Cleopatra hieroglyphics (again...)

Hi Mr rnddude, I hope you're well. If you recall, you kindly converted Cleopatra's hieroglyphic name(s) to work inside the article's infobox. Alas, the context has changed again; since Cleopatra is now using {{Infobox pharaoh}}, the previous changes cannot be "shown" by the drop down section. If you have a second–could you possibly adjust the hieroglyphic code to match the infobox's parameters? The template documentation explains what these are. Aza24 (talk) 06:29, 16 June 2023 (UTC)

Aza24 - I've re-integrated the horus and nomen into the infobox. There are a few stylistic differences that are partially the cause of the infobox itself and partially the standard styling across other articles. The transliteration template I used previously appears incompatible with this infobox, so that's been removed. I modelled the entries in a similar fashion to that at Sobekneferu, though without using the special feminine prefixes (e.g. daughter of Ra rather than son of Ra). Let me know if there are any issues. Mr rnddude (talk) 08:06, 16 June 2023 (UTC)
Looks great! Thanks for your effort. Best – Aza24 (talk) 19:23, 16 June 2023 (UTC)

Query about IP blocks

ST47, whilst trying to edit today I've been receiving the message 'This IP address has been blocked from editing Wikipedia ... because it hides your IP address, much like a proxy or VPN'. I mean... my username also hides my IP address so I'm unclear as to why this would be an issue? I'm currently travelling, and while I was able to edit yesterday, I cannot today. What do? Mr rnddude (talk) 18:56, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

Pinging you because you're the admin that has blocked the IP range, just for clarity's sake. Mr rnddude (talk) 18:57, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

Gerda Arendt - I am, as ever, fashionably late. Sorry, I've been travelling in Europe and am spending very little time on Wikipedia. Thanks as always for the reminder. Hope you're well. Regards, Mr rnddude (talk) 20:48, 22 October 2023 (UTC)

Burebista

About the information I uploaded on the page, the information was from the teachers I had and some books I read, I can understand if you think the informations were not accurate, but I want to know the reason for the map to be changed Portasa Cristian (talk) 12:48, 15 March 2024 (UTC)

The map you changed was an old map created by me, the new map I made was more accurate, it was the same thing only few things on the map changed like rivers, some useless things removed and fixed some grammar from "Calatis" to "Callatis" Portasa Cristian (talk) 12:53, 15 March 2024 (UTC)
here is the link with the fixed map if you need it. https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?search=Dacian+kingdom&title=Special:MediaSearch&type=image Portasa Cristian (talk) 12:56, 15 March 2024 (UTC)
oops, I apologize for the wrong link, here is the link of the map : https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Dacian_Kingdom_under_Burebista_Remastered.png
sorry for the plenty of messages, I'm busy and I don't have time to write a long message Portasa Cristian (talk) 13:00, 15 March 2024 (UTC)
in this case I will change the map into the remastered one, I hope you won't mind since the map are almost indentical Portasa Cristian (talk) 13:27, 15 March 2024 (UTC)
And I will also add the map of the Dacians invasion of Taurisci and boii since it's essential to the map. and with that, this will be my last edit on the page, I won't add any further information, only the maps if it's needed, since im making lots of maps not only Dacians. Portasa Cristian (talk) 14:24, 15 March 2024 (UTC)
Simply put, claims made within the article need to be verifiably sourced from published reliable sources. Mr rnddude (talk) 00:59, 16 March 2024 (UTC)

Some asprin for you

Your head must be hurting from all the head-slapping it is receiving so I thought you might need this. There is a good case to deprecate infoboxes in contentious topic. Editors would then have to focus on the real issue of the body of the article. Cinderella157 (talk) 02:21, 25 October 2024 (UTC)

Cinderella157 – Thank you. It's visibility. The eye is drawn to the infobox, or, if that doesn't exist, the lede. That then informs editors to prioritise infobox > lede > article instead of the inverse. You see the same problem with how many editors handle news sources: quoting the headline instead of reading the article content. Mr rnddude (talk) 01:00, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
