Scripting Assistance on WP:ITNC

Howdy! I have a question for you. I am thinking of a script that does the following on a monthly basis.

1. Parse through every ITNC nomination 2. Identify unique editor names who have contributed to the article review 3. Generate a table with the following fields - ITN Article name | Reviewer 4. Bonus if we can generate a table with the following fields - ITN Article Name | Reviewer | Reviewing Vote (Support / Oppose) 5. Bonus if we can generate another table with the following fields - ITN Article Name | RD or News Blurb | Posting Status | Posting Admin

Do you think you'd be able to help with this? Thanks. Ktin (talk) 20:22, 5 August 2024 (UTC)

Question from XIVIIII (16:23, 19 September 2024)

Hello, is there anything major i should avoid doing when making minor edits? --XIVIIII (talk) 16:23, 19 September 2024 (UTC)

@XIVIIII: Hello. Generally, one should mark the edits as "minor" only if they consist of typo fixes, or general html/wikicode fixes, or minor grammatical corrections when these corrections do not change the meaning of that text. Other than that the edits should not be marked as minor. You can find more details on Help:Minor edit. Kindly let me know if you have any questions or doubts regarding Wikipedia. —usernamekiran (talk) 16:34, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
Thank you, I believe that will help me when making edits, so that I do not label edits incorrectly. XIVIIII (talk) 17:42, 19 September 2024 (UTC)

Please stop KiranBOT

Your bot, in importing coordinates from Wikidata (which I think is a bad idea in the first place), is completely messing up by adding malformatted {{coord}} templates, as here. Please stop the bot at least until it's able to properly format the template. Deor (talk) 17:19, 6 October 2024 (UTC)

@Deor: Hi. I had already stopped the bot, but due to other reason. Before filing the approval request for the bot, I had gone through coord template's documentation. Looks like I missed something? Would you kindly let me know all the formats of the coords template, or where can I find it? It would be appreciated a lot. —usernamekiran (talk) 17:27, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
Well, the bot was adding templates in the form {{Coord|7°32'24"S|104°34'48"E|display=inline,title}} when the proper format would be {{Coord|7|32|24|S|104|34|48|E|display=inline,title}}. Of course, it was also omitting useful parameters such as "type" and "region", but I suppose there's no way to program a bot to handle those. In addition, it seems to have been adding coords twice, as here, requiring someone to delete the duplicate infobox parameter.
The business of indiscriminately importing coordinates from Wikidata has been discussed at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Geographical coordinates and elsewhere, and there has never been any consensus to do so. Whether you can get the bot to operate properly seems less important than whether this task should be undertaken at all. I think you would need to get consensus for that, either at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Geographical coordinates or at some more general forum. Deor (talk) 18:04, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
@Deor: Thanks. The task was requested at WP:BOTREQ. It seemed non-controversial, and assumed it had consensus. The duplicated addition was the reason I stopped the bot. I will first fix the format, then initiate a discussion at WikiProject Geographical coordinates. Thanks again, —usernamekiran (talk) 18:11, 6 October 2024 (UTC)

Hi. How do I change my username please? --Rockstargroup (talk) 14:47, 21 October 2024 (UTC)

  • @Rockstargroup: Hi. Generally, the username change process is described at WP:CHU. But given that you have total of three edits, having a clean start is a better way. Simply log out of your current account, wait for a 2-3 days (a week is preferred), then create a new account with preferred username, and never log back to "Rockstargroup" account. Having multiple accounts is generally not a good idea, see WP:Socking. —usernamekiran (talk) 16:18, 21 October 2024 (UTC)

Question from Una Sama (16:36, 28 October 2024)

Hello :> I wanted to know what should I name the page when making a userbox on Wikipedia, I'm familiar with making the Userboxs itself on the fandom shipping wiki and on there when creating a new page you put it as template:Userbox/*insert name* as the title name so that way it's not a main page. So I wanted to ask if that's the same here or something similar to that when creating the page for userboxes. --Una Sama (talk) 16:36, 28 October 2024 (UTC)

