Daylight Savings Time

[edit]

Hi there. See the comment next to the time_zone_DST entry in the template documentation at Template:Infobox country: "Link to DST (Daylight Saving Time) used, otherwise leave empty". Leaving the field unassigned or omitting it when a place doesn't observe DST is intentional! Largoplazo (talk) 12:50, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Largoplazo,
I did not know that! I will go ahead and remove the DST not being observed lines on all my previous edits :) NightExplorer96 (talk) 17:59, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Wonderful, thank you! And thanks for your interest in improving Wikipedia. Largoplazo (talk) 20:09, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Relief maps

[edit]

Please don't change maps for places to relief maps without consensus! The current consensus (give me more time to find that discussion) is to use relief maps only for rivers, lakes, and such, not human places and jurisdictions (because borders and subdivisions are not or barely visible on the relief maps). Thanks. -- P 1 9 9   13:52, 20 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No problem :) NightExplorer96 (talk) 14:55, 20 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello P199. I was only adding relief to make the map look better and did not mean to make any errors. I am apparently still learning my way around :(
If I add anymore maps in the future it would be ideal to just have pushpin maps without relief? :) NightExplorer96 (talk) 00:34, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your contributions to WP. Yeah, it will take a while to learn all the policies, guidelines, and manuals of style. Therefore, it is best for new editors to first contribute by updating or adding to existing articles, instead of changing formatting across many articles, which usually need prior discussion and consensus. As for relief maps, they are used in general for physical geography like rivers, lakes, mountains, etc. One more thing about pushpin maps: it is usually enough to add national maps, not continental or world maps (which are too broad and no longer give proper context). Thanks again for your efforts to improve WP, and if you ever need any help, just ask on my talk page. -- P 1 9 9   14:17, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I see that you reverted my changes at Morro Bay, California, because you "see many other cities having those extra links & using relief on pushpin maps". Well, there are many editors that don't know or follow the standards and just make style changes as they please. That is why you see inconsistencies across articles, which I try to resolve. And you don't need to link captions in maps because those links are already in other prominent spots in the infobox and paragraphs, see MOS:REPEATLINK. Please restore my edit and remove relief maps from your other edits. Relief maps are not more reader friendly. Thanks. -- P 1 9 9   14:50, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ahhh haha, sounds good. Will revert the changes :) 2600:6C52:7DF0:1FB0:1C1C:95D0:EF99:B750 (talk) 14:51, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello, how are you? Learn about Wikiprojects on English Wikipedia, or have they started? Leave a message on my talk page! Thank you. Happy editing! (VVWiki8 (talk) 15:07, 20 January 2025 (UTC))[reply]

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page Morro Bay, California, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A bare URL error. References show this error when one of the URL-containing parameters cannot be paired with an associated title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 05:00, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

This was a mistake. I do apologize for it and appreciate you letting me know :)

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Tashkent, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Capital City. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 19:59, 16 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request

[edit]

Hello, NightExplorer96.

In the climate section of Yerevan, can you add this at the end of the sentence: « (along with the city of Meghri in the far south of Armenia) »? In the climate section of Meghri, Yerevan is mentioned, as well as sourced, for the highest ever recorded temperature in Armenia.

Yours sincerely, 78.174.55.43 (talk) 18:58, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, NightExplorer96.
I withdraw the request, because it has been done.
Yours sincerely, 78.174.55.43 (talk) 10:37, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:50, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

November 2025

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Bäherden when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 23:47, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

AST and EEST on Jordan and Syria and their respective capital cities

[edit]

I've reverted four of your edits regarding your change from AST to EEST, as none of them are geographically part of Europe. Keep in mind the two time zones are both +3 from UTC. Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 15:16, 31 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
