Hey there Hurricane Wind and Fire, I saw you joined the WPTC, welcome! I wondered what aspect of tropical cyclones you're most interested in. Maybe it's newer storms, maybe it's climatology, maybe it's one of those lists of tropical cyclones in a certain area. I just wrote List of Queensland tropical cyclones, as an example of that last category. Just wanted to reach out, and see if you needed any help, or suggestions. Thanks for the message, Hurricanehink. I'm the most interested in the effects of newer storms. I'll be more involved with WPTC when the 2025 Atlantic and Pacific hurricane seasons begin. They're the basins I'm the most interested in. Before I created my account, I was studying the WPTC pages and I think I'm familiar with the guidelines. Again, thank you for the message. Nice, there are a lot important storms in that time period. Do you have any interest in helping with any of the lists? A lot of them need updating specifically for storms from the last 15 years. For example, List of Florida hurricanes (2000-present) has fallen behind when it comes to references, which is why it's no longer a featured list. Similar problems are in List_of_North_Carolina_hurricanes_(2000–present) with the newer storms. As of now, I think I'll mainly work on improving existing articles, especially expanding stub and start class articles. Updating lists does sound interesting, though. Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) 02:54, 21 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If you really wanted to improve a stub or start class article, there are a few options, like Ernesto from last year (which needs expansion for Caribbean and Bermuda impacts), similar story for Hurricane Earl (2022), Hurricane Grace needs more Mexican impacts, and Tropical Storm Gordon (2018) mostly needs to be better organized and fleshed out. Those are the only start articles in the Atlantic, but there are more articles outside of the Atlantic that need work. As for the lists, I just finished List of Australia tropical cyclones. It's a good way of listing every single storm for a given state. So it comes down to if you want to focus on a specific storm and work on a single article, or if you like the idea of a series of storms. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 03:56, 21 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

As of now, I might want to begin working on Ernesto and Earl. And I didn't realize until now that there aren't a lot of start class Atlantic basin articles. I love that you might be willing to work on something significant like Michael, but if you don't mind me suggesting, start with something easier, and work your way up. Earl, for example, only affected the northeast Caribbean, Bermuda, and Canada. Those areas are a bit easier to find information on than, say, Central America, Mexico, or Cuba, where you might have a language barrier. Same story with Ernesto.
