Article fails WP:BIO, current sources are a list of Academy Award nominations and a very brief obituary. Searching finds very little with coverage of the award nomination limited to the name appearing in articles listing all nominees. For example this list article. A redirect to Das Boot (film), where he is mentioned in the Accolades section, is an alternative to deletion. Gab4gab (talk) 18:19, 24 July 2023 (UTC)

- Redirect to Das Boot (film)#Accolades. Pyke meets WP:ANYBIO; you need to either win a big award or get multiple nominations. For Das Boot, he won the German Film Award (top German film award) and the Motion Picture Sound Editors' Golden Reel Award in addition to his Oscar nomination. Das Boot set the standard for sound editing for submarine movies, a genre where the soundscape dominates.[1]
- The German article has more information: de:Trevor Pyke. Unfortunately, despite Pyke's notability, neither the English nor the German articles have information about his life and career that doesn't come from IMDb, an unreliable source (WP:IMDB), or his terse 2-sentence paid obituary. I found no good refs except some tiny little bits.[2] Hence the redirect; we just don't have enough to build an article with.

- The Koldau article was interesting and while it never mentioned Pyke it is some coverage of his work that is helpful to notability. It would be helpful to have a source for the two awards mentioned. Gab4gab (talk) 15:17, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Gab4gab, the awards come from Das Boot (film)#Accolades. And, yes, I'm a submarine movie aficionado, so I very much enjoyed that Koldau article, too.

- By the way, I'm amazed Das Boot didn't win Oscars for its sound and score -- they really set the tone for a great film (as Koldau noted).

- Keep
and tag for improvementor redirect per reasons above - if it is redirected then someone can hopefully improve this page in the future.DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 09:55, 25 July 2023 (UTC) - Keep. Clearly does meet WP:ANYBIO #1. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:13, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Necrothesp, I'd love to keep the article but what do we use as WP:RS to build it?

- It's a WP:STUB. Nothing wrong with them. -- Necrothesp (talk) 16:22, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
- I agree. If it can be expanded and further sourced that would be amazing, obviously, but if not it still meets notability standards and should stay. DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 21:46, 26 July 2023 (UTC)

- Redirect to Das Boot (film)#Accolades as we don't have enough sourcing to meet GNG. Although he does appear to meet the first section of WP:ANYBIO, the sourcing just isn't there for a good article. We can redirect for now and restore/expand the article if and when sources are found. --MarchOfTheGreyhounds (talk) 14:33, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
- Redirect to Das Boot (film)#Accolades per the above as an ATD. CycloneYoris talk! 17:59, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
