Hey there!

Cool work on the large semi-protected edit requests backlog! You could perhaps deal with edit requests more easily with some tool like User:Jackmcbarn/editProtectedHelper, to answer them with a single talk page edit. It's up to you, though. Happy editing! ObserveOwl (talk) 16:20, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for the recommendation. That looks like it'll be very helpful! Ultraodan (talk) 03:21, 28 December 2024 (UTC)

Information icon Thank you for contributing to the article Kulfi. However, please do not use unreliable sources such as blogs, wikis, personal websites, and websites and publications with a poor reputation for checking the facts or with no editorial oversight. These sources may express views that are widely acknowledged as pushing a particular point-of-view, sometimes even extremist, being promotional in nature, or relying heavily on rumors and personal opinions. I’m trying not to clutter up the Trudeau talk page to badly, should a make a new edit request and you can delete my old one? 2001:1970:4AE5:A300:B0FF:84F8:E4C3:3828 (talk) 06:55, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

A bit of clutter on the talk page of someone who is in the news right now is expected. If needed we can reduce the archive threshold. So just make a new edit request. Deleting good faith edit requests isn't something I like doing. Ultraodan (talk) 08:18, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

Question from Byte logical (03:24, 19 January 2025)

who is the best blog in history --Byte logical (talk) 03:24, 19 January 2025 (UTC)

Hi there @Byte logical, welcome to Wikipedia! I've moved what you put at the top below this so it's organised. In future you can reply to your own message with something like that.
There is no "best" blog or source for anything, only if a source is reliable or not. Blogs aren't usually a good reliable source on Wikipedia.
Your ideas all seem to be "blog" style titles to advertise a topic, some are also very specific so I doubt there's enough for an article. I recommend taking a look at this introduction to Wikipedia and this guide to making your first article. Ultraodan (talk) 06:13, 19 January 2025 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to COVID-19, broadly construed, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Question from Mithillessh (10:08, 23 January 2025)

Hi I am trying to write a wiki page on my website, we have newspaper articles and all that, can you help me with that? --Mithillessh (talk) 10:08, 23 January 2025 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia @Mithillessh! Firstly, make sure you declare your conflict of interest in some way when doing this (see WP:DISCLOSE), just saying it here won't get noticed.
There is a general guide for COI editing that could help you. For making the article, you should do this through the articles for creation process. Ultraodan (talk) 10:13, 23 January 2025 (UTC)

Question from Anupamdas1985 (17:36, 29 January 2025)

Hi. I am new to Wikipedia. Thanks for being my mentor. I believe that I have noticed some articles about an Individual or an organization that are only for promotional purposes. They do not have any other sources in the internet that can be used for citation. What to do in this situation? --Anupamdas1985 (talk) 17:36, 29 January 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Anupamdas1985 and welcome in! If you notice purely promotional articles, you can tag them with {{Template:Promotional}} or {{Template:POV}} at the top of the page. If its something that has no independent citations and no independent citations exist, then it might lack WP:Notability and should be considered for deletion at WP:AFD.
If you aren't sure, I'm happy to take a look at any specific articles you're worried about. Ultraodan (talk) 04:33, 30 January 2025 (UTC)
@Ultraodan Thanks for the guidance. Appreciate it. Anupamdas1985 (talk) 05:35, 30 January 2025 (UTC)

Question from Wow.ads (12:17, 30 January 2025)

Who is best digital marketing strategist --Wow.ads (talk) 12:17, 30 January 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Wow.ads, I don't think it's possible to call anyone in a specific field the best. These categories could be helpful: Category:Internet marketing people and Category:Digital marketing companies. If this doesn't help, you might get more help asking at the miscellaneous reference desk. Ultraodan (talk) 05:45, 31 January 2025 (UTC)

Question from Yorhpmo (01:47, 31 January 2025)

Hello, thank you so much. No question yet. --Yorhpmo (talk) 01:47, 31 January 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Yorhpmo and welcome to Wikipedia! If you ever have any questions feel free to ask me, or at the teahouse. I've just put a welcome message on your talk page with a bunch of useful links to help you get started, don't feel pressured to read through them all in their entirety though (it is a lot). Question from Yorhpmo on Anika Omphroy (20:07, 31 January 2025)

I noticed you placed a tone tag on the page. I read the link you sent. Please explain the tone that you see an issue with? --Yorhpmo (talk) 20:07, 31 January 2025 (UTC)

