD right now. Perhaps you can address this:
On User talk:Movaablunt there are sections of an "article" that on a User page would be deleted for WP:U5. It is spread out across a few sections. I'm not sure how to delete those sections of the now blocked-user's talk page; or does it need to be done?
(Peripherally - is there a way to tag a single section for speedy deletion?)
— ERcheck (talk) 23:35, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- I considered blanking the section, but was trying to figure out how to do an actual delete. — ERcheck (talk) 23:38, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- @ERcheck: It's not possible to delete only sections of a page from the page history. The best option is simply to remove it citing WP:HOST. I have also revoked the user's ability to edit their talk page, so it won't continue to occur. ✗plicit 23:42, 15 July 2025 (UTC)

Would you like to explain why you deleted my sandbox page? It's supposed to be for experimenting with editing, which is exactly what I was doing and you deleted it. Why? Otterballs3 (talk) 16:25, 13 July 2025 (UTC)

Deletion of my user page
Hello! You recently deleted my userpage for being misused as a webhost. It wasn't, I don't understand. Could you explain? Dino42 (talk) 06:39, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Dino42: Your userpage content was, "sup fuckers d-dawg42 here with some bitchin edits. hit me up". Do you believe that this is an appropriate use of a userpage on an encyclopedia? ✗plicit 00:10, 14 July 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, why not? It's supposed to be a funny page with the template above it that I put talking about wiki-language. It's not against the rules to say "bitchin edits" on your userpage. Where's that rule? Dino42 (talk) 02:55, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- And I have to add, what you're explaining is still not using my page as a wehhost. You've incorrectly deleted it with a reference to the wrong rule. Dino42 (talk) 03:00, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- I'm still waiting for a proper response. It's not being used as a webhost. Can you find a rule rule that applies to your removal reason? That you personally think it's "inappropriate" doesn't mean that you can just remove it. If you do not answer, I will go ahead and put it back as it does not break any rules. Dino42 (talk) 14:57, 17 July 2025 (UTC)

