This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Disambiguations. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.

Adding a new AfD discussion

Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:

Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Disambiguations|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.

There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.

Removing a closed AfD discussion

Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.

Other types of discussions

You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Disambiguations. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.

Delete, but not because of ONEOTHER. It seems to me that neither of the two sportsmen is the primary topic, so I recommend that Franz Wagner be moved to Franz Wagner (basketball) and the undisambiguated page turned into a human name disambiguation page. per nom. Comment: I would support deletion here, but while doing my due diligence I found Franz Josef Wagner and Franz Xaver Wagner (comedian). @Shhhnotsoloud do you think those two are worth adding to this DAB page? If so, the oneother issue is resolved. Toadspike [Talk] 16:21, 22 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I am conflicted, because both are German, which means the second name might be considered part of their given name and not a middle name. This would make them partial title matches. Comment. The keep argument here appears to be that the list is "useful enough" or "reasonable", but those reasons don't comply with WP:DP. As explained at WP:DAB, a disambiguation page is used "when a potential article title is ambiguous", and not otherwise. In the same guideline, WP:PTM asserts that "a disambiguation page is not a search index", and links "should not be included... where there is no significant risk of confusion between them". Weak delete I don't think this really ameliorates much confusion, and don't see indication that multiple of these topics are referred to as table football. This article even started out that way: Special:Permalink/191574737. The other article began as a self-contradictory page about some claimed noble family: Special:Permalink/575056908. (It cannot have both originated in Normandy and in Scotland in two different centuries.) Technical comment: To move a page onto an existing page, we'd either have to WP:SWAP the two (and presumably redirect the dab now at Purves) or we'd have to delete Purves and move the surname page onto it.