@Una Sama: the title of the userbox should convey the idea about the topic of the userbox. Regarding the exact location/address of the userbox, unlike fandom, English Wikipedia prefers the userboxes in user-space, it can be either in your userspace, or in "User:UBX/*insert name*". eg: User:Johnl1479/Userbox/*nix, User:Jor.langneh/Linux Mint these two are in creator's own userspace, - or User:UBX/OpenBSD, which is a shared userspace. —usernamekiran (talk) 17:56, 28 October 2024 (UTC)

Question from EdgarsKiecis (13:22, 8 July 2024)

Hello Sir,

Lately I have been making edits (mostly updating latest official data on the matters and countries I am interested in). Never had issues until now.

Decided to update my native country's WIKI page: https://lv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latvija

In the source code updated the IKP PPP (GDP PPP) data and GDP per capita (PPP). However, I wanted to add the nominal values as well: IKP nominālais (GDP nominal) and the same with GDP per capita (nominal). With all the official IMF data and references etc.

Nevertheless they do not appear on the right side.

Could you please spare a minute and help me out with it? Not sure how do I add something to the right side (overview) of the country's data. Whatever I do, I can only change existing data, but cannot add a new section.

Best regards, Edgars Kiecis --EdgarsKiecis (talk) 13:22, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

Nonstop messages from KiranBOT

Hello @Usernamekiran: May I know why your bot KiranBOT has been messaging me this three times in a row, even after I denied it with the bots template? Thanks. — ‎‎‎hhypeboyh 💬✏️ 03:13, 2 November 2024 (UTC)

@HypeBoy: Hello. Thanks for bringing the issues to my notice. I was aware of that would happen because of the way you had denied the bot, and I was going to fix it soon. Regarding the repeated messages: the bot runs every night at 03:03, UTC. During every run, it was looking for KiranBOTmsgID:1253441495 on your talkpage, as part of the original message. The msg ID is unique to each message. As you were removing the message along with msg ID, the bot was thinking the message was never delivered, hence it was re-adding that message. I have fixed both these issues now, and no-one should receive duplicated messages. —usernamekiran (talk) 17:32, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
@Usernamekiran: Thank you for fixing the issues. I didn't realize I denied your bot wrong. Should I change how I write my bot template? Best, — ‎‎‎hhypeboyh 💬✏️ 01:12, 3 November 2024 (UTC)
@HypeBoy: no. you denied it correctly, but my bot was looking for a few other templates, and not the one you had inserted. I have fixed the issue now - now it looks for all variants. In short, you do not have to make any changes, now all the variants of "nobots" have been covered. —usernamekiran (talk) 18:31, 3 November 2024 (UTC)

Is it possible that I can disable KiranBOT from delivering teahouse archive messages to my talkpage, and rather have them on separate page like User:ExclusiveEditor/Teahouse? Thanks, ExclusiveEditor Notify Me! 05:43, 18 November 2024 (UTC)

But given the low occurrences of you receiving the archival notification, I think it would be more practical to use an archive bot like Lowercase sigmabot III or ClueBot III, and using {{DNAU}} and manually archiving the notifications to your subpage. —usernamekiran (talk) 12:54, 20 November 2024 (UTC)

Hey! I’m tryna create an article with my phone, how do edit the ‘quick facts’ content part ? --Vanessa Nomisaghan (talk) 13:42, 22 November 2024 (UTC)

@Vanessa Nomisaghan: Hello. I couldn't find new pages in your contribution history. But generally, on mobile, you should see a picture of pencil/pen on the right side of section title. Clicking on it will edit that particular section. For general questions like these, you would get better answers from multiple editors at WP:Teahouse. —usernamekiran (talk) 08:44, 23 November 2024 (UTC)

Question from LuigiAK (11:53, 27 November 2024)