Articles for deletion-Magdalena Szwedkowicz
I would like to kindly request a reconsideration of the deletion of the most recent version of the article about Magdalena Szwedkowicz on the English Wikipedia. Ms. Szwedkowicz is a recognized film producer working actively within the European film industry. Her work has been covered in English-language trade publications, and she has received a prestigious international award.
I fully understand that Wikipedia's notability guidelines, require significant coverage in reliable, independent sources. However, the article did cite such sources, including English-language media—not exclusively Polish-language references. I am therefore concerned that the notability assessment may have overlooked or undervalued these references.
Additionally, I have noticed that there are existing articles on English Wikipedia about other Polish film producers whose professional accomplishments and international visibility are more limited, and yet their pages have not been nominated for deletion. This raises the question of consistency in the application of notability standards.
I absolutely respect the community’s editorial processes and policies, but I do hope this request might prompt a second look. In light of ongoing conversations about systemic bias—especially affecting topics outside the Anglophone world—I believe careful reconsideration is both appropriate and necessary in this case.
Thank you for your time and attention Jotdr4822 (talk) 16:34, 16 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Jotdr4822: QuillBot has detected that "100% of text is likely AI". Can I please speak to a human? ✗plicit 00:24, 17 July 2025 (UTC)
- I'm a human. I was simply taught to write official requests in a formal tone, and since English isn't my first language, it might have come out that way. But let me try to rephrase it more naturally:
- What can I do or change so that you won’t delete the article about Magdalena Szwedkowicz? Jotdr4822 (talk) 09:42, 17 July 2025 (UTC)
- and BTW ;) "Caution: Our AI Detector is advanced, but no detectors are 100% reliable, no matter what their accuracy scores claim. Never use AI detection alone to make decisions that could impact a person's career or academic standing." Jotdr4822 (talk) 09:46, 17 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Jotdr4822: In regards to your main question, Magdalena Szwedkowicz can be subject to an article on Wikipedia once the concerns at the deletion discussion are addressed. This can be achieved by satisfying the criteria of WP:GNG. This requires the individual to be subject to in-depth coverage from reliable sources that are significantly about her, independent from the Szwedkowicz herself. Passing mentions, press releases, and interviews do not count towards notability.
- If you'd like to give it a shot, I suggest creating a draft and submitting your work through the Articles for creation process. Experienced editors can review the page and either accept it if they believe it has a 50% chance of surviving a new deletion discussion, or decline your submission for lacking the necessary aforementioned requirements and offering advice. ✗plicit 03:24, 18 July 2025 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Serbian exonyms
hi hope you are ok today. I wonder if we can talk about doing something about Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Serbian exonyms. It seems to me that your close might have been a bit hasty given that those discussing didn't seem to be on topic or offering policy reasons to delete. There are fairly clearly sources that could have been discussed but weren't. Other editors are using this close as nominative for other similar closes on the basis of WP:NOT which wasn't directly offered in discussion either. Anyway, there might not be anything to be done other than having a wider DRV discussion but I'm interested to hear your thoughts. Best, JMWt (talk) 20:44, 17 July 2025 (UTC)
- @JMWt: Hi, the discussion was open for seven days and eight hours, the policy WP:NOTDICT was cited as the deletion reasoning, and no one argued to keep it. Not sure how that amounts to a hasty closure or a result not based on policy? There was only one source in the article and none were presented during the debate, so I can't factor them in if they weren't provided at anytime before the closure. ✗plicit 03:24, 18 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hi thanks for replying. You are right, WP:NOTDIC was cited which is policy. However I don't think this has anything to do with it, a list of exonyms are not definitions. Presumably what was meant was WP:NOTEVERYTHING on the basis of indiscriminate information.
- One of the !votes asked for a move to another language wiki (not possible). One was a comment about a badly formed nom. One talked about a Serbian with no attempt to address WP:NLIST. One !vote discussed the contents rather than the topic. At best that's two valid !votes. To me the correct outcome was likely a soft delete. A list of placenames for a region that had names in a language inhabitants speak or spoke is likely to be notable in my opinion, and in this specific case sources exist.
- Anyway, I appreciate you efforts and willingness to engage. JMWt (talk) 05:07, 18 July 2025 (UTC)
- Ok well I doubt you've changed your mind so I think I'll go ahead and DRV to hear the wider consensus. No reflection on your work! All the best JMWt (talk) 14:23, 18 July 2025 (UTC)

User page query
Hi Explicit. I'm asking you about this because you've already U5 deleted Mlockhurst84's user page once before. I advised this user about their userpage being potentially a violation of UPNO back in September 2024, and you deleted the page about a week later. The user seems to have recreated (don't know for sure) the page a few days after that but hasn't been active since then. I only noticed this because some of the images the same user uploaded to Commons were tagged for speedy deletion per COM:F10 yesterday. Should I tag the user page for speedy deletion again or can it just be blanked? The same content appears in the user's user sandbox as well and it looks like they were starting to create an article about themselves. No idea if they've given up or are ever coming back. The sandbox isn't as much of a concern as the user page (which itself seems fairly minor for U5 stuff). -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:14, 20 July 2025 (UTC)

I'd like to work a bit on Scientific transphobia draft you started - I hope you don't mind that I requested undeletion for it. If this is something that only you can request, would you be able to undelete it?

List of Historical Ships of Brazilian Navy
hi request you to please reinstate the page List of Historical Ships of Brazilian Navy. kindly note this section was already in the main page list of ships of of Brazilian Navy for a long time, i just movved it a new article for better readability. as for sources afaik only pics of most the ships are available. very few have sources, which can be addded to improve this page. you may say adding source was imp. but then i can ask why was it no done earlier, since this section was already present for a long time. a kind request. "Removing link(s) undefined (XFDcloser)"
Hi @Explicit, I noticed several of your edit summaries are "Removing link(s) undefined (XFDcloser)"
. The only other place I see this message mentioned is on your talk page, so even if it is an XFDCloser issue I think there is something that is making it more likely to happen on your end. The edit summaries are very useful to me because I occasionally want to find what pages link to a deleted article using the edit summary search tool. Do you know anything more about this bug since January? Thanks, --Habst (talk) 18:29, 5 August 2025 (UTC)

