Does anyone see any sources for this game? Aside from what I found on Microforum's website I'm not seeing anything else and the two reviews aren't reliable. (I've checked the Internet Archive as well) Timur9008 (talk) 04:42, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It's also a Coin945 article and he had a history of iffy pages, so I'm going to say it's likely non-notable and you should AfD it. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 06:16, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps a redirect to Microforum International (the game's publisher)? I don't do AFDs
I didn't even notice it's a Coin945 page. Timur9008 (talk) 06:26, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
A WP:BLAR should also be acceptable, yes. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 06:34, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I went ahead and redirected it. Timur9008 (talk) 06:37, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Stickerb[r]ush Symphony and Internet checkpoint: opinions needed

[edit]

Hi, I have noticed recent attempts by multiple editors to cover the above topics. There was an attempt to un-redirect the article Stickerbush Symphony (version here) earlier this year. And more recently, there is a new article Internet checkpoint, first as a draft then undrafted by the author himself. The new article seems properly sourced but I do find the sources somewhat non-conventional. I would appreciate any feedback on this new article and the new attempt. MilkyDefer 13:58, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

As a side note, during the un-redirect attempt, a redict Internet Checkpoint (note the different capitalisation) was created to point to the "Stickerbush Symphony" article. When the "Stickerbush Symphony" article was reverted back to a redirect, the "Internet Checkpoint" redirect now points to DKC2 article as a result of double-redirect fixing. Should the new "Internet checkpoint" article be accepted, the redirect would need to be adjusted accordingly. MilkyDefer 14:09, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I retargeted the redirect. Either the target article will exist or both will not; there's no need for the redirect otherwise. Axem Titanium (talk) 19:38, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Love the cover art for Majo-tachi no Nemuri, even if its really trying to channel the same vibe of Kamaitachi no Yoru. So many of VN games for the SNES really wanted to look like the Chunsoft games that its highly amusing to me. Andrzejbanas (talk) 15:30, 27 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New page: Yellow paint debate

[edit]

Hello! I'm at the end of my editing time today, but I created a page for the yellow paint debate in video games, and I invite all of you to look it over and amend it as you see fit. I'll return to itself myself tomorrow. Moonreach (talk) 19:24, 29 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Without commenting on the viability of the subject, I question whether framing it this way is the best way to do it. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 19:27, 29 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New record?

[edit]

Is 137 categories a new record for a video game article? See Europa Universalis IV. Mika1h (talk) 22:51, 29 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Those Cultural Depiction categories are not appropriate. That's not really a defining category just because the game includes those leaders. Masem (t) 22:55, 29 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, it has to actually be defining; i.e. the main subject of the game. I WP:BOLDly removed them. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 04:15, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Arcade video game and List of highest-grossing arcade games

[edit]

List of highest-grossing arcade games, [[1]] was created by User:Jagged 85 back in 2012. [2]

Arcade video game was also edited by Jagged85.

I propose we remove that section entirely given its been unchecked for more than 13 years now.

Pinging User:Indrian, User:Sergecross73, User:Masem, User:Zxcvbnm

Any comments would be great. Timur9008 (talk) 05:58, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to be sourced and a spot check suggests those are valid sources, so unless we know that the sources don't support the data, I'm not seeing a reason to remove just because of that. Masem (t) 12:13, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Can we put the Jagged 85 cleanup template then? Until someone checks everything there. Timur9008 (talk) 12:31, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Devil May Cry (video game) being put up for FAR

[edit]

I have nominated Devil May Cry (video game) for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets the featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Delist" in regards to the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. ZKevinTheCat (talk) 07:02, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Since I'm not too experienced with Virtua Fighter but believed I could find notable information, I tried making a draft for the protagonist Akira Yuki here. If anybody can help me to make it an article, I would appreciate it. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 04:37, 1 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I feel like a lot of the sourcing is trying to do heavy lifting with very little in the reception section. A good deal focuses on his gameplay, which is isolated more to the VF series unless you can get it examined in a wider scope, for example.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 07:17, 1 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I revised it after talking with Cukie and you in discord. Now it's divided in three paragraphs: 1. Gameplay 2. Designs 3. Itagaki+DOA+anime Tintor2 (talk) 00:27, 2 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I still think it falls short. I'd suggest waiting until there's more stronger sources to justify splitting it. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 01:51, 2 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Forgot about the sources you found. There wasa general review, Honest Gamers reviewing a strange CGI video focused on Akira and another journalist comparing Akira to a certain Tekken character who uses the same fighting style.Tintor2 (talk) 13:50, 2 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Generalizing numerical ranking limit

[edit]

This question is related to the best-selling lists related to video games. How much limit is good enough, from like top 10–50? My observation is that 10 is noticeably short, but it is ideal among sources like Nintendo [3] Circana [4] IGN [5] GameSpot [6]. 20 is okay-ish and I have no major problem with that. 30 is my personal choice and I consider it to be balanced. 40, 50, and other higher amounts seem too long. What should we generally go with? Kazama16 (talk) 09:19, 1 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I generally prefer 50 for ranked lists. Not too short, not too long. 20 is a fine alternative too, but it should be reserved for really dense information, like the table at List of highest-grossing films § Highest-grossing franchises and film series.
I recently started cleaning up List of best-selling video game franchises and it is absurdly long at 130 entries (and growing, since there isn't a limit). The inclusion of summaries for each franchise makes it even more ridiculous. Though, I just looked at List of best-selling PC games for the first time and that is even worse, at 244 entries. Both of these lists are just too much. Prefall 08:43, 2 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The best-selling franchises page really needs a good looking-at, because I believe there is a ton of OR going into that to try to decide what are franchise and what game belong in that franchise, then adding up from multiple different sources. We really should only be including when we have a source that coverage the franchise as a whole, but I do suspect that means stuff like Mario will not be on the list becaue I've never seen a single number covering the whole franchise, making that more of a problem.
But definitely yes, far too many entries. These lists should aim for around maybe 50 entries give or take, and thus select a reasonable line drawn for that purpose. Masem (t) 13:12, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Limiting sources to those that explicitly say "X franchise has sold X copies" would be great, and would certainly make maintaining that article much easier. Mario being excluded would be a bit of an issue though... Prefall 22:22, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