Good afternoon. I am wondering if I am able to write a bio on myself? Technically one might argue there is a conflict of interest in publishing on wiki as obviously I have a direct interest in the content and what I would like it to cover, but in this case it will be solely to ensure that browser searches for my name find a home with short and relevant information about me. Specifically, I am a debut author of historical fiction whose two novels will be published in 2025, and it's important for me readers have a place to source a bio about me. Advice? --LuigiAK (talk) 11:53, 27 November 2024 (UTC)

The bank also has representative offices in Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong SAR, Pakistan, and Türkiye. As of 31 December 2023, the bank employed a total of 7,629 people [5] in 559 offices. Hi Ezlev --LuigiAK (talk) 14:10, 11 December 2024 (UTC)

There is a mop reserved in your name

You are a remarkable editor in many ways. You would be a good administrator, in my opinion, and appear to be well qualified. You personify an administrator without tools and have gained my support already!

Hello. I was active as an IP editor for three years during 2016 to 2018. I saw your activity in page move venues, and ANI. I was never active in AFD as there is generally a prejudice against IP there. You showed promise, knowledge and temperament to become an admin. Biggest thing i was impressed by was your communication, followups and cheerful messages to recently inactive editors. I had a few names in my mind whom i thought would become admins. Lot of them have been admins, rest have gone inactive including paleo neonate, rentier and elmidae. I was thinking of coming back but my IP ranges are generally blocked. I had recently posted about that either on teahouse or AN or ANI, can't remember. I am definitely not going to create an account and i don't have much free time either. All you have to do is to increase your activity again — you were already on the right track and now you are an admin on Marathi wikipedia too. Best of luck!

Thank you. But I am not considering for RfA. Also, even if I thought about it, you forgot about the most important thing: I am low on content creation. Most of edits to mainspace in last 2-3 years have been minor, either reverting vandalism, or gnoming. This would tank almost any RfA. But thanks again for your kind words. (also copied from the talkpage) —usernamekiran (talk) 19:13, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
Well, I passed my nightmare of an RfA without much content creation but it was just barely. You might have better luck at administrative elections where the scrutiny is less intense and there are not voting sections where opposing editors can go on and on about what they don't care for in your editing history. You still have questions but removing the voting statements cuts down on the vitriol. By the way, I think you'd make an excellent administrator so I'd encourage you to consider it. You sure have enough editing experience, more than the average RfA candidate. Liz Read! Talk! 02:28, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
hehe. Thank you. This means a lot. It's difficult to gauge one's own contributions. Maybe I might consider running for election, or old-fashioned RfA after all. —usernamekiran (talk) 03:07, 24 November 2024 (UTC)

@Flashyguy98: Hello. I dont know much about rugby, but if you meet this notability criteria for sports people, someone will eventually create an article for you. You may also request an article (if you meet the notability criteria) at Wikipedia:Requested articles/Sports. Also, there are several scams/cons going on, Wikipedia never asks for money for creating article, or for protecting it. So do not hand money to anybody for editing Wikipedia for you. You can get more information about it at reliable sources. —usernamekiran (talk) 19:04, 7 January 2025 (UTC)

