Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Delhi
![]() | Points of interest related to Delhi on Wikipedia: History – Category – WikiProject – Deletions – Stubs – To-do |
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Delhi. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Delhi|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Delhi. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.
This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to India.

Lesser-known actress with insignificant and non lead roles in multiple projects. Fails Wp:NACTOR. Appears to be a case of Wp:TOOSOON. Zuck28 (talk) 12:11, 14 July 2025 (UTC)

A regular lawyer, doing his work. No SIGCOV, just press releases, blogs, non-reliable and primary sources, YouTube videos, and passing mentions are used as sources. The creator is blocked as a sockpuppet. Written in a very promotional tone and with a Wp:POV, potentially a case of UPE & COI. Fails GNG & NAUTHOR. Zuck28 (talk) 12:04, 14 July 2025 (UTC)

- Delete - he received several made up in one day awards for being an up and coming but ultimately run of the mill lawyer. Remember, we are not LinkedIn. Credible evidence of pay to play scammer creating this article. Bearian (talk) 11:45, 18 July 2025 (UTC)

Being an ambassador does not inherit the notability of the subject. Fails WP:GNG. LKBT (talk) 12:07, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
- Note: This discussion has been included in the deletion sorting lists for the following topics: People, Women, India, and United States of America. LKBT (talk) 12:07, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
- Speedy Keep, masses of coverage and an Ambassador is clearly notable. The nomination was too quick; if he withdraws then notability via WP:BLP1E might pertain, but not now. I suggest withdrawing the nomination and waiting a month to see what happens.Ldm1954 (talk) 12:33, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
Weak keep. I'll appeal to the spirit of WP:NPOL, even if he isn't exactly a politician. All previous US ambassadors to Singapore have articles. Currently the coverage on this one is limited to the circumstances of his confirmation hearing, but presumably he'll take office soon and more sources will follow. Like Ldm1954 says, we can revisit this if he doesn't end up becoming ambassador. For now I think there's a case for assuming notability based on his title.-- Maddy from Celeste (WAVEDASH) 12:44, 12 July 2025 (UTC)- Draftify might actually also be an option here... -- Maddy from Celeste (WAVEDASH) 18:34, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
- Having thought over it again, it's definitely draftify. Not notable currently, we can fish out the draft if/once he meets GNG. -- Maddy from Celeste (WAVEDASH) 18:53, 14 July 2025 (UTC)

- Weak keep - It is reasonable to assume that the ambassadors of this category so far have articles. There would be no loss in keeping this too. GenuineArt (talk) 06:27, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- Comment Ambassadors are not inherently notable, hundreds have been deleted. However, this one might meet WP:BIO. LibStar (talk) 07:13, 14 July 2025 (UTC)
- Keep: As ambassador, he will get plenty of articles which will allow this entry to be expanded. 🄻🄰 14:54, 14 July 2025 (UTC)
- There is no inherent notability in being an ambassador. Ambassadors tend to get routine coverage rather than indepth. LibStar (talk) 06:07, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- Weak keep: I agree with LibStar’s comment, even if she doesn't meet the criteria as an ambassador, she does pass WP:NBIO. Baqi:) (talk) 13:33, 15 July 2025 (UTC)

Unable to find any satisfied reference to meet the criteria outlined in WP:GNG. LKBT (talk) 12:11, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
- Note: This discussion has been included in the deletion sorting lists for the following topics: People, Academics and educators, Education, India, and Delhi. LKBT (talk) 12:11, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
- Keep, he passes WP:NPROF, the nomination based upon failing WP:GNG is not appropriate for an academic, neither is WP:SIGCOV. Checking his co-authors, he is in a medium-low citation area, so his h-factor of 34 is decent. The Fellowship elections count (I added a source for one) although they are not the most significant. Combined with his Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize there is enough, plus he has a good yearly trend to his citations.Ldm1954 (talk) 12:26, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
- Keep per Ldm1954, I think if you view his academic credentials in totality there is a decent enough case for notability. Zzz plant (talk) 17:38, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
- Keep: All the authority control databases are showing it (WP:VIAF). Baqi:) (talk) 13:29, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- Keep, proabably passes WP:NPROF just about with a decent h-index plus a price which contributes to notability. --hroest 18:27, 15 July 2025 (UTC)

Non-notable actor. Lacks Wp:SIGCOV. Most of the sources are either passing mentions or non-bylined promotional articles. Wp:NEWSORGINDIA. His acting career consists of two films in which he has non-lead roles, and no award nominations or wins, failing Wp:NACTOR.
His additional credits include non-notable short films and music videos.
He received some press coverage due to his connection with the Ambani and Kapoor families and his marriage but notability is not inherited. Zuck28 (talk) 12:12, 2 July 2025 (UTC)

- Delete: Fails WP:NACTOR even WP:NBASIC, also wikipedia is not WP:INHERITED. Baqi:) (talk) 08:57, 4 July 2025 (UTC)
- Weak keep He had lead roles in two notable (if average) films, so just meets WP:NACTOR. See WP:ICTFSOURCES for reliable sources for Indian films - there are additional, reliable sources in the articles about the films which could be added here. It appears that he is now a managing director at a university - this [1] is not a reliable source (being sponsored content and full of peacockery), but if a reliable source could be found, that info could be added to the article to bring it up to date. - Keep The subject meets WP:NACTOR with lead roles in two feature films. I can find references which are enough to support the case. Sooterout (talk) 17:44, 10 July 2025 (UTC)
- Which of the sources, demonstrates that these two roles are lead roles? Zuck28 (talk) 19:02, 10 July 2025 (UTC)
- Keep The actor did have significant roles in Fugly and Raag Desh. In fact, in the latter, the subject was featured on the theatrical poster, which strongly suggests that he was one of the central characters. In Fugly as well, the actor played a major role that received attention and analysis in reviews by film critics.Chanel Dsouza (talk) 12:06, 11 July 2025 (UTC)
