This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Wrestling. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Wrestling|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Wrestling. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

This article seems like a promotional bio rather than an Wikipedia page, which violates WP:NPOV policy. It may have been created by someone connected to the subject possibly WP:COI. 𝒮-𝒜𝓊𝓇𝒶 04:02, 11 May 2025 (UTC)

- Dear @Zuck28, Why should I be ? 𝒮-𝒜𝓊𝓇𝒶 04:28, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
- Then you should not target and nominate any article like this. If you believe the article needs to be improved, you can edit and make updates, but not afds are not for this.
- Zuck28 (talk) 04:31, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
- I understand your concern, but I want to clarify that I’m not targeting anyone or any specific article. I’m simply following the usual process as part of my routine contributions. If there are issues with the article, I’m happy to improve it through edits my intention was never to disrupt anything out. 𝒮-𝒜𝓊𝓇𝒶 04:35, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
- Dear @Zuck28, Why should I be ? 𝒮-𝒜𝓊𝓇𝒶 04:28, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
- Delete The Subject completely fails WP:SPORTSBIO and WP:GNG. The article also looks like a vanity page with unsourced text like: "contributing to India's wrestling legacy in Asia". Lekkha Moun (talk) 11:41, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
- Did you consider Wp: BEFORE?
- I did not add a lot of information due to a lack of time. But I am sure there are various sources easily available on the Internet that can be used to improve and expand the article. Zuck28 (talk) 14:59, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
- The athlete has not won any notable championships, the Bharat Kesri Dangal is a local competition which adds no weight to the subject's notability. The subject is not even close to reaching wiki notability in wrestling and therefore needs to meet WP:GNG, but do not. Also please be careful to not to WP:BLUDGEON the conversation, it easy to get carried away, I know because I have done it in the past. Lekkha Moun (talk) 15:53, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
- Comment I am confused by this article. It claims Bhati won a Senior Asian Championship gold medal in Amman in 2024. However, the UWW website shows the Asian senior championship was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan that year. In addition, India won no gold medals in the freestyle event and the UWW website doesn't show anyone named Bhati that has competed since 2010. Amman did host some junior events in 2024, but those wouldn't show WP notability. I will give the author a chance to find written verification of the claims before voting. Papaursa (talk) 01:27, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your comments. Even I am confused now. I recall that I sourced the information from Indian media and various news articles available online before publishing it here. However, I will need to cross verify the details again and look for Bette sources, I plan to do this either later tonight or tomorrow.
- Thank you
- Zuck28 (talk) 08:48, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Papaursa, what do you think now?
- Zuck28 (talk) 14:50, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Zuck28 Thank you for definitely improving the article and for finding his results at the UWW website (as Jointy Kumar). Sadly, the correct information shows him to be less notable than the original article claimed. See my vote below for details. Papaursa (talk) 18:56, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
- Delete None of the coverage seems to be what I would call significant. Some of the references don't even mention him and most are either results or he's included a list of names of Indian competitors headed for competitions. None of the that shows me he meets WP:GNG or WP:ANYBIO. As for his wrestling results, he's currently ranked #41 in the world in his division. He has never competed in a senior (non-junior) world championship and lost his only match at the 2022 under 20 world championships. As an adult he has twice competed at the Asian wrestling championships with only 1 victory. None of this seems to meet any WP notability criteria. Papaursa (talk) 18:56, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
- 1 can be considered significant coverage. Also all the sources certainly mentions the subject, it is just that the spelling of the name is different.
- Representing a country on the international level and notable tournaments and winning of the title Bharat Kesri Dangal should also not be overlooked.

- Redirect to Sonya Deville#Various alliances (2021–2025). Does not qualify as an article, but the stable was a part of career of Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler, and Zoey Stark. Two reasons to keep the redirect: 1) Readers search for it and they look for some info about this stable 2) Like many stables/groups in WWE, there could be a chance for the revival of this stable in the future with new members. A redirect and summary works better for this case. --Mann Mann (talk) 16:10, 10 May 2025 (UTC)

Subject does not meet GNG. The sources are mostly not independent (press releases, interviews, a paper written by the subject, company profiles). The ToI article [3] might be sigcov of a company he founded, but the only parts about the subject are quotes from him. This [4] contains a four-sentence mention but really isn't focused on him. The only information I can find in Swiss media is that a person with his exact full name seems to have opened a Subway sandwich store in Langenthal, but the coverage all comes from one source (Berner Zeitung) and is mostly quotes. There are also two hits for his name in reports on judo competitions, far from sigcov. Toadspike [Talk] 15:21, 8 May 2025 (UTC)

- Keep: With the main arguments being repeated information and fancruft, should not the World, Women's, and Tag Team championships in WWE articles also be up for deletion? This article was created by myself due to one not existing, and it covers a certain WWE championship type, just like the other articles do. I see no reason for this article being deleted and not the others as mentioned above. This article is also only around a year old, so there is still time to add new information to make it more unique and informative and less repetitive, as the article is still fairly new. Selar0m (talk) 21:40, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
- This isn't a reason for keep; if anything, it's a reason to delete other similar articles. — Czello (music) 18:46, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
- Actually your argument proves why this article should be deleted. The age of article does not matter at all. Some articles remain for several years on WP, and then someday the community decide to delete them. You created this article in 4 December 2023, so you had plenty of time to improve it (which I doubt it, because the topic itself is redundant). If you think those articles have similar issues like yours, feel free to nominate them for deletion. --Mann Mann (talk) 02:24, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
- You guys are correct, I recognize that I let my soft spot for this article overtake logic and I apologize. I do think the other ones should be put up for deletion as well, it's just saddening to see it go. Selar0m (talk) 05:44, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
