Thank you!
[edit]Just leaving a message to say thank you for your comment on the thread "Unexplained blanking of encyclopedic content on the article "Ready '24" by two experienced users" at Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. It's extremely unfortunate that the discussion was archived right before you were able to give your two cents, but it is what it is. I genuinely mean it when I say that in an age of terrible reading comprehension and clique-y behaviour across the internet, it's so refreshing to see people actually read things with an open mind. 2A00:23C8:F11A:7801:E95C:2CE7:6036:F1B6 (talk) 16:21, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
- My reply to CoffeCrumbs consists of:
I can't be fucked dealing with editors that don't bother to go beyond skimming the surface. I may make an attempt at resolving the content component. Mr rnddude (talk) 18:53, 1 November 2025 (UTC)I agree that the IP is unfamiliar with Wikipedia's idiosyncratic definition of vandalism—has anyone linked to WP:NOTVAND or attempt to explain that term in Wikipedia's context?—but there's more here than just that.
It would have been ideal if Binksternet had been clearer in the initial edit summary
is understating it. The initial rollback (through Twinkle) had no summary and no follow-up; the second revert hand-waved at 'no original research'; and the first response simply accused the editor of misrepresentation of sources or just fabrication (without even glancing at the sources). This isn't merely not ideal. The use of rollback was questionable and the follow-up was incivil. That's not content, it's conduct. The rest of this is the result of the dog-piling of a frustrated editor. I have seen another edit elsewhere that gives me suspicion that this all stems from a separate dispute at another article. Mr rnddude (talk) 18:53, 1 November 2025 (UTC)- I appreciate it, man. At the end of the day, internet moderators are gonna do what internet moderators are gonna do. Just gotta remind myself that I started editing Wikipedia earlier this year to a) have fun and b) spread knowledge. I think I really lost my way these past couple days 2A00:23C8:F11A:7801:E95C:2CE7:6036:F1B6 (talk) 18:59, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
 - If you wanna have a laugh, take a look at the song's talk page. Another admin jumped in and suddenly realised that the sections I wrote (including a personnel section) were actually totally inappropriate for Wikipedia all along, and the reasons are paper-thin and clearly made up on the spot 2A00:23C8:F11A:7801:E95C:2CE7:6036:F1B6 (talk) 08:47, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
