As a rough guideline, administrators usually require editors to have made more than 500 useful non-botlike edits, and to have been active in the last thirty days. Patrollers and License reviewers don't have to request this flag.
A study of anarchist movements in the canton of Bern, Switzerland, in collaboration with the user "Aristoxène". I cannot share the Swiss Federal Archives PDF documents because I am a new user and not the author of the documents. Thank you. Qody73 (talk) 10:28, 1 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Aristoxène seems to have had some copyright issues this year (and not knowing that under Berne, copyright is automatic and must be waived in writing). I could consider a short term granting of the flag based on need though, and then see how it goes. Abzeronow (talk) 01:16, 2 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! I’ve been active on Commons for quite a while now, with around 4,257 edits. I’ve made significant contributions through uploading and maintaining files, and I’m very familiar with Commons policies and procedures. Recently, I’ve focused on improving image quality, particularly by cropping logos and removing unnecessary whitespace that can disrupt infobox formatting on Wikipedia. I consistently aim to maintain proper licensing and categorization, and I believe autopatroller rights would help streamline my workflow and reduce the review burden for others. Thank you. I'd like to be able to overwrite files without the need to request it at COM:OW. I am also interested in using tools like VisualFileChange. I am familiar with Commons' policies and will make a good use of autopatroller rights. Thank you. It's moon (talk) 14:19, 4 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As a rough guideline, administrators usually require editors to have made at least 1,000 useful, non-botlike edits or a large amount of justified renaming requests at Commons before they will consider granting the filemover right.
I've requested quite a number of file renames since I began editing more on Commons, with only a few requests that have been rejected from memory. A lot of times these files have very vague titles that don't give information on what the image is showing, which is why I file these requests. If given filemover rights, I will continue my progress in renaming files as the process would be much more streamlined. Thank you. Surayeproject3 (talk) 12:58, 26 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hopefully, the POV disputes from English Wikipedia, involving numerous ANI cases due to the removal of one name for another, do not spread to Commons. Wlaak (talk) 17:58, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would to request renaming rights so I can help organise and maintain Category:Coldplay. I made many contributions related to the band on Wikipedia and I want to extend my efforts to Wikimedia as well. Thank you. GustavoCza (talk) 02:41, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You have too few rename requests [1]. But if you submit rename requests, we can assess your renaming skills, and the request can stay pending. Incalltalk11:15, 11 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to request the Filemover user right. I am an experienced contributor with long-term involvement in Wikimedia Commons, particularly in the documentation, categorization, and organization of photographic collections related to cultural heritage in Portugal. I am actively working on the ongoing project to categorize Bens Móveis de Interesse Nacional (Movable National Heritage assets), as seen at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Bens_Móveis_de_Interesse_Nacional_in_Portugal, which frequently requires renaming files to more accurate, standardized, and descriptive titles, ensuring consistency in categorization, official identifiers, and heritage-related nomenclature. In addition, I am part of the organizing team of Wiki Loves Monuments Portugal, as documented here: https://pt.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2025/Relatório , where efficient organization and file renaming are fundamental during the preparation and post-processing of the competition. Having the Filemover right would allow me to perform these tasks more efficiently and consistently, benefiting both the contest workflow and other ongoing heritage documentation initiatives I collaborate with. Thank you for your consideration. Thank you. DiogoBaptista (talk) 18:19, 29 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The amount of rename requests is rather small, with just criterion 3 requests. I still am considering based on your experience on Commons and the need for the flag though. Abzeronow (talk) 02:09, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
License reviewers don't have to request this flag. If you also want temporary account IP viewer right please mention this in your request. A separate request is not needed.
You may only request this right if you have patroller or license reviewer right. If you do not have this right please make a request for one of these rights and mention that you also need temporary account IP viewer right in the request.
For a rough advise, do not seek this flag if you have not made about 500 useful edits on Wikimedia Commons unless you associate with any Wikimedia affiliate, or campagins such as Wiki Loves Earth
Greetings admin, I am requesting the upload wizard campaign editor right to me for more enablement to edit the campaign wizard for the Wiki Audio Walk campaign which we initiated this year, and for other community-related campaigns involving image uploads.
