Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Greece

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Greece. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.

Adding a new AfD discussion
Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
  1. Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
  2. You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Greece|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
Removing a closed AfD discussion
Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
Other types of discussions
You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Greece. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
Further information
For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to Europe.

Non-notable musician. Cannot find significant coverage in reliable sources. ~Darth StabroTalk • Contribs 01:08, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The Battle of Trebeshina does not meet the notability standards outlined by Wikipedia due to lack of independent, reliable secondary sources that provide in-depth coverage of this battle as an independent publication. The battle might be better documented in main article of Greco-Italian War, therefore there is little benefit to creating a separate page for this article. • Delete per nom and one source isn't enough

  • Strong Oppose I added sources upon which the article can be expanded (inline citation or additional material), currently being at 10 WP:RS. We keep articles with less, sometime far less. If we every time we delete stub articles without doing the due process of evaluating whether an article can be expanded then WP will not grow. Sure the article requires work, but this precisely the reason for being a stub. This is not a reason to delete it. Note that I could have added even more sources. The subject does not meet WP:GNG, as the subject has not been covered significantly by multiple independent, reliable secondary sources. Additionally, the article incorporates so few sources that there is not an encyclopedic level of notability apart from brief references to events surrounding the subject. Keep & Improve - I think if more sources can be found then it can stay, I can search for some extra sources. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 09:39, 31 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That would be great. I am sure that sources exist, I just don't know how to search for them. Kelob2678 (talk) 09:43, 31 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I managed to find some more, one of the problems is the town has so many different name variations, but I managed to find a couple more luckily. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a (talk) 10:29, 31 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It was covered in a Greek military journal published in 1973, there is an article about it in the Greek version of Life. The article also contains a book and this Greek document as references, so it is clearly notable but should be expanded. Kelob2678 (talk) 17:10, 31 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
