RfA question

It may well be that I just shot myself in the foot here, but I could not let that ridiculous question stand. As I said, I'm fully prepared to suffer the consequences. One editor already asked me to revert myself (on my talk); I responded that I couldn't but that it was within their right to do so, and I'll say the same to you. I apologize for ruffling any feathers, but I don't want that kind of nonsense derailing an RfA for an editor I hold in high esteem. Thank you all. Drmies (talk) 06:01, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

I do not support the point of view of the question, and I will not reinstate it, but I do think it would have been interesting to see the answer, as being quite like some of the stuff an admin has to handle. I think the removal of the question was unwise, and the removal of the !vote downright inappropriate. Whatever the user's motivations, it seems sad that we have treated what were (hopefully) good faith attempts to contribute to the RfA with such disdain.--Korruski^Talk 15:33, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

FWIW, what Drmies did seemed like a good-faith attempt to improve the RfA. I'm not experienced enough to say you were wrong or right, but it is an honorable thing to try to resolve something that you see as a problem. Sharktopus^talk 02:40, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