Speedy delete or the Tk Wilson Article follow up

Dear Usernamekiran/ Editor/Moderator,
I am writing to express my concern regarding the recent speedy deletion of my article under the A7 criterion. After reviewing the guidelines outlined for A7, I believe the deletion may not have been appropriate due to the following reasons:
1. Credible Claim of Significance:
The article contained a statement that attributes noteworthiness to the subject. As per the guidelines, any statement that plausibly claims significance, even without sourcing, ensures that A7 does not apply. For example, my article mentioned Tk Wilson is Jamaican FASHION Model, in which he is, TK Wilson is the male Fashion Faces of the Caribbean for 2023, Many of he's audience share a keen interest in he's unique fashion sense. Additionally, he as garnered attention from models and agents who are eager to learn more about him and he's journey as an emerging face in the fashion industry, check he's google knowledge panel for confirmation (https://g.co/kgs/frfoSSp) . This constitutes a credible claim of significance as it highlights a noteworthy contribution or achievement.
2. Notability vs. Significance:
While I acknowledge that the subject may still require further evidence of notability under Wikipedia’s broader guidelines, significance is a lower standard. The existence of a plausible claim of significance in the article demonstrates potential for further research to uncover notability. Deletion under A7 denies this opportunity prematurely.
3. Plausibility of the Claim:
According to the two-part test, the claim must be both credible and significant. The statement(s) in my article were plausible and, if true, would demonstrate notability or justify further investigation. There was no indication that the claim was blatantly false or constituted a hoax.
4. References and Sources:
Although the article may have lacked inline citations, the absence of sources does not invalidate a credible claim of significance under A7. The potential for additional research should have been considered before applying the deletion tag.
5. Alternative Actions:
If there were concerns about the article’s content, it could have been tagged for improvement, redirected, or proposed for deletion (AfD) instead of speedy deletion. This would have allowed time for editors to address issues and potentially substantiate the subject’s notability.
I kindly request a reconsideration of this deletion, or at the very least, an opportunity to improve the article to meet Wikipedia’s standards. I am more than willing to work collaboratively to ensure the article aligns with the platform’s guidelines.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response.

KiranBOT removing ffdc templates

Your bot mistook FFD discussion as expired, so it attempted removal of ffdc templates. I reverted the attempt, but I dunno when the bot will re-attempt the removal. George Ho (talk) 16:39, 18 January 2025 (UTC)

@George Ho: Thanks. I will look into why the bot did it. —usernamekiran (talk) 16:48, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
@George Ho: I looked into it. The bot was looking for sections/discussions with individual file names. ie, File:LookAroundYou Series1DVD.jpg, and File:LookAroundYou Series2DVD.jpg. As the title of the discussion was "DVD covers of Look Around You", the bot interpreted it as the relevant discussions for the files were not present on the log page. I updated it on the article special:diff/1270246286 (for both the files). —usernamekiran (talk) 16:56, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
Not just one article: here and there. George Ho (talk) 23:53, 18 January 2025 (UTC)

Question from Xyz464

Hello,

Regarding the Western Syria clashes page, I am in favor of changing the title to something like "Assad loyalist insurgency in Syria" sooner rather than lather. There have already been numerous pro-former-government actions including clashes, assasinations etc.(a lot of which not yet described on that page), which have occurred outside of "Western Syria", and unfortunately there is no other "pro-government" insurgency page which could be used to document these events. With the number of these events increasing by each day, the title of the page is becoming more obsolete.

Instead of having to create an "insurgency/clashes" page for every theatre, this page could be renamed/utilized as a collection of these events under a single "insurgency/clashes" page, since i.e. the pro-government Syrian Popular Resistance is already claiming to be behind events that took place in Damascus, Deir Ez-Zor and others that aren't in Western Syria.

Thank you in advance! Xyz464 (talk) 17:44, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

@MrBeePublic: Hello. If you go to any one of these two pages, on the top corner on right hand side, you would be able to see a foreign language symbol, and "A", with a number, and then "languages" (in this case: "(symbol) A 15 languages"). If you click on that, you would get a drop-down menu, and currently linked pages. From that drop-down menu, at the bottom, if you click on "add languages", you would get options "edit interlanguage links", and "translate this page". After clicking on edit links option, you will be taken to wikidata. There, on the top right corner, you will see "wikipedia entries", click edit on it, and you will have to input two terms: language code (tr), and and tr article Kanban_(geliştirme). That will do it. If you have any difficulties, let me know, or I can do it for you. —usernamekiran (talk) 16:28, 24 January 2025 (UTC)