@Yorhpmo Sure. Things like describing her election as a significant turn of events and that This unexpected outcome reshaped the political landscape. Also saying she demonstrated her energy and passion. There might be others but at a glace. The issue is that these present her in a highly positive tone (must be neutral) instead of focusing on the details of what happened. If these can be attributed to someone it would be fine. For example Political analysist John Doe described her election as a significant turn of events Ultraodan (talk) 22:35, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
Thank you. I will add where the language came from.  It comes from the editorial sited. I will use the direct language. Is it normal to flag rather than inbox a new person learning? Yorhpmo (talk) 00:18, 1 February 2025 (UTC)
@Yorhpmo If it's an issue with a single edit the norm is to mention it on your talk page. I added the tag so that anyone could notice and deal with the issue. Ultraodan (talk) 00:28, 1 February 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for helping me learn. Yorhpmo (talk) 00:36, 1 February 2025 (UTC)

Hey I'm working on a project in sandbox and I was wondering what is the command to create a line to separate text? --CanadianClassic (talk) 20:31, 24 February 2025 (UTC)

Hi @CanadianClassic, there's a few things you could be looking for. I'm gonna assume you're working in the source editor (since that's what I'm familiar with) but if you use visual say and I'll see if I can figure it out in that.
If you want a simple break between lines:
Foo
More Foo
you can use
<br/>
If you want a line across the page. This isn't normally done outside of section headings (like the one above your question). To get something like that you can use == Foo ==. Ultraodan (talk) 06:56, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Thanks Ultra! Your help means the world. Look forward to factually contributing to Wikipedia for many moons to come!

Question from Anupamdas1985 (11:29, 9 March 2025)

Hello. Why am I not able to send a message? Am I barred? --Anupamdas1985 (talk) 11:29, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

@Anupamdas1985 I'm not sure what you mean. You were able to send this message and you don't have any blocks so you should be able to talk on any non-protected talk pages. What exactly mean by not being able to send a message? Ultraodan (talk) 11:35, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
Never mind I just looked at your filter log. I've started another thread at WP:EF/FP/R#Anupamdas1985 2 Ultraodan (talk) 11:49, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
Don't fully understand what is happening but thanks.
All I ask is that if you (Wikipedia articles - Not talking about any individual) are keeping my information and other sources that I provided, then why not the source of my website which has the same information. Still, if Wikipedia say that they are not going to include my website, then there is nothing I can do about that.
Then there is a person who replied me via - info-en@wikimedia.org. Nothing against him personally but he told me that I have used some Philippines immigration website. A statement that is completely wrong. Anupamdas1985 (talk) 12:06, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
It is a long message that I was trying to send. I tried again and I can't send. It is some "automated filter" that is preventing me. So, issue is - I edited a page - 'Pomelo' - segment is 'In Culture'. Alongside some sources I added my website as source. The segment is being shortened and my website is removed. Although, many of the information and other sources that I provided are still there. But my website is gone. I tried to raise that issue to 'False Positive' page and send an email to info-en@wikimedia.org. I have been told via that email that I have used an immigration website as a source which is completely wrong. My website is not an immigration website. Anupamdas1985 (talk) 11:56, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
I think the best solution is to see what comes out of the filter report. The Pomelo content should be discussed on the article's talk page with the editors who shortened the section and removed your website. Although using your own website as a source is a horrible idea for neutrality and reliable sourcing. Ultraodan (talk) 12:00, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
I tried article talk page but it barred me.
Yes I agree that it is not neutral and I was trying to create some back-links. But I will argue by saying that - information is relevant and it is firsthand. It is not spam. We celebrate 'Chatth Puja' and use 'Pomelo' fruit for ritualistic purpose. I also experienced firsthand that other Asian cultures uses Pomelo for rituals. So, using my website (and other relevant websites) that has relevant information, is value addition to the Wikipedia article and its community.
2+ 2 = 4. Does not matter who says it, it is true.
But as Wikipedia is the owner, their word is final.
Thanks any way. Anupamdas1985 (talk) 12:21, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
I haven't looked through your website but you obviously cannot judge if you are an expert or not. Since it is your website, you are free to say whatever you want on it, true or not, which raises reliability concerns. Ultraodan (talk) 12:28, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

Copy edit tag

Hi Ultra! Did you forget to remove the copyedit tag on 2005 German visa affair? You've mentioned it as completed on your drive article list. I'm not going to remove the tag just in case you still want to copyedit the article TNM101 (chat) 11:10, 14 March 2025 (UTC)

