[edit]You probably know what is written: "The following notable deaths occurred in 2026". Her death is notable, and is written about in numerous outlets, including Guardian, Euronews, People. BilboBeggins (talk) 19:07, 2 January 2026 (UTC)
- Okay but that's largely stemming from her being the daughter of a famous actor. She herself is not unfortunately. Her five credits are tiny appearances that had no character names aside from "Cheerleader", "Woman", etc. That's not a notable acting career. And notability is not inherited so her being an actor's daughter doesn't cut mustard either. Rusted AutoParts 19:22, 2 January 2026 (UTC)
- The death is notable, nevertheless. BilboBeggins (talk) 22:21, 3 January 2026 (UTC)

Sources for exact dates of death
[edit]Hi @Rusted AutoParts:, if you're aware of sources giving exact dates of death, can you please either replace the existing one on the Deaths in 2026 page, or even better source it on the subject's page. It's of no use to anyone to simply scribe it in the edit history for the page. Thank you. Jkaharper (talk) 19:51, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
- Certain sources I err on the side of caution swapping in as in part to not knowing if they're regionblocked or not, seeing years at this point of Refsworldlee peeling them back out as a result if they are. Rusted AutoParts 19:57, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
Hi Rusted AutoParts, I don’t think this was intentional, but you’re removing the formatting in the year column, which was done in line with what’s mentioned in Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Tables#Multi-column sortable standard. You have also removed the source for Anaconda, which was added as requested during the DYK process. So, I have partially reverted your edits to retain the formatting and sourcing discussed above. Is there a rule that social media posts can't be cited as a source for death?
[edit]In your recent edit on Deaths in 2026 you said "ANY social media posts are prohibited from use as a source." Can you please cite the section of the Wikipedia rules where it says that? I said as much in my recent edit on that page ("Based on what? WP:BLPSPS says social media posts can be cited (within reason), and WP:BDP doesn't say anything about social media directly. If you are going to make that claim, please cite the appropriate Wikipedia rules, as WP:ELPEREN (cited in the hidden text) does not even talk about Bluesky."). I'm just trying to learn here. I don't want an edit war or anything (so if you reverse my recent edit, I will not object), but making claims like you did without citing rules just seemed suspect to me. Thanks. Historyday01 (talk) 18:14, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- You're claiming you don't want an edit war, but you reverted my edit regardless? The same issues raised about Facebook and Twitter/X apply to BlueSky. It is a self published source, and on top of that the account is not verified. Rusted AutoParts 18:23, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- Okay. I reverted it to make a point about your edit, nothing more, nothing less. I would hope that the WP:ELPEREN be updated to include Bluesky, as it is becomng more and more prominent. As for finding a better source... I'm working on trying to find that. I have kept it in her Wikipedia article, but only cited it once and added the tag "better source needed". On my talk page, I had someone say the WP:ABOUTSELF is an exception to using self-published sources, which would allow a self-published social media message to be cited. So Deaths in 2026 has stricter standards than that? Historyday01 (talk) 18:34, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- We host a thread on the talk page where deaths published via social media can be added until a media source is available. Rusted AutoParts 18:25, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- I'll add her entry there. I'll just repeat what I said on my talk page: "Considering how prominent she was in the community of librarians, I imagine that someone else will write a tribute/obituary in the coming days." Historyday01 (talk) 18:35, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for swapping out for the American Songwriter source, which I was in the process of doing when you intervened. "Saving Country Music" is listed as unreliable on WP:A/S but the site's size has led some to use it as a source anyway. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 18:26, 9 February 2026 (UTC)

Seeking support for standardizing the use of posters instead of title cards for miniseries articles
[edit]I’m reaching out to get your thoughts on a proposal I’ve made regarding the visual standards for miniseries and limited series articles. Currently, MOS:TVIMAGE allows for either a title card or a promotional poster, but common practice has leaned toward title cards by default. This has led to many miniseries articles only using title cards instead of posters.
I am proposing we standardize the use of promotional posters for miniseries articles. The logic is two-fold:
- Unlike ongoing series, miniseries have no "Season" articles to house their posters. The poster is the only asset that identifies the cast, setting, and genre at a glance—context a text-based title card lacks.
- By standardizing this for miniseries, we remove the need for future "Title Card vs. Poster" discussions like this one.
I’m trying to build consensus to make the guidelines more definitive so editors don't have to keep re-litigating this for other miniseries. If you're interested in supporting this cause, voice out your opinions here. TheVoicelessWriter (talk) 05:43, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