Request for Feedback on Ajinkya Bhasme Article Draft
Hi @Explicit, I saw that the Ajinkya Bhasme article was deleted after a deletion nomination, but I couldn’t access the previous version or its talk page to understand the exact reasons for the removal. I’ve put together a revised draft, focusing on stronger sources and compliance with Wikipedia’s notability and verifiability guidelines. Could you please take a quick look at it and let me know if it resolves the issues from the original? Any feedback or suggestions would be super helpful to ensure it’s ready for resubmission. Thanks so much for your time and input! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Herohcreatives/Ajinkya_Bhasme

Pro tip
Whenever I close a discussion as "move to draft" as with Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Death in office, I generally include a link to the draft (e.g. Draft:Death in office) in the close. Obviously this is not mandatory, but I consider it a nice touch. Cheers! BD2412 T 18:10, 14 August 2025 (UTC)

Please restore your db-c1 deletions for maintenance categories
Maintenance categories are allowed to be empty. Indeed, we hope to empty them, but eventually they fill up again as the flagged issues recur. These were tagged for deletion without any indication, so far as I can tell, that they are no longer called by templates or otherwise used. BD2412 T 17:56, 15 August 2025 (UTC)
- I have gone ahead and restored these. If they are to be deleted, that should be discussed. BD2412 T 22:32, 15 August 2025 (UTC)
- They actually did all have indications that they're sometimes routinely empty; the c1 tagger blanked them. —Cryptic 23:16, 15 August 2025 (UTC)
I see you recently replaced {{policy section}} with {{policy}} rather than {{policy|type=section}}. It would probably be a good idea to go back and fix those, so things like Wikipedia:Signatures#Signature forgery correctly state that only the section is policy rather than the entire page. File:GenesisMagmaRacingLogo.png
Hi Explicit. Would you mind taking a look at File:GenesisMagmaRacingLogo.png? It seems too simple to need to be treated as non-free per c:COM:TOO US, but I'm not too sure about c:COM:TOO South Korea. If it's PD per both US and Korean copyright law, it can be relicensed as {{PD-logo}} and tagged for a move to Commons; if, however, it's only PD in the US, it can be relicensed as {{PD-ineligible-USonly}}. -- Marchjuly (talk) 08:04, 18 August 2025 (UTC)

Fixing double redirects in redirect pages Malon, Zaragoza and User:Ninixed
Hello, Mr.@Explicit.... Please fix double redirects in redirect pages Malon, Zaragoza and User:Ninixed because there are an circular redirects. Thanks.... 158.140.164.11 (talk) 06:18, 20 August 2025 (UTC)
Headcount was 4:3 in favor of redirection, with one of the delete's not objecting to a redirection, but inexplicably wanting that done after deletion, which doesn't make sense when the concern is only notability. (VALNET concerns are inherently N concerns, rather than V or anything else.) Disagreements over where to redirect do not justify overlooking that they constitute the most numerous sentiment, nor is the lack of mention at a potential redirection target anything other than a SURMOUNTABLE problem. I note that one redirect was improperly bolded--did you notice that one? Please amend close to redirect or relist for a third time to address the question of which redirect target, as there is no consensus for deletion. Jclemens (talk) 07:04, 22 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Jclemens: The result of the discussion is not based on headcount, so that's a non-starter to begin with. The article did not contain any references, which is inherently a WP:V failure. WP:ATD-E lists deletion as a viable outcome in such cases. The VALNET listicles were not mentioned in the article, or even linked to in the discussion for that matter, and did not make a difference in my closure as they were not discussed beyond the nomination statement. Two editors opposed redirecting (or merging the unreferenced text), while one of the four redirect !votes was fine with deletion as well. There was insufficient support in redirecting this title. Additionally, Shooterwalker's delete !vote did not express support a redirect after deletion, they simply did not feel strongly enough to oppose one if it were created after the fact. ✗plicit 13:55, 22 August 2025 (UTC)
- That's a take I haven't run across before: the nominator sets the stage by agreeing that BEFORE shows sources that meet V but not N, but the article is ultimately deleted because the discussed VALNET sources weren't actually linked in either the discussion or the article, such that it remains unsourced since the alleged sources were not linked anywhere onwiki at the time of closure. Is that correct? Jclemens (talk) 07:34, 23 August 2025 (UTC)

