Michelin key
[edit]There is a key on every Michelin list, I have turned it into a template, Template:Michelin star key. History6042๐ (Contact me) 20:42, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- I would like to know, does anybody know how to add a parameter that makes it only show up to one star, or two, or three? History6042๐ (Contact me) 20:45, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- I assume there's a way info can be suppressed and used as needed, but I'm not sure how. We might ask for help at Wikipedia:WikiProject Templates? ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:02, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- You can do that by adding add 3 #if to to turn each key off Labratscientist (talk) 04:50, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
- I changed it. Labratscientist (talk) 08:16, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
- What if only one-star ratings exist? Is there a way to suppress the 2 and 3 star rating so it only shows 1 star?
- Expandinglight5 (talk) 16:14, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
- I changed it. Labratscientist (talk) 08:16, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
- This appears to be closed. Move to archive.

- What was the shading used for marking a restaurant as "closed" In other Michelin-starred pages, "closed" or "temporarily closed" were using a background of "lightgray". The shading that is used in the Michelin star key for "closed" restaurants seems to be of a different shade. Should this align with the previous shading of lightgray or should other pages confirm to this revised shading? Expandinglight5 (talk) 04:37, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- I've gone ahead and changed it to lightgray which matches the style guide. WP: BEBOLD. The legend is showing the revised shading but it's not rendering in the table when being used. How is this adjusted when referencing a closed restaurant? Expandinglight5 (talk) 04:29, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
- I've sorted out the shading issue. The legend and the star itself is now shading in the lightgray color as indicated in the style guide. Expandinglight5 (talk) 22:53, 17 March 2025 (UTC)

Spanish Lists
[edit]I have started making separate lists for the country of Spain. So far I have Barcelona and the Balearic Islands. Should I keep going with this, or make on big Spanish list. History6042๐ (Contact me) 23:04, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
- Spain is published as one region and ideally one list. If a particular market is very large (i.e. Paris) it's reasonable to have a subpage which links to the major city. Ideally something similar is done with Germany of having one main page. Expandinglight5 (talk) 23:23, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
- Okay, the reason I did it this way was because it would be quite a long list if it was all one. That isn't necessarily bad however. History6042๐ (Contact me) 23:26, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
- Perhaps sections within if it's reasonable to maintain? See Japan and South Korea as possible examples. Expandinglight5 (talk) 23:29, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
- That could be doable. History6042๐ (Contact me) 23:43, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
- Perhaps similar to what was recently done for GermanyExpandinglight5 (talk) 00:19, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
- Close and move to archive. Main list for Spain has been created.

'American South' Michelin Guide
[edit]Just announced that a guide will be created for some states in the Southern US. Looks like it will be taking the Atlanta guide and expanding it, also covering Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee. If it follows the release schedule of Atlanta, this will likely release in October 2025. How do we want to go about the pages for this, re-naming the Atlanta page, or creating a new page? Dtmich24 (talk) 17:36, 2 April 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for sharing. I'm inclined to rename/redirect the Atlanta page to now include the 'American South' Expandinglight5 (talk) 18:03, 2 April 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, I assume it'll be best to move List of Michelin-starred restaurants in Atlanta to List of Michelin-starred restaurants in the American South, then update the introduction to note the previous existence and expansion of the Atlanta guide. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:59, 2 April 2025 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]A discussion at Wikipedia talk:Featured list candidates is related to the lists of this project. History6042๐ (Contact me) 13:56, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
- @History6042 I think you're doing a good job and I appreciate seeing lists about Michelin-starred restaurants being promoted (finally!). I don't particularly agree with all of the feedback you are being given by some editors. I don't think it is necessary to include much detail about the local restaurant scene, or to merge pages just for the sake of it. To the extent possible, I think the lists names and geographic scopes should reflect the guides. But, some other editors are going to tell you differently and that's fine, lists can be improved based on consensus. (Also, if editors feel strongly about making the lists look a certain way, they should roll up their sleeves and make improvements.) Thanks for being engaging and positive about the feedback instead of getting discouraged. I hope other project members here will also weigh in. Keep up the great work! ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:13, 16 April 2025 (UTC)

Just a Heads Up
[edit]I merged the Spanish article, but it is not finished. History6042๐ (Contact me) 12:48, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
- Nice. Expandinglight5 (talk) 17:32, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
- How do you suggest to handle Andorra? Andorra is a separate nation but its Michelin ratings are published along with Spain although the official guide and ceremony only mentions Spain. Perhaps a separate section in the Spain article with a note explaining the above but not changing the title of the article?
- Expandinglight5 (talk) 23:49, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
- I just made an Andorra article recently, List of Michelin-starred restaurants in Andorra. I know it is small but we did Latvia back when it only had one. History6042๐ (Contact me) 23:53, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
- Should it be merged with Spain?
- Expandinglight5 (talk) 00:45, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- I do not think so. The closest example I could think for population ratios was if we had a single China page that was called China, but also randomly had Mongolia there to. (Both are about 450:1 ratios) History6042๐ (Contact me) 00:55, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- My thinking was that because Spain and Andorra are in the same guide/ceremony, they can be combined. China has separate ceremonies and guides for Hong Kong, Beijing, etc. just like the US states and cities have separate ceremonies/guides. I'm fine either way. If they remain separate, it's probably worth adding to the See Also section.
- Expandinglight5 (talk) 07:42, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- There is an AFD discussion about the Andorra article, it is almost definitely getting merged. History6042๐ (Contact me) 22:10, 4 May 2025 (UTC)

Large Lists
[edit]I have desired to take on the challenge of creating/finishing the large, nonexistent lists, Spain, Italy, France, Belgium, etc. So far I have been splitting them into sections by first level subdivions, is this correct? History6042๐ (Contact me) 01:04, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- I don't think there is a right or wrong but I would probably avoid avoid too many separate lists. I think by main region similar to England would be the best of both worlds.

America Northeast Guide
[edit]Looks like NY, DC and Chicago will be merged into one guide for the next update, while also adding Philadelphia and Boston (re-named American Northeast Cities): https://guide.michelin.com/us/en/article/news-and-views/michelin-guide-boston-philadelphia-massachusetts-pennsylvania-philly
How do we wish to approach this, as we've had distinct lists for the three existing cities for a number of years now? Do we wish to merge everything together into one page? Or keep those distinct and add new pages for Boston and Philadelphia?
Or perhaps create a 'hub' Northeast Cities page where we put the stars for Boston and Philadelphia, but link to the pages for the other 3 cities (as we do for Greater London on the England page)?
