Adding a new AfD discussion

Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:

Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Goa|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.

There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.

Removing a closed AfD discussion

Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.

Other types of discussions

You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Goa. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.

2027 Goa Legislative Assembly election

WP:NCRYSTAL. Nothing about the election has been declared yet, no WP:RS are currently talking about it. Should be recreated closer to 2027 when we have actual sources discussing the election.

I have now noticed a series of articles under the Template:Next Indian elections. I was not aware of the remaining articles, and the standard to call them "Next". I'm not now unsure if there's a broader consensus at play; if not, one should be established. Either will make deleting all early "Next articles" easier, or we could add talk page notes to not nominate any of them for deletion. Soni (talk) 07:13, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Keep - I have expanded the sources in the article. A multi-page chapter in a book discusses her and her work,^[1] she is widely quoted in the news thereby meeting WP:BASIC (see article for citations), she has one publication that has been reviewed (not a pass of WP:AUTHOR but contributing to notability). Comment This user has a total of six edits, 5 are changes altering my additions to the Desai article and one is a comment here at AfD. Given this, and the limited editing history of the initial nominator, I am a little concerned about the interest in this article.

Regardless, the four-page long book chapter describes Desai's personality, her dedication to children, how the organization she runs has exposed the "seedy underbelly of Goal", how she got involved in the organization. MTV Splitsvilla season 1

A list of 20 contestants, only 2 of whom have their own pages, plus details of who they were "dumped by" is essentially a summary-only description of a work. This season of the show is not notable independently of MTV Splitsvilla, and there's no content here that couldn't be merged to that article.

I'm creating an AfD rather than boldly redirecting etc. as MTV Splitsvilla lists individual pages for 15 seasons so think it's worth a discussion. Feedback welcome on whether this is the right approach. Jonathan Deamer (talk) 17:49, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Relisting comment: I'm relisting this discussion. Have editors looked at this redirect target? It's a blank section on this article point to the page you want to delete. You're advocating redirecting an article to just a header on an article. This doesn't seem like the most sensible resolution. How about a Merge consideration?

Comment - sorry, I wasn't clear. I'm suggesting MTV_Splitsvilla#Seasons overview as the redirect target for MTV Splitsvilla#Season 1 (and other seasons), and removing the headers for each season.