@TNM101 Thank you so much for catching that. I've just removed it. Ultraodan (talk) 23:56, 14 March 2025 (UTC)

Hello! It's the first time I'm actually trying to help on Wikipedia and I want to know about the general stuff I should know. For example: how to put a citation, what pages I should start for, etc. please reply when you have the time to. --Foxi.1995 (talk) 17:25, 20 March 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Foxi.1995 and welcome to Wikipedia! I can see someone already put a welcome message on your talk page with a bunch of useful links for getting started - those are really useful. There's a list of helpful guides at Help:Getting started.
For putting a citation, there is a "cite" button on the editor that helps you do this. It's very useful for the most common types of citations.
I recommend starting working on pages on topics that you are passionate about (but don't have a conflict of interest with).
If you've got any specific questions please feel free to ask me. Happy editing! Ultraodan (talk) 06:09, 21 March 2025 (UTC)

Can I make The Lingo Show the Movie. The Movie is Rated G. --Estoesta Mg (talk) 01:37, 25 March 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Estoesta Mg and welcome to Wikipedia! You can absolutely make an article for that movie if it is notable. The notability requirement for films is explained at WP:NFILM.
For your first article I highly recommend using the Articles for Creation process. You can read more about that at WP:AFC.

Question from Hasuna252 (03:53, 30 March 2025)

Hello Hiro , I hope you're doing well I just wanted to ask for advice for editing and translating some articles in Wikipedia , I am Arabic and want to translate articles in the website that doesn't have Arabic translate , so if you have advice it would help me make some Topics more widespread among Arab Thanks for your time --Hasuna252 (talk) 03:53, 30 March 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Hasuna252, I've got no experience in this but for translating articles from English to Arabic I think you would find more help at the Arabic Wikipedia. There's a guide about translating from English at WP:TRANSLATEUS and into Arabic at ar:ويكيبيديا:ترجمة مقالات ويكيبيديا. I hope this helps you. Ultraodan (talk) 05:50, 30 March 2025 (UTC)

Question from Soosee.yo (19:11, 30 March 2025)

Hi! Thank you for your assistance. Should I know anything essential before translating a Wikipedia page? I also wanted to know if I can add anything that's not in the original article. Thank you again! --Soosee.yo (talk) 19:11, 30 March 2025 (UTC)

@Soosee.yo Hi, the most important part is making sure you clearly state on the talk page where you translated the article FROM. You are absolutely welcome to add content that is not in the original, provided you have reliable sources (the standards for these vary between Wikipedias). Question from AndrewKnowledge (13:46, 25 February 2025)

Hi Ultra. I am working on a draft of a page in my sandbox however I am struggling to get images to render in the correct way. I'm happy to share the code or if possible you can check out the sandbox https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:AndrewKnowledge/sandbox that I've built before publishing. Happy to discuss more or answer any questions - appreciate the mentorship. --AndrewKnowledge (talk) 13:46, 25 February 2025 (UTC)

