Tagging pages for speedy deletion
[edit]Hello, ClumsyOwlet,
Please just stop now. You are not experienced enough to know when different CSD criteria apply and you are not posting notifications on the User talk pages of article creators. Please stop before I need to revert all of your edits. Liz Read! Talk! 08:56, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- Ok, sorry. I'll remove them now. ClumsyOwlet (talk) 08:57, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Liz I removed all of the tags, is there something else I need to do? ClumsyOwlet (talk) 09:02, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- Well, if you eventually want to get back to do some patrolling, after you've been editing for more than a month, there's some things you should know. First, if you haven't started using Twinkle, get to know it. When you are setting up Twinkle, check your Twinkle Preferences and make sure a) Notify page creator box is checked and b) all of the boxes for the different CSD criteria are also checked off. Second, you have to not only read Criteria for Speedy Deletion but know and understand the different criteria, when they apply and to which namespaces they apply. For example, there is really no point patrolling Draft space unless you are looking for newly created drafts in case they are promotional/advertising or have BLP or copyright-violating content. But most drafts are abandoned and will be deleted after 6 months so there is no reason to delete them early unless they have problematic content.
- But most importantly, you just need to gain more editing experience before you start evaluating the work of other editors, especially long-time editors. First, you gain knowledge and then you can exercise your judgment on other editors' work.
- If you have questions about deletion tagging or editing on the project, please bring them to the Teahouse, there more experienced editors can offer you advice and support. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 00:39, 21 January 2024 (UTC)

Sock tagging
[edit]Hi ClumsyOwlet. I see you've been tagging lots of socks lately. I'm sure you're doing this with the best of intentions, but I want to ask that you please stop, since the task should generally be left to administrators and SPI clerks (as is pointed out in the template documentation). Thanks, --Blablubbs (talk) 14:28, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
- I'm curious why you are still doing this even after Blablubbs has asked you to stop? firefly ( t · c ) 17:38, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Firefly: That was 16 minutes before I received the message. ClumsyOwlet (talk) 17:40, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
- Sincere apologies, I see the timestamp of that edit as "15:11, 6 April 2024" and the timestamp of Blablubbs' signature as "14:28, 6 April 2024", but of course edit timestamps are transposed into my timezone whereas signatures are not. firefly ( t · c ) 17:46, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
- ClumsyOwlet, please stop with the sock tagging (whether it be adding or removing) altogether.-- Ponyobons mots 18:41, 6 April 2024 (UTC)

- Hello, ClumsyOwlet,
- How many times does this need to be told to you? Do not tag User talk pages for CSD G5 speedy deletion. User talk pages are not deleted unless there is objectionable content like copyright violations or BLP violations and all of these page were blank. With all of these warning messages, I don't know how to get across the message to you to just stay out of patrolling for sockpuppets and tagging pages for deletion. You still have a lot to learn here. If you continue making these mistakes, I expect you to receive a block next time as your editing can be seen as disruptive. Try to focus on improving articles, not policing Wikipedia. Liz Read! Talk! 02:40, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, ClumsyOwlet,
- Your work has improved a lot over the past months and I wish you would remove this now-unneeded warning from your User talk page. It makes me feel a little embarrassed now that I've given you a barnstar for your anti-vandalism work! It's not that the information is not correct but you have improved beyond these past warnings and they seem less relevant to your current status as an editor. Liz Read! Thank you for reverting all of those fake blocking notices from the LTA. There were quite a lot of them and your help is appreciated. Many thanks! Liz Read! Talk! 01:13, 3 September 2024 (UTC) |

Another LTA case about an asperger vandal I made
[edit]The section title says it all. I made Wikipedia:Long-term abuse/Bulut (WP:LTA/ASPE), and attempted to translate the important information to here since there was only jawiki's take on this vandal, not enwiki. Codename Noreste 🤔 Talk 04:59, 17 October 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

LTA IPs of zoo articles

You’ve regressed!

Non-LTA IPs of zoo articles and more!
[edit]We have an announcement. There will be no more LTA on every article (including zoos and more) ever again! Only non-LTA IPs will do the job. 174.197.68.143 (talk) 11:49, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
LTA IPs of zoo articles (CLOSED)

Whack! You've been whacked with a wet trout. Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly. |
You have been trouted for: YOUR REASON HERE DavidElsh04 (talk) 00:41, 24 February 2025 (UTC) because you’re a Democrat!

Clumsy, you have been trouted for LTA IPs of zoo articles because you are a BAD reverter. 2601:840:4300:EBC4:1C70:7FA0:AAD7:7A2E (talk) 14:29, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
