Hello, Vegantics, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like this place and decide to stay.

Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
How do I create citations?
  1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References==
{{Reflist}}
What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
A WikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.

Just kidding. Thank you so much for tagging articles that are lacking sources. The {{more citations needed}} tag sorted them to Category:Articles lacking sources from January 2024 which is a backlog I'm currently trying to deal with by citing sources. If you're interested, you can find me and others at Wikipedia:WikiProject Unreferenced articles. CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 08:47, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Draft Review - Musaad Al-Harthi

[edit]

Dear Vegantics,

I hope you are doing well. I wanted to follow up on the draft for the Musaad Al-Harthi article. I have made the necessary revisions based on the feedback I received, and I believe the article is now ready for review and publication.

Could you please review the updated draft when you have the opportunity? I appreciate your time and assistance with this process.

Thank you so much! علي بدر العتيبي (talk) 02:08, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @علي بدر العتيبي, thank you for reaching out. I’m not an Articles for Creation reviewer and would encourage you to use WP:AFCREVIEW to have an experienced editor review your article. That being said I’m happy to do a review and provide feedback before you submit. Just let me know and I can get to it on Monday. Good luck with your edits! Spledia

[edit]

Due to their obvious lack of editorial oversight, Spledia (talk · contribs) seems to be operating what, in effect, is an unregistered bot account. I've referred them to the bot approval process. In the meantime, I've blocked them from editing article content until they can get approval. Thanks for giving me a heads up on this! — The Anome (talk) 05:45, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Roads

[edit]

Hey, thanks for merging +10 roads to A roads in Zone 5 of the Great Britain numbering scheme. Could you do the same with all the roads from other zones who are unreferenced and fail WP:GEOROAD? Kind regards. Luis7M (talk) 10:29, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Luis7M, thanks for reminding me of this project, it's a good effort and I'll merge more articles when I have time. I would also encourage you to WP:BEBOLD and do the merges yourself-- if you look at my edits to A1098 road, A roads in Zone 1 of the Great Britain numbering scheme, and the corresponding talk page you can see what steps I have taken and what edit summaries I used.
Alternatively if you want to support this effort without doing merges yourself, I use this website to identify which articles are unreferenced rather than checking each article. As a result, I won't see any articles that do not have the unreferenced article template. If you want to go through and add the template as needed, it will ensure that nothing is overlooked. Cheers! Question about edit revert

[edit]

Hello there, I’m a student doing research and edits on artists’ Wikipedia pages and noticed that you just reverted the edits I made this morning. I’m definitely new to this so I’m just wondering if you can let me know why you reverted the edits? YiyangMikeLiu (talk) 19:55, 11 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@YiyangMikeLiu, You added content without citations or citations to WP:PRIMARY sources such as Talwar Gallery. Your removed maintenance templates without justification. The tone of your additions was extremely promotional. Most significantly, artists associated with Talwar Gallery have a long, long history of paid editors adding unreferenced promotional content and so it is unlikely at best that your edits are in good faith. Vegantics (talk) 20:00, 11 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I just googled your username. Tell your bosses to knock off the promotional editing. Vegantics (talk) 20:01, 11 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your feedback. As unfriendly as your response is I do appreciate you getting back to me quickly and I’m just wondering if there’s any constructive feedback on making edits to the artist page? I do believe that it is fair to have an artist’s latest exhibitions updated and as for sources I’m just wondering if other art journals online also count as primary? I’d assume that art journals written by critics would count as secondary. Thank you so much! YiyangMikeLiu (talk) 20:09, 11 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@YiyangMikeLiu Let me be very clear: you cannot edit articles related to Talwar gallery. Doing so will get your account banned if it isn't going to be already. That being said, art journals not connected to the artist in question are absolutely okay. The goal of WP:SECONDARY is to ensure that information is notable enough to merit inclusion on Wikipedia and is not biased through a connection to the article subject. Lists of downloadable PlayStation games

[edit]

I found that you added the Unreferenced template into Lists of downloadable PlayStation games, which is a list of lists that wouldn't need any references and as such wouldn't need to be tagged. Please keep in mind. Go D. Usopp (talk) 09:11, 19 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Go D. Usopp, per MOS:LISTS, lists “must be supported with references like any article.” I didn’t see guidance excepting lists of lists from that requirement— is there somewhere else that clarifies this? Thanks. Vegantics (talk) 09:50, 19 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Per Wikipedia:List of lists, these lists may have references, but not mandated. Go D. Usopp (talk) 09:58, 19 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also from sourcing rules per WP:LISTVERIFY, there are no statements that would warrant inline citations as references in this list of lists. Go D. Usopp (talk) 10:01, 19 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Go D. Usopp, I'm not seeing where in WP:LoL it says that references are optional. If this is a policy across all lists of lists I'd like to respond accordingly. However, without citations it becomes much more difficult to demonstrate WP:NLIST.
As for Lists of downloadable PlayStation games, video games are by no means my domain. I assumed that the information about these games being originally released for PlayStation and later being made available for download (as well as the relevant consoles) would require citations to verify. If this is such obvious knowledge that it does not require a citation, I defer to you. Vegantics (talk) 13:34, 19 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

space.com

[edit]

It looks like maybe in your purge of Willamette Weekly citations you inadvertently deleted a space.com citation. Or was that intentional? The article in question is Hakuto-R Mission 2. Feel free to follow up on the talk page there, or ping me. Best regards, (— 𝐬𝐝𝐒𝐝𝐬 — - talk) 21:34, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Sdsds, While removing the Willamette Weekly citations from Hakuto-R Mission 2, I also tried to combine duplicated citations and accidentally replaced the space.com article with one the ispace-inc.com citation from the preceding sentence. Thank you for bringing it to my attention-- I moved the ispace-inc.com citation back to the correct spot. Vegantics (talk) 21:58, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
