Graphics Lab/Photography workshop

The Graphics Lab is a project to improve the graphical content of the Wikimedia projects. Requests for image improvements can be added to the workshop pages: Illustrations, Photographs and Maps. For questions or suggestions one can use the talk pages: Talk:Graphics Lab, Talk:Illustrations, Talk:Photographs and Talk:Maps.
This specific page is the requests page for the photography workshop. Anyone can make a request for a photograph to be improved for a Wikipedia article. The standard format for making a request is shown below, along with general advice, and should be followed.

Advice to requesters

All requests:

Please make sure your request is "legitimate" by copyright. If the image(s) are in the public domain or freely licensed, you are fine. If the image(s) are "Fair use", there are only certain things we can do with them without falling afoul of Wikipedia's fair-use policies.
- If you are requesting assistance with a copyright or fair-use image, don't display it on this page; place {{GLNF|Example.png|caption|align=left}} to create a link to it. Do not add the File: extension. Our fair-use policy does not allow displaying fair-use images out of their articles on ANY account.
Please check back regularly to see if progress has been made or if any additional questions need to be answered before the request can be completed.
If a request is done to your satisfaction, please mark it with {{resolved}}.

SVG requests:

Make sure your request can actually BE vectorized. Note that vector drawings are not suitable for certain applications. We generally use SVG format for icons, logos, drawings, maps, flags, and such. Certain things, photographs especially, are totally impossible to vectorize.
Per our non-free content policy, vectorization of copyrighted images is not permitted. If a vectorized non-free image is desired, seek out such an image from the copyright holder.

Request: I'd like to remove the watermarks from this photo: both the "Istituto Luce" lettering superimposed over the image and the logo in the bottom right-hand corner. I had copyright concerns and asked for advice on WP:IMAGEHELP: see this discussion. Apparently there's no copyright and the watermarks are free to remove. Hi, I was wondering if someone can kindly please upload a cropped version of this photo of the athlete Lurdes Gloria Manuel so it can go on her page? Manuel is third from left. I know it's not a great photo (the image of her when cropped will be quite small) but the only other photo of her on Commons shows her face as blurry. Hi do not hesitate to use https://croptool.toolforge.org. Connect yourself and paste the name of the file. You will be able to crop it exactly as you want. It is very easy and the tool allows to create a new file for the cropped version. If you don't succeed please tell us and somebody will eventually do it but it worth trying imho... Don't worry! I know the photo of Lurdes wasn't the best but neither was the other one on Commons. It was a choice between two bad photos, A small one or a blurry one. Regardless, you did the best you can with the small photo and I feel that it was the right choice too. I consider this image to just be used temporary until a better (i.e. bigger and clearer) photo of Lurdes shows up on Commons. Thanks for the great work!
