Hello, DigiPreetham, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like this place and decide to stay.

Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
How do I create citations?
  1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References==
{{Reflist}}
What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
A WikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.

Non-free rationale for File:Lulu Mall Trivandrum.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Lulu Mall Trivandrum.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 18:42, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Lulu Mall Trivandrum.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Lulu Mall Trivandrum.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:30, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cricket statistics

[edit]

Re. Your edits to List of players who have scored 10,000 or more runs in Test cricket. In most circumstances, it is commonly accepted practice that cricket statistics should not be updated during a match if the figures are likely to change. Otherwise, errors and inconsistencies can arise, and the statistics may be misleading for readers. Wikipedia is not a live update service such as Cricinfo. Thanks. (Edwin of Northumbria (talk) 16:02, 29 January 2025 (UTC))[reply]

Ok I won’t repeat that again👍🏻👍🏻 DigiPreetham (talk) 13:47, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi @DigiPreetham! I'm Servite et contribuere. I recently reverted your updates to Usman Khawaja. In case you missed the message above from Edwin of Northumbria, I just want to give you a friendly reminder that in most circumstances, it is a commonly accepted practice that cricket statistics should not be updated during a match if the figures are likely to change. Otherwise, errors and inconsistencies can arise, and the statistics may be misleading for readers. Wikipedia is not a live update service such as Cricinfo. Thanks. [edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your edits to List of players who have scored 10,000 or more runs in One Day International cricket, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history, as well as helping prevent edit conflicts. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it.

The Show preview button is right next to the Publish changes button and below the edit summary field.

It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. Jessicapierce (talk) 23:32, 6 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Cricket statistics (again)

[edit]

You have been notified by myself and Servite et contribuere that cricket statistics should not be updated during a match where they may change before it ends. Other editors have reversed changes you have made but left notes in the relevant article history rather than leaving a message on this page. If you continue to ignore requests to follow conventions (which exist for a reason) then your actions may be construed as WP:VANDALISM and your account may be blocked. PLEASE give more consideration to your edits, and also follow the advice given by Jessicapierce. Thanks. (Edwin of Northumbria (talk) 13:27, 8 February 2025 (UTC))[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Toddy1. I noticed that you recently removed citations from Rohit Sharma without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.-- Toddy1 (talk) 11:02, 11 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account, you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary (or the default undo summary), and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! DMacks (talk) 13:23, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Bovineboy2008. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Aakasam Lo Oka Tara, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. BOVINEBOY2008 09:19, 17 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