Too hasty to delete
I feel that you acted too quickly to delete File:Katara.png, as the replacement image for it currently has an ongoing discussion in which its deletion is proposed: c:Commons:Deletion requests/File:Katara character.png. I feel that Katara.png was deleted without adequate discussion, so I have to strongly disagree with your decision. Historyday01 (talk) 00:42, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Historyday01: It is unlikely that the discussion will result in deletion of the file given the precedent. Hello, just to let you know I have opened a Deletion Review regarding Jim Dukhovny. The reason is that since the September 2024 AfD, new independent, secondary sources have been published (e.g. San Francisco Standard, Mercury News, J. I believe this new evidence addresses the concerns raised at AfD. Thank you for your time.

Request for Restoration of — Vusal Abdullazade
Explicit, dear administrator!
The Wikipedia articles about the athlete Vusal Abdullazade in Azerbaijani, Turkish, and Russian have been fully restored. The articles have been carefully edited, and all verifiable references have been added. The English version of the article will be developed to the same high standard as the others. In light of this, I kindly request the restoration of this article.
The athlete is officially recognized by the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan (official web site: Az. NOC) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.(official web site: Az. MYS
Deleting the article would violate the athlete’s rights. We believe this misunderstanding will be resolved. Thank you in advance.

Film Poster Source Link
Hello! I actually wanted to know about a thing. It would be really great if you clear this confusion of mine.
For film posters, one needs to provide a link to the page from where the poster was taken, in the source section under the summary of a poster.
I came across a page (Khadaan), which uses a poster that doesn't provide a link from where it has been taken. Only the name of production house is present under the source.
So, shouldn't that poster be removed? (Since it can't be verified)
Thanks - BhikhariInformer (talk) 18:09, 9 September 2025 (UTC)

- So if I understand this, the first PROD happened in 2008; then article was "recreated" in 2010; so that is why that PROD does not show up in History.
- Before doing any PROD, I do; 1.Check Talk for any prior deletion message. 2. Check article History for Prod. So now I should also, 3. On Talk, check View logs for this page.
- On Wikipedia I enjoy learning more, almost daily. Cheers! JoeNMLC (talk) 14:10, 10 September 2025 (UTC)

Schools without their own article
Hello! I wanted to ask about something. List of schools in India and many other Indian states' List of school pages have this notice Please do not add a school to this list, UNLESS the school already has an article on Wikipedia. But many pages, like the List of schools in Tamil Nadu and List of schools in Thailand don't have this notice. As a result, multiple non notable entries are present in these pages. Specially, the Thailand list is in a terrific state - multiple schools with no pages, red links, redirect links, links to school website and what not. So I was asking that shouldn't this notice (Please do not add a school to this list, UNLESS the school already has an article on Wikipedia) be also added to these pages and the non notable entries be cleaned up?
Thanks BhikhariInformer (talk) 02:21, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
- @BhikhariInformer: Hi, I was not sure of what the practice was, so I took a look over at WikiProject Schools and found this RFC about non-notable schools included in lists. It appears that lists of schools vary from one region to another, so there isn't really a right answer. Leaving the status quo is the approach I would recommend. ✗plicit 04:56, 15 September 2025 (UTC)

