should be removed due to its lack of sufficient independent sources and potential violations of notability standards for companies. It may be more appropriate to include Paystack within the context of broader fintech topics. Xrimonciam (talk) 08:31, 18 March 2025 (UTC)

- Weak keep: The sources in the article all look like churnalism or routine announcements, but I did find this at the BBC: [1], and this (mostly interview) from CNN: [2], and this from BusinessDay Nigeria: [3]. None of those look especially in-depth but there is some diffuse coverage. WeirdNAnnoyed (talk) 10:58, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- CNN has an interview with such coverage: Stripe acquired Nigeria’s Paystack, reportedly for over $200 million. Founded in Lagos in 2015, Paystack says it now has more than 60,000 clients, including corporations like Domino’s Pizza and telecom giant MTN.
- Businessday has only this mention: Companies like Flutterwave (Nigeria), M-Pesa (Kenya), and Paystack (Nigeria) have transformed the digital payments landscape
- BBC is also an interview-video 2 minutes long Unicorbia (talk) 15:55, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- Delete the sources are not reliable (mentions, interviews, wp:trades), thus not following the NCORP rule. Unicorbia (talk) 15:56, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- Strong keep: I gave myself part of a day to assess whether Paystack meets WP:NCORP and WP:GNG. My conclusion is a strong keep. The company has received significant coverage from BBC, CNN, and Reuters, along with Global Finance, Business Day, TechCrunch, and Forbes (WP:RS). These sources document its role in Africa’s fintech sector and its $200M acquisition by Stripe which remains one of the largest fintech acquisitions in Africa’s history. The article has been substantially improved, but non-WP:RS sources should still be removed, and some copyediting is needed. Deleting this article would reinforce systemic bias by removing coverage of a major African fintech success story. Similar Western fintech companies such as nCino, Cross River Bank, and Brubank have standalone articles. If concerns persist over sourcing or structure, further improvements, not deletion, are the appropriate course of action. The subject is clearly notable. HerBauhaus (talk) 11:20, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- Strong keep: I agree with HerBauhaus above, the company adheres to the notability requirement and the argument that deleting it would contribute towards systematic bias for the region. As proposer User:Xrimonciam has also submitted Paystack's founder for deletion as well, it does make me wonder about the motivation behind this nomination. Paystack was one of the first startups to be accepted to Y Combinator, and their exit to Stripe is one of the biggest African fintech success stories of the past decade. - Keep: The nominator was definitely kidding when they said
It may be more appropriate to include Paystack within the context of broader fintech topics
. While in agreement with the above, current sources and a cursory search indicates a clear WP:ORGCRIT pass for Paystack. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 16:45, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
