A barnstar for you
[edit]| The Original Barnstar | ||
| I came across Sophia Parnok today and found the article both fascinating and beautifully written. When I looked, I wasn't surprised to find your hand at work. Kudos. —Ganesha811 (talk) 01:06, 5 October 2025 (UTC) |
- Thank you Ganesha811. I enjoyed writing her very much because I learned so much doing it. Still one of my favorite articles. SusunW (talk) 12:11, 5 October 2025 (UTC)
You are missed
[edit]Wish you all the best.--GRuban (talk) 01:14, 5 October 2025 (UTC)
- I miss y'all too. Think often of you and @Ipigott, Rosiestep, Gerda Arendt, Gog the Mild, and Kusma: and so many others. I spent 10 years of my life on the project working every day. It saw me through cancer treatment and so many other life events. I keep thinking my life will settle and I will return, but since January, it has been a whirlwind of changes and I am beginning to recognize that perhaps, I need to let Wiki go for a while. My husband and I are both healthy, but 2 family members have serious health issues that require our support, my sister's husband died and she is moving in with us, we bought a house and are renovating it and preparing to move, we nursed one one of our cats through cancer and his passing. It's been a lot. Some days my head is in a good enough space to focus on writing, but I cannot find the time. Other days, I have the time, but my brain is exhausted. You understand. From time to time, I will touch base. Feel free to email me. In the future, we will see what unfolds. If I am not back, hope you all have a lovely holiday season. Life is always an amazing adventure and I am so very grateful that each of you have been part of mine. SusunW (talk) 12:23, 5 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thus do the great ones slip away; leaving us bereft, baffled and disproportionately diminished. We honour the time they shared with us as we lament their departure. Gog the Mild (talk) 16:05, 5 October 2025 (UTC)
- Good to hear from you Susun. I'm sorry you have been experiencing so many problems and wish you all the best for the future. As you probably know I now spend most of my time caring for my wife and therefore have very little time for editing. Perhaps one of these days you'll feel more settled. If so, you might be able to continue your unique contributions to Wikipedia, We've certainly all been missing you.--Ipigott (talk) 08:49, 6 October 2025 (UTC)
- You're in my thoughts, even if we don't exchange words. I think a lot about the various paths we take, walking through life, and I am very grateful that along the way, we have walked shoulder to shoulder, even in a foreign country, once upon a time. My life is so rich for it! Wishing you and your fam and your new home all the best. Do let me know if you get a new kitty. --Rosiestep (talk) 15:04, 6 October 2025 (UTC)

- Good to hear from you, and wishing you to stay on top of the multiple issues and have good times with your family. I will always connect you to women, so am happy to have a good story today, about a mezzo as a thinking person, DYK? (The nomination wasn't by me, which probably helped to a short review.) - Look at the video if you have a few minutes. I never saw her on stage, but (in 2022) the last Carmen production at the Bastille Opéra that she was in, - see music. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:34, 6 October 2025 (UTC)
- For cheers: Happy birthday, Margaret Medlyn! (I found the article - not by me - when searching for someone whose birthday is today.) - I took a cat pic, presented by Rosiestep today. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:11, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
Always good to hear from you even if you are not on your way back here. I currently have IRL work piling up over my ears, but I hope to have more time again in the future and maybe find another wonderful rabbit-hole to research with you, it was always a pleasure. —Kusma (talk) 16:37, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
- Best wishes, SusunW -- I hope life settles down soon for you and your family (you've more than earned a rest). Regards, Alanna the Brave (talk) 00:02, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
- Ten years ago, you were a god-send that helped me create many articles on female WPA muralists. As I remember you did most of the construction. I just added some decorations. You were a fabulous teacher and mentor. Buster Seven Talk (UTC) 18:26, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
