Requests for page protection

Current requests for increase in protection level

[edit]
Request addition of protection to a page, or increasing the current protection level
Place requests for protection increases at the BOTTOM of this section. If you cannot find your request, check the archive of requests or the page history. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Reason: A person or group of people are constantly trying to prove a POV by adding incorrect information to the article Melissa Barrera, distorting the lead, and removing sources, despite warnings. I request protection for the article. Best regards.--Agent010 (talk) 03:05, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Last reverted edits were two days ago, and there weren't many in the weeks before that. Daniel Case (talk) 05:50, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 06:29, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

Follow up.... Please see User talk:Jpdps#c-Jpdps-20260215083600-Yue-20260215080400 for confirmation of the WP:COI nature of these edits that have broken the page on at least 3 back-to-back occasions with repeated reverts. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 16:47, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
Semi-protected for a period of three days, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Daniel Case (talk) 05:53, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Reason: Persistent IP-hopping vandalism. Multiple disruptive edits from various unregistered users have made manual reverts unsustainable. Requesting semi-protection to restore stability to the article. Publicnote (talk) 11:28, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. No reverts and seems to be working out according to talk page discussion. Daniel Case (talk) 05:55, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Long history of disruption, which resumes almost immediately after temporary protections expire. Sugar Tax (talk) 11:42, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 10 days, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Daniel Case (talk) 05:57, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Reason: Persistent vandalism, disruptive editing, and additions of unsourced material, primarily by temp & non-confirmed accounts. — Jamie Eilat (talk) 14:51, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 10 days, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Daniel Case (talk) 06:03, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Reason: After recent fullprot expired EW continues. Additional info at AN. Czarking0 (talk) 16:16, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

Fully protected for a period of one week, after which the page will revert to its previous protection level if it is still in effect, or become unprotected otherwise. Daniel Case (talk) 06:05, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Barely any constructive activity here over the past few weeks. Sugar Tax (talk) 16:22, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of three months, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Daniel Case (talk) 06:08, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Pending changes: Persistent vandalism. Sugar Tax (talk) 16:26, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

Semi-protected indefinitely. More evidence we need WP:CT/MAGHREB Daniel Case (talk) 06:25, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Vandalism absolutely instantly after protection expired, pending changes has really not worked that well, so indefinite or long-term semi protection seems necessary. MakaylaHippo1998 (talk) 03:29, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Already protected by administrator ToBeFree. The Bushranger One ping only 06:02, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Reason: Clear EW from temp accounts on CT/AP on going election. Second request, EW continues. First request was declined due to edit not being recent enough. This one is more recent. Don't worry if this is declined I won't spam a third Czarking0 (talk) 04:22, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of two weeks, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. The Bushranger One ping only 06:13, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Reason: I still really think the page should be protected, just to make sure no unregistered users change the end date again... I know that might not sound like much, but I'm being completely honest. Thenewonebanna7688 (talk) 05:35, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Reason: Unregistered users keep vandalizing the page, changing Nelvana and Jigsaw to Walt Disney Television Animation and Walt Disney respectively, which is factually incorrect. Thenewonebanna7688 (talk) 05:49, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level

[edit]
Request removal of protection from a page, or reducing the current protection level

Before posting a request for unprotection, please discuss it with the protecting administrator first. You can create a request below only if you receive no response from them.

To find out which administrator protected the page, go to the page's edit history and click on the "View logs for this page" link (located underneath the page's title). The protecting administrator is listed in the protection log entry, next to the words "protected", "changed protection level", or "configured pending changes". If there are a large number of log entries on the page, use the drop-down menu near the top of the page and select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" to filter the logs accordingly.

DO NOT request a reduction in protection if...

  • ...you are being prevented from editing the page. A desire to change content is not a valid reason for unprotection. Instead:
    • If you can edit the article's talk page, use the WP:Edit Request Wizard to propose a change on the article's talk page. Include an explanation of the exact content that you want to change, and what the content will be afterward.
    • If the article's talk page is protected, you may propose a change at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Edit.
  • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is that the article has not been vandalized. That simply means the protection is working as intended.
  • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is basically "a long time has passed" without supporting details.
  • ...you haven't contacted the protecting administrator.

You may request a protection reduction below if...

  • ...you want to change the protection level of a template or module from full protection to template protection. You may add the request to this page without having to discuss it with the protecting administrator first.
  • ...you need to remove creation protection from a location where no page exists (redlinked pages) after a draft version of the intended article is prepared beforehand and ready to be published.
  • ...you are proposing a trial reduction in protection for a page that has been protected for several years, provided the proposal is supported by evidence such as talk page activity, page views, page traffic, number of watchers, frequency of edit requests, and prior history of vandalism.
  • ...the protecting administrator is inactive or has not responded to you in several days.

If you cannot locate your request, make sure to check the request archives to see if it's been moved there. Only requests that have been recently answered will still be listed here.

Unprotection: unneeded, transferred from a page move. Tbhotch (CC BY-SA 4.0) 19:58, 14 February 2026 (UTC)

It's a redirect. There isn't really any reason to unprotect redirects left over from page moves. Sugar Tax (talk) 00:31, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
Pages are not protected preemptively. Tbhotch (CC BY-SA 4.0) 00:34, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
Conversely, WP:NOTBURO. - The Bushranger One ping only 03:54, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
Conversely, Bruno Mars (singer) (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) was protected after a move by the same person and it was unprotected as unrequired, then the page was deleted but that was up to that other admin. Tbhotch (CC BY-SA 4.0) 19:00, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
  • Automated comment: One or more pages in this request appear to have already been unprotected. Please confirm.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 23:22, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
No, bot, for the second time, it has not. - The Bushranger One ping only 23:57, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
Not unprotected. Protection was not pre-emptive. There is also no reason why unconfirmed editors would need to edit this redirect. Protection may be unneeded, but unprotection is also unneeded. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 03:20, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Current requests for edits to a protected page

[edit]
Request a specific edit be made to a protected page
Please add an edit request to the talk page of the protected page before adding an edit request here

Requests for specific edits should be made on the talk page of the protected article. You can create an edit request below only if the talk page is also protected, preventing you from adding a request there.

Otherwise, this is the correct place to use in order to add an edit request if you are unable to add one to the article's talk page. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to properly add a request.
