Could we move Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Artists to Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Visual artists since that is the topic and to cut down on erroneous postings? Jahaza (talk) 20:35, 17 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

or …/Visual arts ? —Tamfang (talk) 05:06, 12 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, I'm tagging for merger. The two pages are relatively low traffic and non-visual artists are regularly being put into Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Artists and then they have to be removed again, which is a waste of time. Jahaza (talk) 22:15, 26 June 2025 (UTC) (time stamp incorrect)[reply]

If the two are merged, it should keep the name Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Visual arts and should not be changed to Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Visual artists because there would no longer be a del sort for galleries and museums, arts organizations, murals, works of graphic design, public art, collaborative efforts and teams, etc. I have no opinion on the merger at this time, but feel quite strongly that if it goes forward, it should not be called Visual artists, but should remain visual art. Netherzone (talk) 22:08, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Right, exactly that. Previously I suggested renaming "Artists" to "Visual artists" to reduce confusion, but now I'm suggesting instead a merge to "Visual arts". If people don't want a merge, then as a fall back, we could keep "Visual arts" and change Artists to "Visual artists" as originally proposed. But I agree that we want to keep a general Visual arts category, regardless. Jahaza (talk) 22:14, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Should the Prod section be removed from the bottom of the list? Seems unused. Govvy (talk) 13:55, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The PROD section for most of the deletion sorting lists I've seen goes unused because you have to manually list things there. It might be worth removing it for most of them, but I'd wait to see what other people say. Schützenpanzer (Talk) 19:29, 27 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New List for Activism

[edit]

Can I go ahead and set up a list for Activism, or do I need to get permission in advance, and how would that happen? Anomalous+0 (talk) 02:26, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No permission needed, really. To set it up, you would just need to create the page at Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Activism. I think a category for activism could be useful as I have seen a few 'activists' up for deletion in the past. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 21:03, 1 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm. @Spiderone I was bold and created Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Physics, following this thread. The page exists, but it does not show up as an option when creating an AfD. What have I missed? Ldm1954 (talk) 03:44, 7 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Ldm1954: It needs to be added to Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Computer-readable.json and Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Compact and Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Flat. I have completed this for you, so it now works, but please make sure to add the topic to these 3 pages if you decide to create another delsort. Messed up AfD

[edit]

The page Fariborz Maseeh has an AfD but it looks like it was not properly/fully transcoded and the bot keeps trying (and failing). Not sure how to fix it, hopefully someone else can. Ldm1954 (talk) 22:35, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion sorting by country

[edit]

So, I have a question when it comes to sorting AfD by country. An AfD about a native of country may be sorted under a foreign one, even if they don't have blood connection to it. Here is an example. ⋆。˚꒰ঌ Clara A. Djalim ໒꒱˚。⋆ 14:50, 1 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yes? What's the question? jolielover♥talk 06:38, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New deletion sorting list

[edit]

I have created Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Artificial intelligence since there appears to be quite a lot of nominations revolving around AI, and I see no sign of decrease. The other delsort lists were a little too broad, hence this creation. I believe I've added it to all related pages but LMK or be bold if you've noticed I've missed something out. jolielover♥talk 06:38, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