Hi @AndrewKnowledge, I've just had a quick look. I can see three images on your draft. The third one is fine.
The logo is displaying but in infoboxes you don't want the image box as well. So instead of having | logo = [[File:PG-Full-Logo-Original(png).png|thumb]] you would use | logo = PG-Full-Logo-Original(png).png. Makes it display much nicer.
The other image in the infoxbox needs to be uploaded to work. How to do this is fully explained at WP:UPIMAGE. However, I don't think that image is actually needed. I can't see it adding anything that the existing logo doesn't already contribute.
I hope this answered your question. Let me know if you've got any others. Happy editing! Ultraodan (talk) 07:02, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Thanks, Ultra!
Interested if you could expand on your 'can't see it adding anything' comment. My opinion on general pages is that there is more texture when information is demonstrated differently, and using a sample of Monster.com (similar industry - job boards) where they do have a corporate HQ image, which is why I was thinking to add the same for this sandbox. I take it you feel a bit differently? Interested to hear your stance in more detail. AndrewKnowledge (talk) 13:11, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
@AndrewKnowledge I stand very corrected. I think I was looking at the wrong image saying that, but what I said about needing to upload it still applies. You should be able to add it under the image parameter in the same way as the logo for the image at File:HQ_NemoursBldg.jpg but if that doesn't work let me know. Ultraodan (talk) 06:15, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
Very helpful @Ultraodan!
Sorry if I am being pedantic but I want to get this right by the formatting and Wiki SOPs; you mention 'image' parameter but I note that I have it as 'File:...' -- would this still be okay or am I using the wrong type/extension?
Also, semi-obviously, I intend to move this out of Sandbox and into production/public domain at some point. I've been providing what I deem as small edits across other Wikipedia pages I have some familiarity with where I know I am contributing to the greater overall knowledge; is there anything else I should be doing for prepping my page and my user account for the day when it is ready to publish? Being a contributor I know is looked at positively, just want to continue being a positive and active contributor.
Thanks for helping me learn. AndrewKnowledge (talk) 12:17, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
@AndrewKnowledge For the image parameter I mean the parameter in the infobox template. So the bit in the source editor that says |image = . You don't need to specify that it's a file when using this (and actually shouldn't). There's |logo_size = to take care of the size of the image. So instead of |image = [[File:Example.png]] you can just use |image = Example.png.
You've got the logo caption placed in the image caption. That would definitely need to be fixed to add another image there. You also have an external link in the image, if you want an image of the headquarters it would need to be replaced with that.
As for what you need to work on. You have a lot of statements (even entire sections) that lack sources. This needs to be fixed first. Ultraodan (talk) 00:25, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
Hi @Ultraodan
For the sourcing that you mentioned I've scoured to look for reliable fact-based sources. Is there a typical amount of citing needed per length of article? At least one, based on your comment? AndrewKnowledge (talk) 15:55, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
@AndrewKnowledge There's no sort of rule for citations per length. You need to have a citation for every claim made in the article. A reader should be able to look at your article and see what source you found every claim in. Ultraodan (talk) 02:58, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
Hey @Ultraodan
Thanks again for all your comments so far. I think I've digested the definition of a 'claim' and where one exists to add a substantive citation. Would there be anything more I am overlooking for the basis of a page that you can think of that would help make this the most appropriate at time of publication? AndrewKnowledge (talk) 15:22, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
@AndrewKnowledge I can't see any other immediate major problems from a quick look. The draft submission process can take a while so the earlier you submit it the earlier you'll either get it accepted or get more feedback. Ultraodan (talk) 03:49, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
Hi @Ultraodan
Tried to submit my page and it was rejected rather quickly - in less than four hours. Full description below. I don't want to lose my content so I've made some minor changes to give it a fresh update. I of course believe this is following policy and worthy of inclusion and hope to build many pages like this in the future, but am not sure what I am missing. Any insights? I've asked the AfC chat but couldn't hang in there more than 30min, no replies to my question to the general string.
Appreciate any comments you may have.

This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. @AndrewKnowledge I'm not used to writing articles on companies so I'm not super familiar with how they are usually done. I recommend removing or rewording anything that could sound like it's advertisement - such as a detailed list of services, unless something is specifically relevant. If you want more help you can ask on the talk page of the reviewer. Ultraodan (talk) 06:00, 2 April 2025 (UTC)

Question from Saltflatbike (23:15, 6 April 2025)

Hi Ultra: I would like to add to the Harley Davidson XR750 page. It is course a race bike and I own the World's Fastest, in Gas and Fuel. I will gather my record books for exact speeds and governing body. Any subjections for me ? I will be gone for a little bit and will check back.

Thank You Mickey --Saltflatbike (talk) 23:15, 6 April 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Saltflatbike, you can absolutely add to the page. Just make sure what you write is from a neutral point of view and has citations from reliable sources. My only worry is that your record books would need to be publicly accessible to be cited. Ultraodan (talk) 04:54, 7 April 2025 (UTC)

Question from Suveergowda (06:07, 19 April 2025)

How do I create a page on a person --Suveergowda (talk) 06:07, 19 April 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Suveergowda and welcome to Wikipedia! The first step is to check an article for this person doesn't already exist. You need to make sure this person is notable by Wikipedia's standards and that you can find reliable sources. If you know this person make sure you discolse that and if this person is alive you must follow the WP:BLP policy. To actually write the article there's a very good guide at WP:FIRST, since you're new you will have to use the WP:AFC process. I recommend editing existing articles for a bit first to get a hang on how articles are written. If you've got any questions please feel free to ask me. Ultraodan (talk) 06:13, 19 April 2025 (UTC)

Question from Rbs8083 on Dan Henning (23:29, 3 May 2025)