Recreation of deleted title that was removed twice
Hi, it is regarding the title "Jasdeep Singh Gill (patron)", which was deleted twice from namespace and moved to draft. On 13th, a new user (possibly a sock or COI/promo user) recreated it here in the existing disamb page. Have a look. Thanks. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:58, 14 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Fylindfotberserk: Hi, as I am not familiar with these users, I don't think there is any action I can take based on this information alone. If you feel there is enough evidence of abuse of multiple accounts, WP:SPI is the way to go. ✗plicit 04:56, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
- I'll try to find more diffs and hopefully file an SPI case. As of now, I'm concerned whether someone could create an article when we already have a version of it in the draftspace and two older versions deleted. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:43, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
- Recreated again today [2]. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 23:00, 16 September 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher)(Non-administrator comment)@Fylindfotberserk: WP:DRAFTIFYing the page again doesn't seem like an option here because of WP:DRAFTONCE. Draftification is sort of like WP:PROD in that
you, in principle, it only can be done once. You can, however, always nominate the article for deletion via WP:AfD (I'm not sure WP:A7 applies here) if you feel the subject clearly fails to meet WP:N; this, in fact, might be the best way to stop future recreations per WP:G4 because articles deleted via a community consensus established at AfD tend to be harder to recreate. Since AfD discussions involve the community as a whole, they're also harder for a single user or a group of users to derail and inappropriate behavior during such discussions tends to be dealt with harshly by administrators. As for WP:SOCK or WP:MEAT, you'll probably need seek assistance via WP:SPI if you feel such things might be happening; as Explicit mentioned above, though, you will need to provide diffs in support of any case you try to make. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:44, 17 September 2025 (UTC);; post edited. -- 20:10, 17 September 2025 (UTC)- @Marchjuly: Thanks for the inputs. Apart from WP:G4, a PROD based on WP:WI1E may be applicable. Might also be a case of WP:G5. I'd try SPI, but would like to find more diffs, though the new user has displayed some of the characteristics of the SP master ([3] [4], the IPs). - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:59, 17 September 2025 (UTC)
- Anyone can, in principle, WP:DEPROD an article (even if done in bad faith), and it then can't be prodded again. You've stated the article has already been recreated several times (including once after being draftified), which means it will almost certainly be de-prodded. If you're concerns are that the subject of the article truly doesn't meet WP:N and you've done your due diligence in assessing it, then AfD is probably your best option in getting it deleted. If you feel the creator and other accounts are using sock puppetry or meat puppetry for disruptive editing, then the best way to deal with that is probably SPI. If you're trying to get the article deleted via SPI (i.e. G5), then you're (at least in my opinion) going about things the wrong way and will likely be told to take the article to AfD at some point by some administrator. -- Marchjuly (talk) 20:10, 17 September 2025 (UTC)

File:Bushra bilall.jpeg
Hi Explicit. Would you mind taking a look at File:Bushra bilall.jpeg and File:Bushra Bilal.jpeg? There's also c:File:Bushra Bilal.jpeg on Commons, for reference. The uploader is a really new account both here and on Commons; so, I'm assuming the two duplicates uploaded locally to Wikipedia were just because they weren't aware of WP:FMV and how to request a file move. The Commons one at least might need VRT confirmation of copyright authorship since there's no real source information provided for any of the files. If it doesn't and it's OK as is, the two local files probably meet F8; if the Commons file isn't OK as is, then the local files probably should be tagged for speedy deletion per F11, right? Anyway, since you're an admin on both Commons and Wikipedia, I figured you'd be a good person to ask about this. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:57, 20 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Marchjuly: Hi, I did a quick reverse image search and couldn't find any evidence that either version of the image was previously published outside of Wikipedia. I'm personally not a fan of tagging images for lacking permission or a source unless there is previous publication or there is inconsistency between the user's other uploads (like differing EXIF data, different image qualities/resolutions, etc). ✗plicit 00:17, 21 September 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for doing that. It seems, then, that the local files aren't needed per F8, right? -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:26, 21 September 2025 (UTC)

Jean Randrianjatavo
You recently deleted this at AfD. There was a proposal in the discussion that the article could be redirected to an appropriate target, preferably Madagascar at the 1964 Summer Olympics. At that time there were no competitors' names in that article but there are now. I wonder, since the usual outcome of AfDs on Olympians' stubs is to redirect, whether you would restore the article so that I can redirect it to what is after all a valid target. Failing that, would it be OK if I create it as a new redirect? Best wishes, Ingratis (talk) 17:54, 26 September 2025 (UTC)

