This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Film. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.

Adding a new AfD discussion

Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:

Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Film|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.

There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.

Removing a closed AfD discussion

Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.

Other types of discussions

You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Film. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.

Not finding enough sources to meet WP:GNG/WP:ORG. All of the sources listed in the article fail in significant coverage. Additionally, an internet search did not turn up anything else of note. This film production company fails WP:NCORP. The sources are all the organization's own website(s) (not independent), IMDb (WP:USERGENERATED), or WP:TRIVIALMENTIONS. Billion Dollar Spy (film)

Upcoming film that has not commenced any photography and does not have significant coverage from its announcement. Per WP:NFF Films that have not been confirmed by reliable sources to have commenced principal photography should not have their own articles, therefore this fails WP:NFILM. Keep, and a clear one. It does appear to have some meaningful coverage from the Hollywood trades (see 1, 2). This article says that "principal photography has begun." Comment: Is there any community consensus that short films cannot be redirected to list articles? According to a discussion at WP:FILM, films can redirect to list articles - are there any list articles that would be appropriate here? I'm not sure if films without articles (let alone short films) can be added to articles like List of American films of 2013 - however at the same time there does not seem to be any requirements on the page as far as inclusion goes. Keep - Franchise includes Lucifer (2019) and L2: Empuraan (2025), two of the highest-grossing Malayalam film series, with significant coverage in dependable sources. Meets WP:NFILM as well through substantial coverage in reliable, independent sources, such as reviews and box-office analyses for Lucifer and promotional coverage for L2: Empuraan in outlets like Times of India and Indian Express. WP:NFILM does not require a franchise to have a certain number of films to be notable. WP:CRYSTAL would only apply if the article includes unverified predictions or details about future developments. I guess you would argue the third film, L3: The Beginning. A source could be added about production information or a release date. Though, I'm still voting to keep this article. Comment: The pages that list Ghanian films by year do not include one for 2023. It may be worthwhile to either create a page for 2023 (and have this as the sole entry until others add more) or to combine the other films into a single article until there's enough to justify breaking it off by year.
