Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Dance
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Dance. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Dance|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Dance. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

Unnotable native american powwow dance-style teacher. 32 sources cited in this article do not discuss him in any significant depth. SolxrgashiUnited (talk) 13:20, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- Speedy keep. The magazines and government websites and reliable souces. The new user appears not to understand the meaning of “significant coverage.” Bearian (talk) 13:59, 6 December 2024 (UTC)

- I removed once reference so general it didn’t even mention him, and tagged it as citation needed. But the IndianCountryToday and news media are reliable sources. Bearian (talk) 15:22, 6 December 2024 (UTC)

- Speedy keep - In a BEFORE search, I'm finding a lot of things about him and his dance troupe in multiple fully independent reliable sources that are more than trivial mentions; these are verifiable evidence of his notability. Netherzone (talk) 15:38, 7 December 2024 (UTC)

The result was keep. Please note that this does not preclude a possible merge discussion down the line. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 01:12, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

Reviewed during NPP. No indication of notability under GNG or SNG. Appears to be some type of award but there are no sources which really cover it much less GNG sources. North8000 (talk) 18:36, 18 November 2024 (UTC)

- Keep for historic reasons. There are plenty of notable people from Nepal who were recognized after getting this award. It has been stopped because of royal name attached to it after Nepal entered into the republic era. Plenty of sources are available if you search in native language (i.e. Nepali - इन्द्रराज्यलक्ष्मी प्रज्ञा–पुरस्कार) nirmal (talk) 04:00, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- Keep. Notable national award established by a Head of state. We generally keep awards with national significance.4meter4 (talk) 13:04, 25 November 2024 (UTC)

- Merge: From [1] page 49 (reflected in the Himalayan Times article[2]), this award was the fourth -- and least important -- of the New Years' arts awards from the Royal Nepal Academy. I'm ok with a keep for now (in the interests of a close), but believe that a subsequent merge to Royal Nepal Academy leaving cats intact would be preferable given the minimal detail (inclusion of awards with limited coverage at their issuing organisation's article is fairly common). ~Hydronium~Hydroxide~(Talk)~ 05:37, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
