Welcome to WikiProject Internet, a collaboration area and group of editors dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of the Internet.
(For more information on WikiProjects, please see Wikipedia:WikiProject and the Guide to WikiProjects).
- Goals
- Document the Internet's common protocols and popular technology.
- Maintain and develop related categories
- Scope
- The Internet as a whole, its history, current use, future, structure, technology, etc.
- Popular culture is excluded, and belongs in a separate project, as do computer networks other than the Internet. Some overlap is expected with the latter, however - especially in Category:Internet Standards.
Guidelines
[edit]Although we strive to comply with all Wikipedia guidelines, there are a lot of them. The ones here are listed for convenience and also may be particularly helpful when editing Internet-related articles:
- Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Computing
- Wikipedia:Notability (web)
- Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies)

New articles
[edit]Please feel free to list your new Internet-related articles here (newer articles at the top, please). Any new articles that have an interesting or unusual fact in them should be suggested for the Did you know? box on the Main Page.
- Lego Life, created by user:Fieryninja I wrote this article from new, but plan to continue to expand it. I presume that it falls within the scope of this wikiproject as it is about a social media app. Fieryninja (talk) 21:00, 16 November 2020 (UTC)
- SubwayCreatures, created by User:LichWizard. Small at the moment, but could become more substantial with some more work/research. --LichWizard talk 01:08, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- Light (web browser), bit stubbish, newly created by Xmoogle (talk) 18:49, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
- Serial (podcast), created by User:Grand'mere Eugene, nominated for DYK by User:Aboutmovies. Serial is a weekly series telling a season-long, investigative journalism, suspenseful story through podcasts released on Thursdays. It is narrated by Sarah Koenig. — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 21:36, 19 October 2014 (UTC)
- AJAJ, created by User:Danielbullis. First, this article was not "created" by me; I simply cannot find the original author. However, I have made the most significant amount of contributions - I wrote this article from basically a stub status. While AJAX is used by most web developers, it is not always literally used to refer to XML. This article discusses an alternate framework which uses JSON as the data model, instead of XML. While AJAX sounds prettier...it's not exactly accurate, now is it :]. Danielbullis (talk) 19:50, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
- Internet Hall of Fame, created by User:Green Cardamom. This award is organized by the Internet Society and is sort of like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or Baseball Hall of Fame -- an attempt to create a canonical list of people who are the most important in Internet history. Please note there are a number of inductees who are red linked with no coverage on Wikipedia, these bios need help. Green Cardamom (talk) 07:20, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
- Internet bottleneck, created by User:brandonbrooks1 Currently working on this article for the Wikipedia:United States Education Program/Courses/Telecommunication Policy Analysis course as part of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Academical Village. Would love to have any feedback that could be offered. Brandonbrooks1 (talk) 20:25, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
- GhostNet, created by User:Yotomak (currently featured on the Main Page) APK thinks he's ready for his closeup 09:41, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- Suggest that Internet studies be added to the project. --ZimZalaBim talk 21:16, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
- It appears that Wikipedia needs an article on the new Internet2 Network to replace the Abilene Network article, which would now be part of the history of the Internet2 Network, at least according to the information at the Internet2 Network Upgrade blog. The Information in the Internet2 article also appears to be obsolete. I'm no IT expert so please excuse this request if I've misinterpreted this info!—Blanchette (talk) 04:37, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
- Intergalactic Computer Network - moved from Galactic Network 2007-11-04 by -Susanlesch 04:33, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
