Botu Yadav, The edit has been reverted and the IP has been warned. Wikipedia admins consider blocking a user only after 3 warnings are put up on their talk page and they still continue their behaviour. I have EC protected the article due to editors like Smart Sherlock persistently insisting on poorly sourced additions of criminality. If that language is going in the opening sentence then it needs to be a lot better sourced than it is now. Black Kite (talk) 18:48, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your consideration, but it seems you misinterpreted my request. I was AGAINST the REMOVAL of his criminal background. Mukhtar Ansari's past of being a gangster isn't any speculation, it is a fact. He was serving a jail sentence at the time of his death, for the murder of a political rival, as proved in court. An entire section in the article, with 3 sources backing it, is devoted to his criminal life. Certain unverified accounts, created barely days ago, started vandalizing the article on 28/03/2024 (day of Mukhtar's death), by removing his criminality from the lead. Political bias was clearly shown, since the word "criminal" was replaced by "much loved politician".