@Jay8g and Michael Bednarek: I have fixed the issues. There were not many articles affected, and all have been repaired. In short, the issue was not with bot, but the way websites were providing the data to the bot. Even though the issues have been fixed, I want to test it thoroughly before running it on mainspace again, but it might take some time as I will be out of town for a few days. Thank you very much for being civil/polite, generally when some bot (either mine, or other) does something wrong, I have seen editors being rude/hostile towards bot-operators. —usernamekiran (talk) 17:16, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
There are no changes recorded at https://github.com/usernamekiran/KiranBOT/blob/main/enwiki/amp/amp_01.py since 18 November 2024, so I don't understand how you fixed the issues. Further, reading the source code at github, the observance of {{bots}} seems faulty (see my earlier remark at #Rationale? which you didn't respond to). -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 00:55, 29 January 2025 (UTC)

Question from Bongithemba (09:42, 17 February 2025)

Hi, I've been trying to figure out how to change the last name on a person's Wikipedia who was previously married and has reverted to their maiden name.

Thanks in advance. --Bongithemba (talk) 09:42, 17 February 2025 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) @Usernamekiran: Do you have any reliable sources to support this change? If you do, please share the article's name and source, and I'll be happy to help you with it. – DreamRimmer (talk) 10:41, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
@Bongithemba: Hello. On Wikipedia, most of the information needs to verifiable reliable sources, especially in the case of biographies of people, DreamRimmer said above. —usernamekiran (talk) 12:22, 17 February 2025 (UTC)

KiranBOT edits the URL https://amp.acdh.oeaw.ac.at/ even though "amp" is not a tracking parameter but short for "Auden Musulin Papers". Can you put the URL on a whitelist? Mepherl (talk) 11:03, 17 February 2025 (UTC)

@Mepherl: Hi. I added it to the whitelist. but which page was it? —usernamekiran (talk) 12:03, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
I found it on W. H. Auden —usernamekiran (talk) 12:09, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
Thank you! I noticed it on [1] – but I suppose it is quoted regularly on several sites Mepherl (talk) 12:26, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
@Mepherl: oh, you meant on Deutsch. I see you've already fixed it. Yes, it highly possible it is used on multiple sites. But the whitelist is common, so it should not happen again. See you around :-) —usernamekiran (talk) 12:29, 17 February 2025 (UTC)

Looks like the KiranBOT thinks http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Article.aspx?x=dnd/dramp/20100806 (also a dead link, so see archived link) is an AMP tracking link (see this edit by the bot). This just appears to be how Wizards of the Coast use to format links & isn't an AMP. Not sure if this error has appeared elsewhere (Editions of Dungeons & Dragons is on my watchlist). Sariel Xilo (talk) 00:17, 21 February 2025 (UTC)

The bot reverted my correction; I reverted the bot again & added {{bots|deny=KiranBOT}} to the ref which will hopefully work as a stopgap but I've never run into an issue like this with a bot. Sariel Xilo (talk) 02:11, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
@Sariel Xilo: Hi. I checked, the original URL doesn't give out 404, or something similar response, but it redirects, so the bot updated it. I am currently on mobile. I will add the URL in white-list soon. —usernamekiran (talk) 08:06, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
Back in Sept 2024, I put in a request at Wikipedia:Link rot/URL change requests because older sections on D&D 5E on the Wizards of the Coast website were turned into redirects. Wizards has done this a couple of times (for example, the above link was 2010 article from the D&D 4E era) so Link Rot has processed a few requests over the years to mark these sources as dead & add archive links. So I'm not sure why it matters that the original source link is a Soft-404 (ie. redirect) instead of a Hard-404 since Link Rot has already marked it dead with an archive link. If the source is marked dead, why would the bot need to update it (especially if it seems it can't determine a Soft-404 has occurred)? Sariel Xilo (talk) 08:47, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
@Sariel Xilo: Hi. While talking about this particular task, there are lots of amp URLs that are non-functional but their canonical counterparts work. In some cases, amp URLs redirect automatically to the canonical URL. Thats why the bot tried to find canonical URL even if the amp is non operational. In rare case like our current one, the changes can be reverted, and the URL can be added to the white-list. Thank you for pointing out the error, the calm/civil tone is appreciated a lot. —usernamekiran (talk) 16:09, 21 February 2025 (UTC)

