File permission problem with File:Ron Anders.jpeg

Thanks for uploading File:Ron Anders.jpeg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 14:21, 1 May 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Bob Parsons (auburn).jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Bob Parsons (auburn).jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a copyright violation of Municipal governments are not the US Federal Government and so are not automatically PD and has no credible claim of fair use or permission. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Whpq (talk) 14:19, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Whpq I got the information about image status from David D. Dorton, director of public affairs from the City of Auburn website. Yoblyblob (Talk) :) 14:20, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- The City of Auburn would need to confirm this with WP:VRT by following the instructions at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. I've removed the speedy deletion tags and tagged them as lacking evidence of permission. -- Whpq (talk) 14:28, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Whpq thank you for letting me know. I have contacted the public affairs director with a request to add a notice of copyright to the site. Should I just remove those tags and add the source for when permission is confirmed? Yoblyblob (Talk) :) 14:30, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- If a copyright notice indicating that the images (or that all content) on the City of Auburn web site are public domain, you can remove tags. Best practice would be to use the Internet Archive to archive a copy with the permission notice. I suggest you add and fill in {{Information}} template on the images. That template structures the data for easy review, and also has a "permission" parameter where you can place the archived copy for proof of permission. This will prevent any issues in the future if the City of Auburn revamp their site and the page with the permission disappears. -- Whpq (talk) 14:41, 1 May 2024 (UTC)

RFA2024 update: phase I concluded, phase II begins
Hi there! Phase I of the Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/2024 review has concluded, with several impactful changes gaining community consensus and proceeding to various stages of implementation. Some proposals will be implemented in full outright; others will be discussed at phase II before being implemented; and still others will proceed on a trial basis before being brought to phase II. The following proposals have gained consensus:

- Proposal 3b (in trial): Make the first two days discussion-only
- Proposal 13 (in trial): Admin elections
- Proposal 14 (implemented): Suffrage requirements
- Proposals 16 and 16c (phase II discussion): Allow the community to initiate recall RfAs and Community recall process based on dewiki
- Proposal 17 (phase II discussion): Have named Admins/crats to monitor infractions
- Proposal 24 (phase II discussion): Provide better mentoring for becoming an admin and the RfA process
- Proposal 25 (implemented): Require nominees to be extended confirmed
See the project page for a full list of proposals and their outcomes. A huge thank-you to everyone who has participated so far :) looking forward to seeing lots of hard work become a reality in phase II. theleekycauldron (talk), via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 08:09, 5 May 2024 (UTC)

The article Eugene Stanaland has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Local politician and economics professor; doesn't pass GNG, NPOL or NACADEMIC. Insufficient secondary, reliable, independent sources to establish notability.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Dclemens1971 (talk) 20:05, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
Nomination of Eugene Stanaland for deletion

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.Dclemens1971 (talk) 13:10, 11 May 2024 (UTC)

Recent deletion nominations
You have recently bulk nominated Serie C articles for deletion (later withdrawn) and DPR Korea Football League for PROD (which I have removed). The speed by which you made these edits was matched only by the lack of thought given to them. Your edits have been incredibly disruptive and a huge time sink to for out. Please think very carefully about doing anything similar again. GiantSnowman 10:59, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
- I do understand the Serie C articles, the nominations were rushed and unneeded. The Korea DPR season articles were not, even if they were done in a short timeframe, none of those seasons had any coverage outside of the singular RSSSF season, and especially for the earlier ones Yoblyblob (Talk) :) 12:21, 27 May 2024 (UTC)

Hello, Yoblyblob
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Mdann52, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, 2024 Futsal Week U-19 Summer Cup, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.
If you wish to contest the deletion:
- Edit the page
- Remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- Click the button.
If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Mdann52}}

- I added an empty section per usual election page format Yoblyblob (Talk) :) 13:23, 4 July 2024 (UTC)
- Not sure what you mean by that, I'm not seeing a "Conduct" section on any past election pages. Belbury (talk) 13:29, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

Lee County elections
Hello.
It was ambitious to create that page, but are they really notable, I mean Wikipedia notable?
Are you going to create articles for all other counties too? HandsomeFella (talk) 22:01, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- It is my belief that they are notable- both local and statewide coverage (per WP:NEVENT, the coverage is lasting, with articles being from around the December mark up to now)
- No, I do not plan on creating articles for other counties, simply as it does not interest me to do so Yoblyblob (Talk) :) 23:18, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- Lasting coverage can be said about many local elections. Not a single candidate in the article is linked, so I guess there are no wiki article about any of them (correct me if I'm wrong). So what was it about these specific elections that made them noteworthy? HandsomeFella (talk) 15:46, 28 September 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry for a very late response, but there is not anything “specific” about the elections. It is just general coverage being substantive enough. One position that did receive a higher-than usual amount of coverage was the district judge Republican primary. Yoblyblob (Talk) :) 19:09, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
