This footballer played briefly for a Major League Soccer team so I was expecting to find WP:SIGCOV when I searched... but I didn't. I even checked Newspapers.com and found only a few trivial mentions in routine match coverage. Perhaps more exists (his career spanned the beginning of widespread digital news and the end of the print heyday), so if you find some, please ping me. Until then, there's no WP:NSPORT pass. - Looks like transfer/match coverage, right? Not sure it counts as SIGCOV. Dclemens1971 (talk) 18:26, 8 September 2025 (UTC)
- Transfer news are not considered SIGCOV. ⋆。˚꒰ঌ Clara A. Djalim ໒꒱˚。⋆ 12:34, 9 September 2025 (UTC)
- It's not "transfer" coverage. He signed with an MLS team. It goes into detail about him. The second one isn't "match coverage" either. He hadn't even played a game yet for the team in question. The section is titled "MR. SEMEDO, WOULD YOU LIKE A WINDOW SEAT?" It goes into some detail about him. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 12:45, 9 September 2025 (UTC)
- I see; but it is just a single paragraph on Semedo. Dclemens1971 (talk) 13:28, 9 September 2025 (UTC)

- Comment: A redirect to List of New England Revolution players may be a suitable WP:ATD. Let'srun (talk) 01:19, 9 September 2025 (UTC)

- A quick search of Newspapers.com shows that there are other reports on this player from secondary sources. Brindille1 (talk) 00:31, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- These look to be primarily transfer news and match reports, and passing mentions in 'gossip' sports pages - WP:ROUTINE. GiantSnowman 17:32, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- That was also my sense of these sources when I saw them during my BEFORE. Dclemens1971 (talk) 17:44, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- I don’t think the article about Semedo threatening to sue the team over potential violations of the collective bargaining agreement is necessarily routine coverage.WP:ROUTINE seems to specifically mention sports scores- much of this is more in-depth than the basic score reports for matches. Brindille1 (talk) 22:40, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- Additionally- much of the coverage I linked is in the Boston Globe in full-length articles. I don’t think that qualifies as “gossip” columns.
- Regardless, I can continue searching for sources reporting on this player- there is more than what I linked here. Brindille1 (talk) 22:41, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
