Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Floorless Coaster, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Do not move pages without intiating discussion JlACEer (talk) 19:52, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Katy Perry at Vogue World Paris 2024.webp requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a copyright violation and has no credible claim of fair use or permission. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:53, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi EclipseExpress. Please take a close look at Wikipedia:Image use policy because it seems as if you're not familiar with the kinds of things Wikipedia requires when uploading images. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:55, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem icon One of your recent edits has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for information on how to contribute your work appropriately. For legal reasons, Wikipedia strictly cannot host copyrighted text or images from print media or digital platforms without an appropriate and verifiable license. Contributions infringing on copyright will be removed. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information. This is your final warning. DMacks (talk) 21:59, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I think you're misunderstanding what "own work" means when it comes to image licensing. Only the copyright holder (i.e. the photographer who took this photo) can release their work under the type of copyright license you used. Did you take this photo yourseff? If not, you can't upload it to Wikipedia under such a license without providing a way to verifying that the person who did has given their WP:CONSENT. As I posted above, you seem to be understanding some important things about image licensing. You might want to ask for assistance at WP:MCQ, WP:TEA or WP:HD before uploading any more photos like this if you're not sure about their copyright status. It's OK to make a mistake like this once, maybe even twice, but if you keep making it over and over again, an administrator is likely going to step in and take some action against your account. So, it's better to ask for help when you're not sure. -- Marchjuly (talk) 08:04, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Katy Perry 2017 Vogue Cover.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Katy Perry 2017 Vogue Cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of non-free use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:26, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable non-free use File:Katy Perry 2025 Invictus Games.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Katy Perry 2025 Invictus Games.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This is an automated notification. Please refer to the page's history for further information. DatBot (talk) 00:33, 22 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. A page you created or have recently made significant changes to may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for pages, so it has been blanked and redirected. Three typical reasons for this are that: (1) the article's subject appears to fail our notability guidelines; (2) the article is unsourced; or (3) the sources used in the article are unreliable. The page's history is preserved and it is possible to restore the article: If you believe that this page should remain included on Wikipedia or that this action was taken in error, then you may revert the edit that blanked and redirected the page.

Wikipedia:Your first article has more information about creating articles, and you may also want to read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you. Aydoh8[contribs] 11:04, 31 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
