Discussion over the state of the Modern Age of Comic Books article
[edit]I've started a discussion in the talk page of the Modern Age of Comic Books article; the talk page is here. I believe that the state of the article is bad, overall. The main issue is that the article seems to be an example of Wikipedia imposing periodization on the history of American comics, rather than going by the definition(s) given by high-quality and reliable sources. I believe that mosst of the article needs to be deleted, and that high-quality, reliable sources need to be found; see how exactly they separate the ages of comics after the Bronze Age - it's possible that there's actually two or more ages, rather than just "Modern Age" - and make necessary adjustments based on that. This could include reorganizing the Modern Age as actually starting in the 21st century, and potentially creating a new article for the 1990s; whether that era is called the Chrome, Copper, or Dark Age. Discussion about WikiProject banner templates
[edit]For WikiProjects that participate in rating articles, the banners for talk pages usually say something like:
- "This article has been rated as Low-importance on the importance scale."
There is a proposal to change the default wording on the banners to say "priority" instead of "importance". This could affect the template for your group. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Council#Proposal to update wording on WikiProject banners. A reliable source worth knowing about
[edit]The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction is steadily publishing articles about SF-themed comics, like its newest https://sf-encyclopedia.com/entry/blue_beetle entry (see Blue Beetle (comic book)). See https://sf-encyclopedia.com/category/comics . New entries appear almost weekly (seems there's an active contributor working on that). I do not have time and will to use this or even add them as sources, but hopefully someone here will find this useful. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:44, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
