Halloween is celebrated across the United States: every single city is home to scores of events that are advertised and collated in local news. This article is entirely tidbits of generic trivia with nothing that's actually encyclopedically significant or any substance that brings together an article explaining why this is a coherent topic that needs a standalone page. Like holy crap, Spirit Halloween has over 1,500 stores each fall, many in Portland and elsewhere in Oregon, so why in the world is it relevant to list one specific location? Every city has haunted houses, what's the point of just name-dropping a few? Every amusement park has Halloween events, everywhere hosts trick-or-treating events, everywhere has horror film screenings, countless artists do themed works. A selection of generic local event listings with unnecessarily specific examples from the last few years doesn't make a cohesive, notable article with substance and lasting significance. A skating rink "has played Halloween music", who cares? Reywas92Talk 15:21, 14 October 2025 (UTC)

- Delete. There are examples where an individual city gets its own article for a much more global celebration. Nuremberg gets an article on its Christmas market even though every German-speaking city or town has one, because Nuremberg's one is especially famous outside its own area, historically important, written about by a wider press. Portland doesn't seem to be exceptional for its coverage of Halloween, so much as I love the festival and I'm glad they celebrate it properly, I can't see the justification for the article. - Just draftify the page (I'll request a refund if the page is deleted). I'll work on it more later, but I'm not going to bother at AfD. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:23, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- Draftify as requested by Another Believer. The article has potential – but if left in main space is garbage. Portland OR, Austin, Salem MA, Brooklyn, Rutland/Burlington VT, and maybe Upstate New York, are examples of "weird" places that have well-known Halloween activities.