Shamsuddin Faridi Desai deletion
Dear Explicit, I see the decision was made to delete the article, Shamsuddin Faridi Desai. Was Bahauddin Dagar, a respected Rudra Veena player, consulted? How can I get you to undelete it? If I get all of the major Rudra Veena players to sign a petition, would you then undelete it? Vtranz (talk) 10:07, 25 September 2025 (UTC)
- Dear Explicit, I received an email from Carsten Wicke.
- I sent him this email:
- Dear Carsten,
- Do you believe that Shamsuddin Faridi Desai should have a wikipedia article?
- I'm asking, because I wrote one for him and it was deleted.
- The wikipedia editor who deleted it, claimed that Shamsuddin lacked 'notability'.
- I am trying to have the article restored.
- I would like to have some support from Rudra Veena players that wikipedia does consider 'notable' enough.
- I'm attaching a copy of the article.
- Thank you for any support.
- If you do not feel it is appropriate, then I respect your decision.
- Best regards,
- Gary Pro
- Carsten replied,
- Dear Garry,
- Sorry for that late reply. Travelling in Europe for concerts and workshops.
- I think Shamsuddin definitely deserves a Wikipedia article.
- I guess the editor got the impression of lacking notability, not knowing the subject and refering just to the quite limited content of the article.
- If you get a bit more material to fill it up with content and references this should be no problem any more.
- Best
- Carsten
- Dear Explicit, please restore the article, Shamsuddin Faridi Desai. Vtranz (talk) 17:40, 30 September 2025 (UTC)

Deletion of Wikipedia page for Highcharts
Hi Explicit,
We noticed that you deleted the Wikipedia page for Highcharts this summer.

We have:
- Publicly declared that we have a conflict of interest regarding the Wikipedia article Highcharts on our talk page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Highcharts
- At the same time created a draft in our Sandbox that we hope you can review for us: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Highcharts/sandbox

Deletion of Wikipedia page for Mostafa Taleb
Hello Explicit,
I hope you're doing well. I noticed that the article Mostafa Taleb was soft-deleted following the AfD discussion you closed. I’d like to understand better what improvements or sources would be needed for the topic to meet Wikipedia’s notability guidelines, so that I can work on recreating it properly in the future. If possible, could you please share a brief note or suggestion on what was missing or insufficient?
Thank you for your time and help. MssEms2 (talk) 11:54, 5 October 2025 (UTC)
- @MssEms2: Hi, as the deletion discussion suggests, this individual has not received significant coverage from reliable sources to satisfy the general notability guideline or the notability guideline for music. Press releases, interviews, and such do not count towards meeting that threshold. Although just an essay, a good guide can be found at WP:THREE. ✗plicit 00:56, 6 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hello @Explicit, and thank you again for your time and for explaining the notability concerns regarding the article *Mostafa Taleb*.
- Since the AfD closure as a soft delete, I have gathered several new, independent reliable sources that provide significant coverage of Mostafa Taleb’s professional work as an Iranian–Belgian kamancheh player and composer. These include:
- Patrick Ten Brink, "About That Magic Circle" — *The Brussels Review* (April 2025): an in-depth, independent concert review analyzing Taleb’s performance at Concertgebouw Bruges.
- "Ananta Roosens & Mostafa Taleb" — *The Bulletin / Muziekpublique* (August 2025): report and critique of the duo performance during the Hide & Seek Festival.
- *Echo 2024 / Klarafestival* — official program and report including Taleb’s participation in the “State of the Youth” presentation, reflecting recognition within the professional classical music community.
- Additional supporting material includes:
- - Concert listings at *Concertgebouw Bruges* confirming international performances.
- - Album and recordings released on Bandcamp and through *Seyir Müzik* (2024–2025).
- Given these developments, I believe the notability question can now be reassessed. I would like to kindly request your consideration for undeleting or restoring the article to userspace so I can rebuild it with proper citations and a fully neutral tone.
- Thank you very much for your time and for any guidance you can provide.
- Best regards,
- MssEms2**