Hi, Sorry first try to add information on the subject. I know he played in 1965 for my father’s team (Norfolk Neptunes) and adding that to his history. Also there is a “template” I would like to update the 1965 year with information. Also is my my input “properly verified”? --Rbs8083 (talk) 23:29, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Rbs8083 and welcome to Wikipedia! You are more than welcome to add anything to that article, as long as you have a reliable source for it. Since Henning is alive you will need to follow the WP:BLP policy. I'm not familiar with that specific template but there is documentation at Template:Infobox college coach. I'm not sure what you mean by "properly verified" but you should make sure your additions have reliable sources. I've put a welcome message on your talk page with some more useful links. Question from Pubex (10:59, 13 May 2025)

Hi! I recently added a journal ranking table (Scopus, IF, JCI) to the PNAS article, based on JRank.net, but it was reverted. Could you help me understand what policy or guideline I may have violated (e.g., source reliability or formatting)? I’d like to add useful ranking data in a way that follows Wikipedia standards. Thanks! I aimed to present verifiable data in a clean table, following Wikipedia’s Manual of Style. If JRank is not considered reliable enough on its own, I'm happy to find and cite official Scopus or Web of Science URLs instead.

Please let me know if there’s a preferred format or source I should use. Happy to revise accordingly. Thanks! --Pubex (talk) 10:59, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Pubex, this is an area I'm not super familiar with but I can help you with general advice. In general, make sure you follow the requirements at reliable sources. You can see in the edit history that the revert reason was listed as Added content is not appropriate for this article. You'll probably get better answers if you ask the editor who reverted you (User:ZergTwo) on their talk page.

Question from Almanachas (19:27, 19 May 2025)

Hey, Ultra! I know this may sound extremely cheesy, but I joined wikipedia with the personal goal of... creating my personal page. Before you start laughing - I am a Lithuanian sports commentator, working with the biggest local basketball and football broadcasts, as well as international sporting events, such as the FIFA World Cup. I have more than twelve years of experience in this field, and I also have won three Lithuanian national freestyle rap battle events, going undefeated on all three occasions (3/3). Also, I have received the M.A.M.A. award (the Lithuanian equivalent of Grammy's) as the best hip-hop artist of the year. Do I fulfill the notability criteria and is it possible to create my own personal page? --Almanachas (talk) 19:27, 19 May 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Almanachas and welcome to Wikipedia. Do you meet the notability criteria? Maybe. You'll need reliable sources talking about you specifically, you'd probably fall under WP:JOURNALIST or WP:ANYBIO but still pay attention to the general notability guidelines. As for if you can create your own page, it is strongly discouraged. There's a full explanation at WP:YOURSELF but in short if you want to you will have to use the articles for creation process and make it very clear that you're writing about yourself. Hi @OrrMarkC and welcome to Wikipedia! Since you're new to create a page you will need to use the WP:AFC process. They've got some very helpful guides with how to do this. I also recommend looking at WP:YFA. If you've got any other questions please ask me! Ultraodan (talk) 09:07, 25 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from IIega on Wikipedia:Sleeper account (22:11, 24 May 2025)

Hello, how do I create a citation? --IIega (talk) 22:11, 24 May 2025 (UTC)

Hi @IIega and welcome to Wikipedia! This really depends on what you're trying to cite. There's a long list of templates at HELP:CS1 so you can find what you're looking for. These templates help citations all (mostly) look the same so that there's no confusion. They're not required but they make life a lot easier. If you've got any other questions or want me to clarify anything please ask! Ultraodan (talk) 09:11, 25 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from "jvs072001" (17:05, 28 May 2025)

Hello. How do I create a biography? --"jvs072001" (talk) 17:05, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from "jvs072001" (17:10, 28 May 2025)

Hello, I know about the life of a famous Indian scientist. I wish to create his biography. Kindly advise how should I do that. --"jvs072001" (talk) 17:10, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

Hi @"jvs072001" and welcome to Wikipedia! The first step is to double check there isn't already an article about him. After that make find some reliable sources and see if he meets the notability criteria. Maybe take a look at WP:NPROF for that. When you write the article you will need to use the WP:AFC process since you're new. The folks there are very helpful and can get the article up to standard. There's a very good guide about writing articles at H:YFA and if you have any questions please ask me! Ultraodan (talk) 09:01, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from Patcholive (12:28, 29 May 2025)

