This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Discrimination. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.

Adding a new AfD discussion
Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
  1. Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
  2. You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Discrimination|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
Removing a closed AfD discussion
Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
Other types of discussions
You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Discrimination. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
Further information
For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

Discrimination

[edit]
MRAsians (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
(Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
  1. Rationale

From a quick search, as well as looking at the citations section, this page as well as the term "MRAsians" seems to the promoting the point of view of one specific publication in a humanities related academic journal.

A tiny handful of other references I could find for the term MRAsians online were just a few magazine posts virtue signaling to boost this publication in a politically biased manner.

My conclusion was that MRAsians is just a made up term coined by one person, and used by not more than a handful of people, none of whom a part of the demographic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Editor+hrs (talkcontribs)

Relisting comment: Relisting. Again, only argue for a Merge or Redirect outcome if there is a suitable, existing target article you are also proposing. Otherwise, your argument can't be considered.

  • Delete. Fails WP:GNG/WP:NOTNEO. The article is principally built from editorial pages and opinion pieces which I don't think we should consider reliable. This is a neologism and the sourcing isn't there to validate it. Oppose' move to Asian men's rights movement. That title makes it seem like there is some sort of coordinated movement or organization. That isn't a reality. If anything, this is a loosely defined unorganized sub-culture (allegedly) not a movement. There isn't any coordinated activism happening here. Frankly, the article comes across like an Wikipedia:Attack page because the only people writing about this supposed sub-culture share a common POV/agenda and the said sub-culture doesn't even seem to be engaging with this dialogue (ie defending themselves) or have any kind of spokesperson because it isn't a formal or organized group. I'm skeptical that this is even a real sub-culture. It seems to me this is the idea of a single academic who then influenced a couple opinion editorial writers; one of whom based his claim that this is a widely used term off a single tweet by Constance Wu (very dubious claim). The scholarship here is sketchy.4meter4 (talk) 03:08, 29 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment. There is no basis to the claim that there are no reliable sources for this topic. See [5], discussion here [6], both of which explicitly mention "MRASians". There is also e.g. [7]. The Slate article is not an opinion/"editorial" piece, but a journalism piece [8], and the original Liu paper has WP:USEBYOTHERS. Other alleged issues with this page amount to a weird constellation of WP:IDL or bizarre denial that such a subculture exists - the subreddit r/AznIdentity is available for anyone to verify this claim. This type of research is par for the course research on internet subculture that traffic in hateful rhetoric (MRAs). The subculture in question does, in fact, defend itself - I saw posts from the subculture specifically criticizing the existence of this Wikipedia article! Any purported issues with the title are WP:SURMOUNTABLE, but I don't think that the title implies anything about organization. Katzrockso (talk) 06:32, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