@Usernamekiran: I've run into another error where the bot has incorrectly decided something is a AMP link. The two main issues are:

  1. Any Wizards of the Coast website link in this format: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Article.aspx?x=dnd/dramp is not an AMP link; dramp was some internal categorization they used way before the existence of AMP links. I flagged my concern above that this was a standard format they once used so the bot needs to whitelist any link in this format and you need fix any other errors of this type in the larger Category:Dungeons & Dragons.
  2. The bot is adding redirects in a Soft 404 situation; even if the bot can find a redirect, if a source is marked is dead & has an archive link, it probably shouldn't change that original source link. Is AMP tracking an actual concern if the source has been marked dead? Is this something you should work with the link rot project on?

Please let me know if you have any questions. I'm going to restore the source & try to block the bot from editing this single case but I don't have entire D&D category in my watchlist to know if other articles have the same bot error. Sariel Xilo (talk) 17:30, 5 March 2025 (UTC)

@Sariel Xilo: Hi. I'm currently on mobile. Even if the bot makes changes to other articles, it will be easy to find them using the insource search. When I come online from computer, I will add the URL to whitelist, rever changed, and think about your suggestions. —usernamekiran (talk) 20:19, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
@Sariel Xilo: Hi. Sorry for the delayed reply. I fixed the issue yesterday. I removed the deny template. Just one thing, these templates should go at the top of the pages. Thanks for your help/co-operation. —usernamekiran (talk) 07:58, 7 March 2025 (UTC)

Hi, so I have it set on my talk page that KiranBOT, which you operate/own, won't notify me of my teahouse questions getting archived, but the bot did exactly that today. Might wanna look into that to see if it is glitching or something. Just thought I should let you know seeing as you operation/own the bot. Have a nice day. Question from Xyz464 (10:02, 4 March 2025)

Hello,

I would like to restart the move discussion about the Western Syria clashes (December 2024–present) article. Since the fall of Assad, clashes between Assad loyalists and HTS/New security forces and related assassinations haven't been confined to the areas defined as "Western Syria", namely Latakia, Tartus, Western Homs and Hama.

There have been numerous incidents, including clashes in other areas such as Rif Dimashq, Deir Ez-Zor etc. As of now, there are no other articles on Wikipedia where these events are/can be documented and the number of these events(both inside and outside Western Syria) are increasing every day. Thus, the scope of this article is insufficient to document these events and as time goes by and when the move eventually happens, the retroactive documentation overhead will be quite big.

[4]https://x.com/Charles_Lister/status/1897004349114683720

Thus, I think that the move discussion should be reopened. Xyz464 (talk) 21:11, 4 March 2025 (UTC)

@Xyz464: Hello. The move discussion was closed properly, so it wouldn't be "reopened". The correct option is to start a new discussion. You will find following link helpful to start the discussion: Wikipedia:Requested moves#Requesting a single page move. Regards, —usernamekiran (talk) 10:45, 6 March 2025 (UTC)

Question from Nosrep Namuh (19:37, 16 March 2025)

Hello, Ixtal, sorry to disturb, but what do the digits mean when I make an edit? Some numbers appear which are added in green and subtracted in red and I understand that they're some sort of points but what purpose do they have and why are they assigned? --Nosrep Namuh (talk) 19:37, 16 March 2025 (UTC)

I'm not Ixtal, but I just stumbled onto your question. The numbers indicate how many characters were added/subtracted with each edit. So if your edit makes the article 58 characters longer than it was before, you'll see a green +58. If your edit makes the article 19 characters shorter than before, you'll see a red -19. It's not a score, just a character count. Joyous! Noise! 20:04, 16 March 2025 (UTC)

