Per WP:NOTNEWS/WP:TOOSOON, a little waiting to see whether this topic has a long-term significance would be preferable. --cheesewhisk3rs ≽^•⩊•^≼ ∫ (pester) 23:01, 23 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Draftify, per WP:TOOSOON. However, if the fire is extinguished and has not spread or caused any more damage by the time of this AfD closure, delete. Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) 17:36, 24 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
But Hurricane Wind and Fire, the fire was covered by multiple news outlets in the Los Angeles area. KTLA, one of the stations that did, is also a superstation on directv and dish network (the latter only through a retired a la carte subscription), meaning people all around the US and Canada could have been watching.

In conclusion, it would be better to draftify and not delete. Reed102 (talk) 19:13, 25 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Change to draftify per above. Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) 01:21, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I also forgot to mention that KTLA is also available on various cable and satellite systems other than those above, but they are the most notable. Reed102 (talk) 01:54, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There's plenty of news coverage on the fire, but that's not the question. Do you know if Hurricane Wind and Fire had news coverage for more than a day or two? (Sorry, I don't know much about hurricanes.) (Your point is a good one by the way, but as I'm the nominator, I don't think it makes sense for me to change my vote, because this isn't articles for draftification.) --cheesewhisk3rs ≽^•⩊•^≼ ∫ (pester) 07:56, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I just looked, and all the coverage through news articles is just over one or two days the day after the fire started. There's this news article that could signify some notability, but other than that, it's just local news outlets. Other than the CalFire status updates, I don't know if there would be enough for a complete article. My vote is still draftify, but a little weaker. Sorry for the late response, I was on a five hour flight yesterday. Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) 17:48, 29 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
