The result was Delete. The "Keep" arguments are not based on Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. --MelanieN (talk) 00:17, 21 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Fails Wikipedia:Notability (people). No in-depth coverage in reliable sources. Stuartyeates (talk) 20:46, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Per nom, all the keep votes seem to be here through a sort of canvassing off-site and should be aware that it is not the number of votes that determine the outcome but the strength of the arguments based on Wikipedia policies. By this continued pile on without valid arguments besides I like him you only make everything more suspect. If you can provide reliable sources to help indicate his notability then do so otherwise you are not helping the case here. McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 23:20, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Minor and local sources. Not at all encyclopedic. LaMona (talk) 01:03, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Fails SIGCOV. Insufficient coverage in multiple sources independent of the subject. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 03:24, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Not widely known here in Dunedin - known to a section of the University's student population, but that is hardly enough to justify an article. "lync aronson" -wikipedia -facebook returns a massive 7 ghits (by way of comparison, a similar search for my name returns 23000 ghits, and I also appear every now and again on nationwide television. I doubt I'd be worthy of an article). I'm also somewhat concerned by the number of accounts which have been created simply to join in this AfD discussion. I would advise those new wikipedians to look at WP:BIO, which will show clearly how far below notability this subject falls. In years to come, he may become famous enough for an article, but he certainly isn't yet. Grutness...wha? 06:30, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete I realise when you see the same people on Geroge Street everyday it can appear that everyone in Dunedin is a celebrity, but this guy is not even slightly notable. -- haminoon (talk) 10:06, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete I know of this guy only because i'm from Dunedin, if you were to ask someone in Auckland who he is they wouldn't have a single clue!Drawdiggin101 (talk) 17:06, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete those suggesting keep have no credible arguments - article fails notability requirement. NealeFamily (talk) 03:21, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. No substantial independent coverage. As an article for an academic, fails WP:ACADEMIC. As an article for an aspiring politician... being an unsuccessful candidate for a position on a student union is about, or below, the level of being an unsuccessful candidate for a position on a city council: a level at which even successful candidates are generally not notable enough for a Wikipedia article.
