About the edits to article [anciet history of Somalia]

[edit]

Hi Gonnym.

I noticed you’ve been editing my draft on [anciet history of Somalia]. I’m still working on it and would appreciate it if you could wait until I finish before making changes. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks! Kagamid (talk) 15:25, 4 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Kagamid, as I noted in my edit summary, I was fixing WP:LINT errors. Those errors are syntax errors that appear on various lists that other editors and I follow. Having them appear for long periods of time isn't an option, sorry. It also doesn't affect your editing so there really isn't an issue here. Gonnym (talk) 15:30, 4 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Kagamid, for example, you re-adding width=1500px to a file is meaningless as it doesn't work. I've corrected it in my previous edit so it will actually work as you've intended it to. Gonnym (talk) 15:31, 4 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Convert TV templates

[edit]

Hey, don't know if you remembered or were aware of, but Alex had compiled a list (that was updated every now and then) of articles that aren't using {{Episode table}} here: User:Alex 21/sandbox/No episode table. Don't know if that list can be run through with AWB or a bot to add your new templates to populate the categories. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:43, 4 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reminding me, forgot about that list. I'll go over it tomorrow and tag those pages. Gonnym (talk) 17:51, 4 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Alex 21, could you update the list so I won't tag incorrect pages? Gonnym (talk) 17:52, 4 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Resolving category redirects

[edit]

Hi, your revert on Template:R from fictional location has repopulated the redirected Category:The Adventures of Tintin location redirects.

It's easier to make a single category redirect to implement a decision such as Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2025 February 20#Category:The Adventures of Tintin location redirects, than to edit every member.

In this case it's not even a renaming of the series, but a category merger to a target that is not only for redirect pages, so I don't know how else to implement it.

I did not understand your edit summary no, those red categories should be created. Post on the talk pages of those editors that are not doing so. – Fayenatic London 22:12, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The template's only reason to exist is to populate a category. If you want to populate a different category, use that name. If you don't want to populate any category, leave blank or don't use the template. Modifying the template, isn't a valid option. Gonnym (talk) 11:04, 9 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I only just noticed the {{Computer death}} wikibreak template at the head of your user page. After receiving a prompt reply I was about to welcome you back online, but then realised the notice has been there a long time. – Fayenatic London 11:32, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I should remove that. Thanks for pointing that out! Gonnym (talk) 11:33, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Years of the 8th century BC indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. –Aidan721 (talk) 16:10, 8 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion regarding a module

[edit]

Module talk:Political party#Piechart needs color, not HTML

I think an editor already pinged you at Module talk:piechart, but pings sometimes just don't work. If you have no input on the discussion, that is also fine of course. Take care, Rjjiii (talk) 04:35, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Remove empty template

[edit]

Hello Gonnym. It seems that you are on a remove empty template spree on every racing driver article. Would you care to explain on your intention to remove these empty templates? I wanted to add reasoning that you shouldn't remove all the empty templates, it's to not complicate some editors job to fill the results and make it easier. You can remove some seasons that already done which they're not participate, but for the current season, shouldn't done that. Thanks. Thfeeder (talk) 16:11, 27 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to add useless code, then add it as commented out code <!--useless code-->, that way the template isn't actually called, doesn't increase page size and loading times and doesn't hinder other maintenance. Gonnym (talk) 16:41, 27 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