Question from Pulliamgj (21:36, 18 March 2025)

I know there is an error in the article KYQQ--it did not go on the air in November of 1979. I was the program director for most of the year or so that the station was under construction, from August 1979 until May of 1980. I resigned and left after a falling out with Gary and Ann Violet, and when I left, the station--KBUZ at the time--was not on the air. So, I'd guess it first went on the air in November of 1980, but I am not sure about that. --Pulliamgj (talk) 21:36, 18 March 2025 (UTC)

Query regarding your Burari Deaths article from 2018

Hello Kiran! This is a query regarding your mention of Ranveer, the ostensible second son of Lalit and Tina. As per our research, including the various documentaries, news reports, family photos and information from multiple other sites, we are not able to find any trace of a second son of Lalit and Tina. We have even contacted an official of House of Stray Animals (HSA), Noida to find any plausible information of the surviving pet dog of the family, Tommy.

Thus, we have edited the article removing Ranveer (aged 14 years) from the family members.

Here's the link to the article: Burari deaths

Here's the link to the edit history: Special:Contributions/2409:40E2:1C:FB31:655A:C0E9:EBA7:89ED

We just want to know why you added a 12th family member to the Chundawat/Bhatia family. Where did you find information regarding a second son of Lalit and if you can please share the source.

We have also added a link to a screenshot of the original article: https://media-hosting.imagekit.io//d531f47dc9924483/Screenshot%20(15).png?Expires=1837323838&Key-Pair-Id=K2ZIVPTIP2VGHC&Signature=vHhFdosM3XXZkJPb2UlomohD0QMdsR4T9egroppfK9YtPoL7I3R6Up3fcltZmp9pLlem1QS4Ya1E6BOywqcFa7~ZhXY~-fKNdxS65ouOi1Yq0UGIO4pQKsO1-ZViQjcSN23GJOuihLlsgAhubjCTEm9AIRGjgs5PAGKZByGCCVss4LIB-kFNIATsIcxqcHxrXiMLV5JVJyNXgqs8-Qr8Pur9rqoHZmsW0Mz7y-O8OoRtNRMBH2J9EhzIQh8XPQFPzSe22dSdGYBA-DOVupP~xjcEyqrNjpTM5leScnsN-B5BhYPWYBFepGbZBjYl1LDm~TYip8FSNEGCSNOCW8uLQg__

Include article with 500+ refs

Hi Kiran, I was browsing through User:KiranBOT/MOSTREFS and noticed that the Cher article isn't listed, even though it has over 500 unique references. I'm curious—how does the bot determine which articles to include on the list? Cherfc (talk) 15:12, 27 March 2025 (UTC)

@Cherfc: Hello. According to User:KiranBOT/MOSTREFS/log, the bot had started on 13 January 2025, and it finished processing on 10 February (I have made it very slow to avoid consuming resources). On 2 February, the Cher page had 464 unique references special:permalink/1273387528. Let me know if you have any doubts. Regards, —usernamekiran (talk) 09:34, 28 March 2025 (UTC)

Question from Festustruth (17:11, 28 March 2025)

How do I do it to be like you Are you paid to edit How can I publish information on Wikipedia How can I add my photos Am a poet how can I publish my poems, songs, movies, quotes here on Wikipedia --Festustruth (talk) 17:11, 28 March 2025 (UTC)

@Festustruth: Hello. I have posted some information regarding how to edit Wikipedia. Regarding your other questions: no, I am not paid to edit. Almost no one is paid to edit Wikipedia. If you own the copyrights to the photos, you should upload them to Wikimedia commons. If you do not know about the copyrights law, then in short, you should only upload the photos that you have captured/taken with by yourself. Similarly, you should not be uploading anything else unless you get a lot more editing experience. Let me know if you have any questions/doubts.
