Wikipedia:Requests for page protection
Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
---|---|---|
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:ProtectedPages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – IP editors ignoring and undoing AfD results for a redirect at this location. Geraldo Perez (talk) 07:37, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
User(s) blocked. Materialscientist (talk) 08:04, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
- IPv4 continues recreating article at this redirect. Should still protect from creation by IPs Geraldo Perez (talk) 08:23, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
User(s) blocked: 1.120.217.65 (talk · contribs) blocked by Materialscientist. Favonian (talk) 10:18, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry. Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 08:06, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
User(s) blocked: Homieyuu (talk · contribs) blocked by Dbeef. No other recent sock activity on this article. Favonian (talk) 10:27, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Disruptive editing by both logged in users and IPs. RaschenTechner (talk) 09:19, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Looks like the disruptive user finally got the message. Favonian (talk) 10:32, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: TheDeviantPro and myself are the target of abuse by an Italian (and occasionally Portuguese) IP user, previously under the username MySuperBelt85 (talk · contribs), back in 2017. That is some long-term abuse! We've been called "d0rky" and have been accused of watching pr0ns all day. The mere audacity! Infantile stupidity aside, it's best the IP user would knock it off. I suggested TheDeviantPro having their talk page semi edit protected is still an option, which they agreed to. As a courtesy, I'm making the request. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 11:39, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
- Whoops, I meant to go for indefinite, seeing the IP user has stated 'bans & blocks won't stop me' and this has been going on since 2017. Also, TheDeviantPro, I forgot to tag you here. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 11:41, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – IP user repeatedly removing sourced information, adding their PoV, and edit warring. They also keep removing Islam and discussed map (§ Map Proposal #2) from the infobox without any discussion or explanation. Koshuri (グ) 11:40, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
- Also removed discussion about the map from talk page [1]. Koshuri (グ) 11:44, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Continued disruption as soon as previous protection expired. Mellk (talk) 13:32, 28 June 2025 (UTC)

Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Continued disruption as soon as previous protection expired. Mellk (talk) 13:36, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
- Alternatively is it possible to block 46.96.64.0/20 instead (and maybe 88.155.49.0/24 and/or 88.155.27.0/24)? Mellk (talk) 13:39, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. Mellk (talk) 13:52, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary Semi-protection: - IP vandalism.BabbaQ (talk) 13:57, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – IPs removing sourced content pertaining to language classification. Likely has to do with recent language based jingioism [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]. Also note POV/personal analysis here. Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:59, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
Current requests for reduction in protection level
Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Reason: The movie was already released and there is no reason to have it protected until December of this year, that is too much. 2800:300:6F11:D8B0:842A:8F8:61F8:39B1 (talk) 07:42, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
Not unprotected – Please use an edit request to request specific changes to be made to the protected page. Talk:Snow White (2025 film) is not protected. Favonian (talk) 11:04, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
Current requests for edits to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
The Israeli casaulties have changed over the night with new Iranian strikes. I want to change the Current Casaulties from 24 Killed to 53, i have the sources needed. And to change the 2,345 injured to 2,585 injured for which i also have sources. Pkk123477 (talk) 18:53, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
On hold: Hello, Pkk123477. Your edit request has been restored here as we need further input on this, as initially requested by Behappyyar. Would you be willing to post the sources that you have so that they can be reviewed and used to update the article? --Super Goku V (talk) 21:09, 22 June 2025 (UTC)
Please correct the Iranian civilian casualties in paragraph three. It was recently changed without reason from 200 to 600. The sources currently listed actually say 200 but this is out off date. HRANA's latest figure is actually over 400. The source is presently used in the infobox for their own estimate of 1,054 total deaths. The Iranian government hasn't released updated figures so that should be removed until they have an estimate. I suggest adding the sentence:
"According to the anti-government Human Rights Activists in Iran News Agency, over 1,000 Iranians were killed including at least 400 civilians."