Hi Ultra, I came across a page that said it needed help with objectivity (which is something I've been doing with a lot of my suggested edits). I made the edits but they were reverted. I THINK what I did wrong was that I removed the tag at the top (which can only be removed by editors). Is that correct? Or did I make another error, too? I went back and did an objectivity edit again but this time left the error message in place. --Patcholive (talk) 12:28, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Patcholive, firstly, to be clear, you are an editor so if you believe an issue is resolved you can remove the tag. The reason it was reverted is because you didn't fix the NPOV in the article. At a quick glance your new edit has fixed this, but I recommend asking the editor who reverted you to look over it before removing the tag. That was User:Vegantics.
Also, quick tip, when your edits are reverted you can look in the page history to see who did it and if they put a reason in their edit summary. If you're unsure about it you can always ask them on their talk page. But also you're always welcome to ask me anything. Ultraodan (talk) 12:43, 29 May 2025 (UTC)
Probably moot at this point, but @Patcholive was a sockpuppet of the article's likely COI editor. Because there was ongoing COI editing I was quicker to revert the edit that I would normally and felt it was best to maintain the template until more time passed and/or a talk page discussion reached consensus that it could be removed. Didn't want to leave this ping unresolved. Vegantics (talk) 13:39, 29 May 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for pointing that out. Good revert. Ultraodan (talk) 02:54, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from Mrikenna.therock (05:58, 31 May 2025)

Hello, I just created my account. I want to become a major contributor and editor on Wikipedia. What's the best way to begin? --Mrikenna.therock (talk) 05:58, 31 May 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Mrikenna.therock and welcome to Wikipedia! The newcomer tasks (in the same place you found the link to me) are a great way to get started. I've also just posted a bunch of useful links on your talk page so you can look through those to help. Beyond that I recommend just finding articles you're interested in and seeing if they can be improved. If you've got any questions please ask me! Ultraodan (talk) 10:40, 31 May 2025 (UTC)

Serious but only Question for Digimon Adventure tri Loss

I need to ask you a serious but only question for Digimon tri 4 Loss, but in Digimon Adventure tri. – Loss, the fourth film of the Digimon Adventure tri. series, there are scenes where Sora first encounters Dark Gennai, and Dark Gennai makes unsettling gestures toward Meiko, including an instance where he licks Sora. Given that the English dub of the film was released between February/April 2018, around the time of the rise of the MeToo and Time's Up movements between January and March 2018 including award shows like BAFTAs and Golden Globes and even Cannes, do you think their a decision for the cast and crew to cut or alter these scenes in the English dub influenced by these movements? How do you think the English dub cast and crew respond to the cultural shifts regarding discussions on harassment and misconduct while adapting this part of the film for an international audience? Because I did knew and I felt it shouldn't been actually cut out of the movements. That scene kept intact felt completely embarrassing and shouldn't happened and shouldn't been in a franchise like Digimon. I even spoke to Jeff Nimoy who voiced Dark Gennai via email about that scene according to him he didn't knew that those movements were happening during the scene. It was actually released in February 2017 the original version in Japanese just eight months or a year (the same year as English dub) before the movements were coming to light. With the world fixated on the Hollywood sex scandals that come out over the last few years it's worth noting that this intolerable behavior was sabotage on sets and show business for decades before it came to light Digimon was no exception. 2A02:C7E:5E7D:E00:5D2A:1ABC:226E:4544 (talk) 10:38, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

Hi, I reverted your edits because you did not cite a reliable source. An RS (or multiple) is required for all claims in articles, especially any that could be controversial and especially involving people who are alive. What you added hits both. I don't know if you're right or not, but without a source it doesn't belong in the article. Ultraodan (talk) 11:11, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

Hi Ultraodan, I've just fixed a few tags you added in your generally positive copy edit of this page. You added citation needed, attribute and by whom tags to a particular section, which could be sourced to this article, named in the text quite clearly and very close to where the tags were added. I am grateful for the good work you do, but remember that it is much better to fix a problem than tag it. In situations like that it's worth just having a quick check to see if the citation/attribution might be provided easily from sources already linked.

Tags tend to have a very long lifespan unless placed on frequently visited pages, so a couple of extra minutes checking on articles can often result in a big net improvement to wikipedia. Boynamedsue (talk) 15:08, 6 June 2025 (UTC)

Hey @Boynamedsue, thanks for pointing that out and fixing my mistake. I must have missed those, not too sure why. Ultraodan (talk) 08:51, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

Hello. You're invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It started today on Monday June 16 and will run until Sunday July 13. There is over $3300 going into it, with $500 the top prize. If you are interested in winning something to save you money in buying books for future content, or just see it as a good editathon opportunity to see a lot of articles improved for subjects which interest you, sign up on the page in the participants section if interested. Even if you can only manage a few articles they would be very much appreciated and help make the content produced as diverse and broad as possible! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:01, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
